Wed- School. Made apple pie. Straightened. Took Harry to Pitt Dental. Brought Elaine home. Fixed supper. Bill took Elaine back. Carol brought her stereo. Read.

Thu – School. Ivan home sick. Bronchitis. Grace called. Washed clothes. Washed mattress cover of my bed. Cleaned bed. Read story. Dan Arico came. Played cards.

Fri – Cleaned. Gave money for card party tickets. Went to bank & store. Made cheese bread & cheese cake. Kids went to student faculty basketball game.

Sat – Up early. Showered. Fixed breakfast for Stan & me. Went to State College to get Dave. Rain & foggy. Got honey. Home at 4:30. Stan had made chili. Made cake & ice tea.

Fri – School. Took Harry & Greg to Pitt Dental. Went to town about food stamps. Picked them up at Elaine’s. Cleaned living room. Took Harry shopping for birthday. Ivan went to dance. Frank saw man at Marines.

Sat – Dave home late last night. Washed clothes. Made kapusta. Signed kids for baseball. Went to dairy & store. Called Mary. Kids watched TV late.

Thu – School. Stan drove Frank to work. Called Carol. Washed clothes. Pruned grapes & buildt fire at garden. Baked cake. Started Harry’s booties. Went to store. Elaine called Had good interview.

Fri – School. Drove Frank to work. Stan went to W. Va. Called about GED. Cleaned house well. Took kids to Marks (not there). Took to student faculty basketball. Went to store.

Sat – Washed clothes. Took Harry. Signed up he & Julie for Boro ball. Took Harry to school practice. Elaine & friend Randy came for supper (walked out). Watched TV. Power off. Carol & Jim came out in new car.

Sat – Washed clothes. Mended. Kids cleaned & played basketball. Harry had basketball practice (school). Marion called. Baked lemon meringue pie & cake. Watched TV. Andre Previn & “Upstairs, Downstairs”.

Sun – Read paper. Kids played basketball. Stan took Greg for driving lesson in Subaru. Harry at Benack’s for rehearsal. Kids got baths. Watched TV.

Mon – Up early. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Stan went to VA Hosp. “iritis”. Changed sheets. Went to bank & store. Stan & I went to Marion’s for dinner. Nice. Dave came later in evening.

Tue – School. Took Ivan to Dental clinic. Picked up Elaine’s clothes. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Started afghan. Mended. Battery dead on Chrysler. Bill took Greg to work.

Wed- School. Straightened house. Cut meat. Stopped at K-Mart (exchanged yarn). Got kids. Took Greg & Harry to dental clinic. Got Harry’s glasses in new frame. Brought Elaine home for supper. She took bus home.

Thu – School. Made bacon & eggs. Called Marion Washed clothes. Took shower. Made cake with Dream Whip. Called about coming card party. Fixed sausage, potatoes & onions.

Fri – School. Showered. Cleaned living room, kitchen, & bedroom. Played cards. Watched TV & crocheted.

Sat – Washed clothes. Guys got awning from McGees. Kids cleaned. Stan worked on PCS for Elaine. Sold card party tickets to Mrs. Iames. Frank took car. Got letter from Dave. Fixed chicken.

Sun – Called Marion. Showered & washed hair. Fixed bacon & eggs. Made $25,000 chocolate cake. Went to store. Called Carol. Made $25,000 chicken pies. Gave haircuts. Stan buildt fire.

Wed – School. Julie home. Cut out her coat. Started to sew. Went to bank & store. Got food stamps. Made stuffed chicken. Went to first class at night school.

Thu – School. Took Greg & Harry to Pitt Dental. Wrote Bill & Harold. Read story in magazine. Stan went back to shop. Made Chocolate Texas Sheet Cake. Marion called.

Fri – School. Julie stayed for lunch. Sewed her coat. Cleaned house. Elaine & Don came out. Made pizza & had lemonade. She washed clothes.

Sat – Beautiful day. Washed clothes. Pruned grapes. Stan worked on gas tank on Plymouth. Took Julie & Ivan to Bill’s. Stopped at Paydays. Carol came but missed her.

Sun – Rainy. Worked on account project. Couldn’t balance. Read paper. Stan mailed form to Elaine & Unemployment. Kids got baths. Called Joe Ramsey.

Thu – School. Stan drove Frank to work. Washed clothes. Leslie came for lunch. Carol called & Regina called. Called about GED. Stopped at K-Mart. Went to Eleanor’s. We went to funeral home (Marion John’s mother).

Fri – School. Drove Frank to work. Cleaned house. Carol came for lunch. Stan went to Youngstown. Visited Jenny. Finished Harry’s sweater. Marion called.

