May 8 to May 141964 Fri - School. Cut out and sewed me a dress. No water. Break in the main. Kids got our of school eary because of water leak. Went shopping. Went to Bill's musical at TJ. Sybil brought gifts for Elaine.Sat - Stan didn't work. Finished my dress. Went to Shopping Center. Got Elaine's birthday presents and Ivan's shoes. Stan worked on fill and kids cut grass. Had birthday cake, etc. Baths and TV.Sun - Stan worked. Didn't go to SS. Didn't help Bill with papers. Cut grass, burned ribish. Rested. Stan and I went to see Mom and Pap. Kids stayed home. Mother's day.Mon - School. Washed clothes Baked pie. Bought clarinet for David. Had good supper. Ironed. Ironed. Stan went to meeting (Carbidi engineers). E & D didn't feel wll. Velma Bell called.Tue - School. Elaine home sick. Dad came. I cleaned the kitchen and washed bedroom windows and put in screens. Went shopping. Sat – Stan’s day off. Rainy day. Dad came out. Stan bought lumber. Worked upstairs. Fought with Bill about paper route. Stan called Mike Simocek about Bill quitting. Went shopping. Baths.
Sun – Helped Bill with papers. G & H went to SS with me. Children’s day program. Took kids for oral Sabin vaccine. Bob H. came out. Went to Eleanor’s for Laura’s graduation dinner.
Mon – Last day of school. No water again. Called Marts to fix well. Report cards were fine. Baked cake. Stanley worked on pump. Watched TV.
Tue – No school. Took H , G & I to baby clinic. Carol at laundromat. Hung clothes. Took Carol & Greg to dentist. Went shopping. Mary called – Kaz & gang all coming out. Cleaned house like greased lightning. Everything went well.
Wed – Kids cut grass. Ironed. Tried to go to store. Battery dead. Stan took it to get recharged. Went to store in his Ford. Bill H. Came out. Stan went to Boy Scout meeting. Kids slept outside.
Thu – Stan worked. Got ready to go to bank. Dad came. Battery still dead. Kids cut grass. Drapery material came. Started drapes. Mr. Savage fixed battery. Went to bank & shopping. Went to Tile City for new dining room rug. Laid it down.

Sat – Stan worked. Cleaned house. Bill went to Bowling picnic. Hot day. Kids got baths. Watched TV.
Sun – Went to SS with Ivan. Was teacher for little ones. Went to store. Carol, David & Elaine started for ball game. Missed bus. Elaine went with me to Eleanor’s for Cathy’s graduation. Planted white flowers.
Mon – School. Washed clothes. Ironed. Baked butterscotch brownies. Dave & Frank had game (lost 3-15). Bill went to Baccalaureate at TJ. Watched TV.
Tue – No school. Took Harry & Ivan to baby clinic. Went to Southland. Got material for Carol’s duster. Went to bookmobile & bread store.
Wed – Last day school. Cut my hair. Finished Elaine’s shorts. Cut & sewed Carol’s robe. Dave & Frank had ballgame (won 16-9). Weeded garden.
Thu – Start of vacation. Harry had bad poison ivy. Took Bill for job. Got social security application. TOPS meeting. Mary P. queen (-6). No pig. Went to store for order. Dave Smith & Bill fixed Carol’s radio.
Fri – Went to bank. Bought Carol’s Lady Remington. Made galumpkies. Kids squirted hose. Got sunburn. Weeded front. Watched TV.

Sun – Went to church. Had flat tire. Harry & Ivan sang in angel choir. Bell’s drove me to garage. Made pierogi and kapusta. Mom called. Stan went to store and took Carol. Watch TV. Kids got baths.
Mon – School. Gregory stayed home. Possible mumps. Washed clothes. Ironed & folded. Stan went bowling. Fixed spaghetti.
Tue – School. Felt terrible. Slept late. Gregory stayed home again. Washed curtains & windows in dining room. Took Carol up to school for Baccalaureate. Went to store. Called Mom.
Wed – No school. Cleaned cellar. Fixed lunch. Washed living room windows & put up screens. Carol went to graduation. Defrosted refrigerator. Stan went bowling. Took bath. Stan bought cherries & strawberries.
Thu – Last day school. Washed clothes. Washed living room drapes. Washed windows. Fixed strawberry cake. Went to TOPS. Lost 1 pound & got diaper. Had pop & ice cream.
Fri – No school. Start of vacation. Kids helped me clean house. Went to bank & Kroger. Fixed supper. Went with Carol to K-mart, Hornes & Haines. Very tired. L D called.
Sat – Stan’s day off. Fixed bacon & eggs. Stan took Carol & friend, David & Frank to ballgame. Pirates won (5-3). I took Elaine, Greg & Harry to drive-in. Saw “Ugly Dachshund” and “Never Too Late”. L D & family was there.

