Thu – School. Ice everywhere. Buses 2 hrs. late. Took down Christmas tree & decorations. Stored. Kids moved furniture. Light snow & ice. Watched TV.

Fri – School. Cleaned living room & kitchen. Went to dentist (Dr. Charlton ($8.00) Went to store. Had roast beef. Stan & I played ping-pong. Called Stella.

Sat – Washed clothes. Stan worked at shop. Made pies & made stuffed peppers. Elaine had Heather here to babysit. Watched TV & read.

Sun – Read paper. Elaine washed clothes & gathered stuff. Made beef stroganoff. Took Elaine back. Greg & Harry came too. Light snow. Kids got baths.

1975

Wed – Slept late. Made ice tea & chicken soup. Watched football on TV. Penn State 41 – Baylor 20. USC 18 – Ohio St. 17. Notre Dame 13 – Alabama 11. Cut kids hair. Kids got baths.

Thu – Kids back to school. Washed clothes. Took down tree and all Christmas decorations. Went to store. Tired. Marion called. Stan & Frank went to shop.

Fri – School. Cleaned living room, etc. Took Dave to bus station. Stan went to Hydro-Carbide. Cleaned kitchen & bath. Went to store. Pd K-Mart. Called Priscilla Austin.

Sat – Washed clothes. Ivan got & painted box to keep things. Frank went with Stan to shop (in morn.) Fixed cheese on toast. Rested. In even. Went to Grants for credit on bill & Krogers. Called Carol & Florence Ashton.

Sun – Nice day. Took shower. Read paper. Took hike with Kevin, Julie & Ivan. Went to McKee’s Hill. Very muddy. Kids played football. Made cherry pies. Kids got baths. Stella & Bill stopped late.

Thu – Slept late. Harry & Ivan stayed up all night. Watched football on TV. Carol & Jim came. Elaine & Mary called. Arkansas 24 – Georgia 10. UCLA 23 – Ohio St. 10. Oklahoma 14 – Michigan 6.

Fri – Bill picked up Harry to Oakland library. Went to store. Made chicken soup & pies. Elaine & Dottie came for supper & eve. Washed clothes. Got Dave from work.

Sat – Took down all Christmas decorations & X-mas tree. Light snow. Buildt fire. Stan worked on ditch around shop. Started sleeve on Harry’s sweater.

Sun – Cold. Read paper. Watched Steelers beat Oakland 16-10. Dallas beat Los Angeles 37-7. Stan buildt fire. Kids got baths. Tried cooking potato peels.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Called Eleanor & Mary. Mary going to Louisiana. Changed sheets. Dan came. Told about patent returned.

Tue – School. Went to bank. Wouldn’t cash check (NSF). Went to store. Dave took car 1-10. Made stuffed peppers. Ivan home sick. Car over-heated.

1977

Sat – Watched Pitt 27 – Georgia 3 game. Made soup. Eleanor called. Aunt Lavina here. Carolyn & Bill came for heating coil. USC 14 – Michigan 6. Called Dave. Ohio State beat Colorado.

Sun – Slept late. Read paper. Stan got milk & let Harry practice drive on Subaru. Stan, Julie & I went to Eleanor’s to see Aunt Lavina. Had late supper. Played cards. Dave came.

Mon – School. Snow. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Changed sheets. Took down X-mas cards. Played cards. Dave stopped for clothes. Took icicles off tree.

Tue – School. Went to store. Took down X-mas tree & decorations. Stan took Ivan to dental clinic & Siegel’s. Kids got report cards – good grades. Called Eleanor. Gave hair cuts.

Wed – School. Cleaned kitchen cupboards. Ground bread crumbs. Ivan brought home golden kitty. Played cards. Made apple cake.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Went to Clairton. Got milk & shampoo. Washed golden kitty. Marion called. Played cards with kids. Made fudge.

Thu – Kids up at 20 minutes to 5. Opened presents about 8:30. Baked rolls. Wendy came with Bill at 2:00. Had supper here. Left to go back. Greg came.