Sat – Stan drove Greg & Harry to Dr. Cohen for drivers exam ($20.00) Washed clothes. Picked them up. Made chocolate dessert & chili. Dave worked 5-10 at Ponderosa. Called Aunt Stella. Stan got leaflet from Ken Hollenbach.

Sun – Cooler. Took Frank to work. Sorted mail. Read paper. Watched Bob Hope movie “That Certain Feeling”. Played “Bluff” with kids. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Took Frank to work. Carol called. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Widened Stan’s trousers. Made Texas Sheet Cake. Went to Julie’s scout meeting. Got milk. Stan went back to shop.

1977

Fri – School. Julie still home. Went to town for food stamps. Got makings for sport coat. Stan cleaned & made chili. Harry had job. Watched TV.

Sat – Marion called. Washed clothes. Elaine & Andrea came. Stan & I went to store. Hatfields stopped out – not home. Ironed clothes. Made iced tea. Played cards. Grammy awards.

Sun – Snowy. Read paper. Finished Julie’s hat mask. Elaine came & let Harry drive Honda. Didn’t stay for dinner. Had roast, baked potato, cheese cake. Dave came. No more Ponderosa. Gave hair cuts.

Mon – School. Stan went with Don B. in morning. Elaine came for lunch & started home. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Stan took me to proposed new shop. Lots of room. Played cards. Dave came to use typewriter.

Sat – Washed clothes. Frank had test. Stuck with Pontiac. Made cheese cake. With cherry topping & bread. Elaine & her friend Mike came for supper. Had chili. They went to Bill & Carolyn’s & Stan & I went to Clairton to hear the symphony.

Sun – Nice day but cold. Boys tried to work on car. Bill came. Didn’t start. Elaine & Mike came for lunch & started back. We all went to Ponderosa for Dave’s birthday dinner.

Fri – School. Called Elaine. Cleaned kitchen & living room. Went to bank & store. Wrote checks. Part came for refrigerator (wrong one).

Thu – School. Harry home. Washed clothes. Cleaned out medicine cabinet. Baked cup cakes. Iced them – fixed for school. Finished Elaine’s purse.

Fri – School. Harry home. Cleaned house. Went to store (no food stamps). Julie had party. Came home sick. Watched TV.

Sat – Julie & Ivan sick again. Washed clothes. Called Stella & Mary. Made kids lunch on tray (Ivan & Julie). Watched TV. Mr. Iames brought me vegetables for soup.

Sat – Most snow on walks & driveway melted. Washed clothes. Made sauerkraut & spare ribs. Got Valentine card from Bill & Carolyn. Harry had job. Played cards.

Sun – Read paper. Called Bill & Carolyn. Baked cup cakes for school party. Iced them. Kids got baths. Watched “2001: Space Odyssey”.

Wed- School. Straightened house. Made kapusta. Called Eleanor. Took Harry to dental clinic. Wrong one. Bumped guy’s fender. Elaine came home to wash clothes & eat. Took Elaine back. Rain.

Thu – School. Ivan home sick. Washed clothes. Went to Clairton to get gas. Got extra for Stan. Marion & Grace called. Stan & I worked on books again. Wrote checks.

Fri – School. Ivan home. Baked date & nut loaves & chocolate nut cookies. Worked on coat. Took Greg to work. Went to store. Got Tupperware. Did hem on coat. Watched TV. Frank took loaf to Lindahl’s.

Wed – School. Harry home sick. Cleaned oven. Went to Clairton. Pd mortgage. Mailed Dave’s tax forms. Got tires fixed (flat). Went to Maricini’s. Fixed supper. Scene at table.

Thu – School. Felt blue. Washed clothes. Frank didn’t go to ear clinic. Stan went to Dr. & for food stamps (5 ½ hrs). Elaine came out (bus). Picked up Harry at Vince’s& stopped at Foodland.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Warmer. Stan went to Latrobe. Carol came for lunch. Chopped at ice. Fell off back steps. Frank stopped. Played cards.

Tue – School. Greg left early. Called Eleanor & Marion John. Tried to write story about Marion. Frank cleaned front walk. Went to milk store & store. Harry went to Sue’s (her birthday).

Wed – School. Wrote contests & letters. Called Eleanor. Did mending. Fixed chicken. Harry fasted. Stan & I went to K-Mart. New hours cause of energy shortage.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Made cream puffs. Mr. DiPietro came. Tried new recipe. Meatloaf casserole. Kids had basketball game. Called Marion. Dave came. Frank helped Dave at work. Stan called Bill.

Fri – School. Called Roberta Gimpner & Marion. Cleaned house. Stan went to West Virginia. Had pot roast. Went to bank & store. Got Mrs. Iames dog food & bread.