Mon – School. Harry home sick. Washed clothes. Folded. Made cho. Pie. Took Carol shopping for birthday gifts and cards.
Tue – School. Ironed clothes. Washed kitchen windows and curtains. Carol ate at Susy’s. Went to store.
Wed – School. Free hot lunch. Harry home. Washed upstairs windows & drapes. Dad came out. Took girls to Ladies night. Carol drove (Pirates 3 – Mets 0). Frank had game (Jayhawks 14 – Pirates 4) Girls slept here.
Thu – No school. Took Susy home early. Went to Eastland. Bought wedding & graduation gifts. Got scat car & potty chair for stamps. Went to TOPS (-3). Got Carol & Jo Ellen at Baccalaureate at TJ.
Fri – Last day school. Kids out early. Washed clothes. Folded clothes & made beds. Stan took boys to ball game. Wrapped presents. Carol went on trip to Ohio with Jane.
Sat – Kids cleaned. Stan went to ball field with kids for practice. Stan put in clothes post. Cleaned kitchen & living room. Cut grass & worked on front. Took baths.
Sun – Didn’t go to SS. Stan put in other clothes post. Went to store. Very hot. 90 degrees. Went in to see Mom and Hatfields. Got cedar tree & swing around.

Wed – School. Sen. Kennedy shot. Washed clothes. Stan worked on well. Got more stone. Carol went to town. Went to bank. Carol’s commencement. Lovely night. Everything went well. Dad went but didn’t stop here.
Thu – No school for Dave & Elaine. Dave helped Stan with wall. Sewed Elaine’s dress & shorts. Ironed. Fixed turnovers & chicken. Carol worked. Stan took boys to ballgame (Jayhawks 3 – Bluejays 2) Cleaned the kitchen walls.
Fri – School. Last day. Kids home early. Hot day. Ivan filled mortar box. Cleaned kitchen. Washed bathroom window. Shopped. Sewed tops for dining room chairs.
Sat – Very hot. Kids squirted hose. Stan finished wall. Kids cleaned. Went shopping. Chopped celery for potato salad. Washed clothes. Carol ironed. Cleaned bedroom.
Sun – Did quick load of clothes. Fixed potato salad. Put pop & ice in laundry tub. Mrs. Iames iced cake. Had Carol’s party. Kathleen’s friend had accident. Everything went well. Tired. Ivan sunburned.
Mon – Very hot. First day vacation. Took Frank to dentist. Washed clothes. Took Greg & Harry swimming. Rested. Hoed garden. Stan took kids to Frank’s ballgame (Orioles 3 – Hawks 1). Wrote Bill. Carol’s first day work at Mellon.
Tue – Got gas. Hoed garden. Planted more seeds. Took kids swimming. Carol returned typewriter to Roxy. Got extra tomato plants. Stan took Greg & Harry to ballgame (Jayhawks 18 – Hawks 9).