Fri – Straightened house. Went to K-Mart & Southland. Tired. Snowed. Stan went bowling. Called Stella.

Sat – Stuffed turkey. Washed clothes. Carol & I went shopping. Greg came for supper. Stella, Caroline, Bob & boys came for evening. Dave & Carol had dates.

Sun – Carol went to church with Greg. Went to Haines. Stan & I visited Dad & his Pap. Played 66. Beat Stan 2 games.

Mon – No school. Vacation. Washed clothes. Cleaned out fire place. Had argument with Elaine. Packed suitcase. Went in to Dad’s for rest.

Tue – At Dad’s. Went to store for Mary. Cut out & sewed dress. Crocheted Carol’s hat. Called Pat Cocuzzi & Mary Narvin.

Wed – Went to town. Sewed. Crocheted. Went to Eleanor’s for steak dinner. Stan came. We went down to his Dad’s. Had rye bread & corn beef sandwiches.

1970

Thu – No school. Kids cleaned. Went to store Finished Dave’s pjs. Bought last minute gifts. Made more nut roll. Frank & Elaine helped Santa. Took pictures.

Fri – Opened presents about 9:15. Bill worked. Kids played & sold extra papers. Took pictures. Went to Dad’s & Caroline’s. Snow-bad. Greg & Diane stayed all night.

Sat – Washed clothes. Fixed turkey. Carol helped wash. Went to store. Diane & Greg helped straighten house. Cleaned turkey for tomorrow.

Sun – Put away boxes & wrappings. Read paper. Stan & I went to Woody’s for spaghetti. Carol & Greg came later. Stan & I went to Eastland. Saw “Scrooge”.

Mon – Stan home sick – cold. Washed clothes. Elaine went to town. Stan went bowling. Bullet hole in front window. Greg brought Hen out.

Tue – Went to Southland. Lunch. Went to town. Took back trouser. Ordered mirror. Elaine made lasagna. Picked up Carol from work. Relaxed.

Thu – Kids helped clean house. Cleaned kitchen. Went to Bartolotta. Greg got Don & Marion. Carol J. & Jane came. Had wonderful party. Everyone stayed overnight. Carol & gang went sled riding.

Fri – Kids cleaned. Stan cleaned living room. Went to store. Waited for Carol & Jim. Watched Beethoven on TV. They came late. Exchanged presents. Carol tried on dresses. Kept one.

Sat – X-mas. Opened gifts at 8:00. Cleaned up paper. Rested (fell asleep). Baked ham. After supper, went to Caroline’s. Stopped at my Dad’s. Called Carol.

Sun – Fixed turkey. Tried to straighten up house. Went to Carol’s. Dave drove kids out to Carol’s. Had turkey dinner. Chopped left-overs. Stan rolled off.

Mon – No school. Washed clothes. Took clothes back to x-change. Got Carol new dresses. Carol & Jim stopped. Stan & I went to show. “Katch” & went to Woody’s. Nice night.

Tue – Elaine had car. Swept cellar. Dave mopped. Washed hair. Cleaned out refridg. Made fire. John Charles & Jim Lucast stopped. Bill H. came out. Talked. Dave worked night.

Wed – Went to Zaire & Eastland Kids went to Conklins. Called Eleanor. Stan home late. Wrote thank you notes. Watched TV.

Thu –Washed clothes. Folded & put away. Went to store. Rained. Dave & I went to Paydays. Got things for New Years Party.

Fri – Stan home. Went to store. Cleaned kitchen & living room. Kids cleaned. Fixed shrimp. Stan made fire. Bill H. & Bruce came out. Andrea stayed overnight. Had pizza & sandwiches.

1972

Sun – Made chicken soup for tomorrow. Cleaned kitchen. Stan got milk. Carol & Jim came with presents. Power went off. Santa came by candlelight.

Mon – X-mas. Opened gifts about 8:30. Santa forgot 2 bags. Julie got Big Wheel. Fellows shot darts. Stan fell asleep. Played cards. Dad & Mary came for lunch.

