1974

Mon – School. Bill fixed hot water heater. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Changed sheets. Called Stella. Grace called. Wrote contests.

Tue – School. Straightened house. Showered. Took Ivan to dental clinic. Went to store & bank & K-Mart. Got for Harry’s birthday. Called Barb Dyson. Bill started experiment.

Wed- School. Made apple pie. Straightened. Took Harry to Pitt Dental. Brought Elaine home. Fixed supper. Bill took Elaine back. Carol brought her stereo. Read.

Thu – School. Ivan home sick. Bronchitis. Grace called. Washed clothes. Washed mattress cover of my bed. Cleaned bed. Read story. Dan Arico came. Played cards.

Fri – Cleaned. Gave money for card party tickets. Went to bank & store. Made cheese bread & cheese cake. Kids went to student faculty basketball game.

Sat – Up early. Showered. Fixed breakfast for Stan & me. Went to State College to get Dave. Rain & foggy. Got honey. Home at 4:30. Stan had made chili. Made cake & ice tea.

Sun – Called Marion. Fixed pancakes. Nice day. Washed clothes. Bill took everyone to shop to work. Carol & Jim came. Elaine & Norm came. Had cake for Harry. Harry got basketball, ping pong balls & paddle, kite & yo-yo plus clothes.

1975

Tue – School. Frank went to shop. Stan & Dan went to see Mr. Engel. Went to bank & store. Baked cookies. Stan went back to shop. Worked on accounting.

Wed – School. Worked on Julie’s coat & finished my accounting project. Cut out slacks & bolero for Julie. Went to night school & stopped at store. Called Mary. Frank went to recruiters.

Thu – School. Frank went late. Expelled. Sewed Julie’s things. Washed clothes. Watched TV. Marion called.

Fri – School. Took Harry & Greg to Pitt Dental. Went to town about food stamps. Picked them up at Elaine’s. Cleaned living room. Took Harry shopping for birthday. Ivan went to dance. Frank saw man at Marines.

Sat – Dave home late last night. Washed clothes. Made kapusta. Signed kids for baseball. Went to dairy & store. Called Mary. Kids watched TV late.

Sun – Marion called. Made French toast. Took Dave to Arico for measurement. Julie went to birthday party. Made sponge cake & chiffon cake. Had strawberries & whipped cream.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept. Dave mopped. Dave got new trousers. Frank took Marine physical (passed). Harry home late. Had cake. Harry got bat, tennis racket & balls.

1976

Wed – School. Made rice krispies & baked cake. Finished sewing outfit. Went to card party at Large Fire hall (Middle School 6^th grade project). Nice day. Stan & I went to funeral home (Laura Dee’s mother). Gave cake. Manpower called.

Thu – School. Stan drove Frank to work. Called Carol. Washed clothes. Pruned grapes & buildt fire at garden. Baked cake. Started Harry’s booties. Went to store. Elaine called Had good interview.

Fri – School. Drove Frank to work. Stan went to W. Va. Called about GED. Cleaned house well. Took kids to Marks (not there). Took to student faculty basketball. Went to store.

Sat – Washed clothes. Took Harry. Signed up he & Julie for Boro ball. Took Harry to school practice. Elaine & friend Randy came for supper (walked out). Watched TV. Power off. Carol & Jim came out in new car.

Sun (Feb 29) – Nice day. Read paper. Stan & I pruned trees. Had argument with Frank about night school. Felt blue. Windy.

Mon – School. Stan drove Frank. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Changed sheets. Took Frank to McKeesport night school. Home late.

Tue – School. Stan drove Frank. Called Carol. Had late shower. Went to bank & store. Took Harry’s baseball glove to school. Took Harry to store for tennis shoes. Watched “Mash”. Called Marion

Wed – School. Drove Frank. Went to shop with Stan. Washed glassware. Iced cake in afternoon. Had steaks. Harry got new tennis shoes & sweater & kite. Frank didn’t come home for supper. Went to Grants. Rain.

1977

Fri – School. Cleaned house. Carol came for lunch. Gave her company books. Went to store. Harry picked up Greg at Leb. Church Rd. Watched SST – Death Flight. Kids watched “Monty Python Holy Grail”.

Sat – Washed clothes. Mended. Kids cleaned & played basketball. Harry had basketball practice (school). Marion called. Baked lemon meringue pie & cake. Watched TV. Andre Previn & “Upstairs, Downstairs”.

Sun – Read paper. Kids played basketball. Stan took Greg for driving lesson in Subaru. Harry at Benack’s for rehearsal. Kids got baths. Watched TV.

Mon – Up early. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Stan went to VA Hosp. “iritis”. Changed sheets. Went to bank & store. Stan & I went to Marion’s for dinner. Nice. Dave came later in evening.

Tue – School. New snow. Called Frances Crain. Wrote Elaine. Worked on Stan’s sport coat. Harry had baseball practice in evening. Seeds came. Watched TV.

Wed – School. Worked on jacket. Stan went to store. Had fresh fish & fr. fries. Julie & I went to Hornes for shoes. Car wouldn’t start. Stan came & jumped it.

Thu – School. Bob Iames came over. Washed clothes. Stan drove me to Hornes. Exchanged. Stopped at Haines & K-Mart. Mended clothes.

1978

Sat – Light snow. Stan went to shop. Washed clothes. Made pork & sauerkraut & chocolate souffle. Went to store. Took pop bottles & bags of clothes to Salvation Army thing.

Sun – Read paper. Made French toast. Bill came. Looked over Simca – gave up. I made stuffed peppers & pies. Watched “How West was Won”. Harry worked.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Changed sheets. Got Frank up to look for work. Pontiac wouldn’t start. Greg got ride. Played cards. Stan went to milk store.

Tue – School. Harry drove Greg to work. Harry took Subaru – went to town for Civil Service Exams. Stan took Pontiac. Cleaned out ref. & 1 cupboard. Harry had baseball practice. Dave came here after work. Took car to Gouker’s. Stayed overnight.

Wed – School. Cleaned kitchen cupboards. Cleaned out spices. Read Newsweek. Made rolls. Called Eleanor. Went to store. Stan called Stella. Bill H. hurt back. Dave here.

Thu – School. Drove Stan to work. Drove Greg & went to store. Washed clothes. Took Dave to apartment to get clothes. Got Stan. Had fr. fish. Played cards. Watched TV. Frank helped Dave. Dave slept here.

Fri – School. Snow. Called Mary. Baked cake (chocolate & choc. icing). Cleaned kitchen & bath. Made lasagna. Stan went to bank. Harry took car. Harry got wetting solutions, razorblades & money. Dave was here. Sewed sweater.