Fri – Slept late. Stan worked. Finished drapes for living room. Washed clothes. Carol helped fix chicken for supper. Carol went shopping for me. Cleaned coins for Mom’s present.
Sat – Fixed potato salad. Ironed. Cleaned up and went to Mom’s 50th wedding anniversary. Good crowd (20 children & 20 adults). Good food. All went well. Stan worked and came later with Bill & Dave.
Sun – Helped Bill with papers. Went to SS with Gregory. Went shopping. Hot & humid. Relaxed. Stan put up swings. Watched TV. All were tired.
Mon – Start of Bible School. F,G,H,D & E went. Went to store. Planted flowers. Washed clothes. Started to rain. Took down clothes & hung inside. Poured rain. Took Plymouth to get checked over.
Tue – Carol’s birthday (14). Kids went to Bible School. Baked cake. Grandpa came. Took Carol shopping. Carol got clock, transistor, lipstick & money. Went to bookmobile & store. Took Carol & Cheryl Watson bowling.
Wed – Went to Bible School to play piano. Stayed. Cleaned kitchen & bathroom. Karen Steincamp came & stayed for supper. Carol, Elaine, JoEllen went to Ladies night ballgame. Stan took them & visited Mom.
Thu – Went to Bible School. Washed clothes. Folded & Ironed. Stan watched Dave play ball (LL). Dave hit a triple. Watched TV.
1965
Sat – Battery on Plymouth dead. Stan took Ford. Dad came out. Kids helped me clean house. Watched TV. Kids got baths.
Sun – Slept late. Didn’t go to SS. Went to Haines. Bought John Charles grad. Present. Bill went to John’s party. Worked occupation puzzles. Stan & I went in to Mom’s. Mary was there.
Mon – Washed clothes. Ironed. Fixed roast. Hoed garden. Weeded strawberries. Watered them. Watched TV.
Tue – Sewed Dad’s cloth shopping bag. Mended clothes. Baked brownies. Went to store.
Wed – Washed clothes. Carol weeded for party. Boys cut grass. Bill fixed rust on Plymouth. Carol opened presents. Got Lady Remington, robe, makeup & money. Had watermelon for dessert. Knitted. Watched TV. Took bath.
Thu – Kids cleaned cellar. We weeded & gathered up stones. Went to TOPS. Mary E & Lois tied for queen (-2) and Mary P was pig (+2)
Fri – We all cleaned house. Washed clothes & ironed. Went shopping for Carol’s party. Bill stopped at Isalys. Stan went for chairs for Carol’s party. Kids took baths.
1966
Sun – Didn’t go to SS or church. Weeded garden. Took nap. Fixed roast. Stan went in to see Mom. Relaxed.
Mon – Washed clothes. Hot (92 degrees). Kids squirted hose. Carol helped Bible school. Folded & ironed. Went to store. Stan went bowling. Cut & washed my hair.
Tue – Went back to bed. Finished baby mittens. Went to doctors & store. Carol painted upstairs. Played cards.
Wed – Straightened up. Baked pie & cookies. Read. Started to knit face mask. Stan cut grass in front and on hill.
Thu – Rainy day. Cleaned out boys drawers. Took clothes to Goodwill. Got Carol’s birthday cake. Fixed chicken. Didn’t go to TOPS. Stan took Carol, Elaine & Frank bowling.
Fri – Washed clothes. Children helped clean. Ironed, folded & put away clothes. Made chili. Went to meat store & Haines.
Sat – Cleaned bathroom & cellar. Gave boys haircuts. Took shower. Stan & I stopped at shopping center. Went to Dad’s, Mom’s and Stella’s. Bill called to work today at H. Johnson.
1967
Mon – Washed clothes. Burned rubbish. Folded & ironed. Stan took boys to ball game (Jayhawks 17 – Orioles 10). Straightened house.
Tue – Hot again (92 degrees). Went to PP clinic. Went to store. Made pillow covers. Carol came home. Went to Sears. Got Julie shoes. Laura Dee treated to orange drink. Stan watered garden.
Wed – Washed clothes & living room drapes. Washed windows. Ironed & hung drapes. Elaine, Ivan & Greg went swimming. Boys went to game (Jayhawks 10 – Bluejays 5) Stan & I went to drive-in (“Dr Zhivago”)
Thu – Ruth Patton called. Packed picnic lunch. Took Carol for driving test. Passed. Gang went out to Martha’s. David & Greg stayed home. Carol went to Suzy’s. I went to TOPS (-3 ½)
Fri – Washed clothes. Pump broke. Squeezed by hand. Carol baked her cake. Went to store for candy. Frank & Harry went swimming. Had Jane for birthday dinner. Barry & Suzy stopped over.
Sat – Kids helped clean house. Stan had day off. Fixed washer & worked outside. I mended. Elaine went swimming. Carol went with Ondich’s. Very hot & humid.
Sun – Didn’t go to SS. Baked coffee cake for Father’s day. Stan worked outside. Mended. Ate early. Went to Helen’s for Kathleen’s graduation. Stopped at Dad’s.
1968
Wed – Washed clothes. Ironed. Took kids swimming. G, H & I. Bought another pass. Knitted. Stan took Frank to game (Blue Jays 2 – Orioles 0) Took fan back to Iames.
Thu – Rain. Went to store. A&P, Haines & K-Mart. Got Father’s day gifts. Bill H. stopped out. Stan called. Went out to dinner. Made strawberry whipped cream cake. Carol home late. Called about ride. Took Julie to playground. (Jayhawks 18 – Orioles 17)
Fri – Carol took car to work. Went to Dads & ballgame (Pirates 3 – Astros 0). Cleaned house. Washed clothes. Stan went to golf party & country club. Worked in yard. Cut Mrs. Iames’ hair.
Sat – Carol came home from Grandpas. Stan had to work. Went shopping with Elaine. Got bathing suit. Went shopping with Carol. Carol got kids from swimming. Got ax. Chopped Rose of Sharon. Watched TV & knitted. Wrote checks.
Sun – Father’s day & Carol’s birthday. Washed clothes. Baked cake. Elaine decorated house. Fixed roast. Stan got bottle capper, (?)shirt & T-shirts. Carol hurt. Went to see Eleanor, Dad & Mom. Gave gifts.
Mon – Carol started riding to work. Washed clothes. Went for building permit. Dave knocked down porch & steps. Nail jabbed foot. Took Dave to hospital. Stan took kids to ballgame (Minors Parrots 6 – Jayhawks 5) (Majors Parrots 7 – Orioles 6). Carol went shopping.
Tue – Carol took car. Stayed in town then went to ballgame. Cut grass and David chopped trees & stumps. Stan took kids to game (Jayhawks 33 – Parrots 6).