Tue – Marion called. Went to K-Mart & Barto. Made spaghetti. Dave & I went to South Hills Village. Stopped at Marions. Both asleep. Left.

Wed – Kids fighting. Bad day. Washed clothes. Kids cleaned cellar. Stuffed turkey. Dave shut off gas. Didn’t eat until 10:10 PM. Dishes late. Bill got Jaguar.

Thu – Worked on business accounts & billings. Got shower. Stan & I went with Phil Cravener to Gaslight. Nice night.

Fri – Went to store. Mended clothes. Went to bank. Wrote checks & thank you notes. Played cards.

Sat – Washed clothes. (5 loads) Kids cleaned. David took car. Fixed banana pudding. Dave & I went to State store (closed) & Paydays.

Sun – Very warm. Was to go to Carol’s. Not home. Went to Haines. David hitch-hiked to Pgh. Elaine worked. Had Smorgasbord. Just family. Fixed fondue.

Mon – Washed clothes. Swept cellar & had kids mop. Rearranged. Went to store. Made chop suey. Carol & Jim came. Kaz called. Only one with outside lights. Kids put up table.

Tue – Christmas. Kids up at 5:30 & then went back to bed. Opened presents. Table tennis & winter jackets. Stan took kids to Pap’s & Caroline’s. I straightened house. Bob & Bryon H. came out.

Wed – Trouble with truck. Rain. Went to town. Crowded. Went to K-Mart. Xchanged gifts. Worked on Elaine’s footlets.

Thu – Slept late. Read story. Straightened house. Washed clothes. Had turkey dinner. Stan & I saw “The Way We Were”. Stan bought me “Wild Musk”.

Sat – Washed clothes. Kids cleaned. Thoroughly cleaned bathroom. Embroidered Dad & Mary’s pillowcase. Carol had date. Stan stayed up to read.

Sun – Embroidered other pillow case. Rain. Read paper. Went to Haines & White Cross. Baked cake. Got call. Bill was in. Carol took kids out to airport. Visited. Bill went to Wendy’s.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Folded & Ironed. Changed sheets. Swept & mopped cellar. Went to Foodland & K-Mart. Sewed. Stan went bowling.

Tue – School. Washed hair. Finished Carol’s outfit & mended. Baked pies. Andrea & Bill H. stayed for supper. Planted 2 cedar trees. Started on X-mas cards.

Wed – School. Cleaned bath wall tiles & waxed. Went to store. Started Carol’s purse.

Sun – Baked cake. Read paper. Went to Haines. Called Carol. Made Sukiyaki. Watched TV. Kids got baths. Elaine & Dave went to LRY.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Ironed. Dave home. Went to Zayres. Shopped. Stan went bowling. I went in to Dad’s.

Tue – School. Swept & mopped cellar. Made corn beef & cabbage. Went to store. Showered.

Wed – School. Fr. home sick. Made banana cream pie. Went to TV stamp. Got new ironing board. Stopped at Haines. Cut out Julie’s nightgown. Sewed. Called Stella.

Thu – School. Dave & Bill home. Washed clothes. Went to K-Mart. Put on new ironing pad. Ironed. Finished Julie’s nightgown. Watched TV. Started X-mas cards. Dave took Greg to Dr. Siegel.

Sun – Stan & fellows went to shop to work on Datsun. Jim helped. Went to Haines. Elaine worked. Kids worked on puzzles. Got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Made beds. Went to Foodland & K-Mart.

Tue – School. Eleanor called. Picked up puzzle. Cleaned living room. Marion called. Worked puzzle. Bill H. came. Finished up work on Datsun. Cat got into the cake.

Wed – School. Wrapped X-mas presents. Took them to the shop. Stan got me milk. Started on X-mas cards. Buildt fire.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Showered & washed hair. Stan & Frank went to football banquet. Went to town. Got credit on shoes.

Fri – School. Ironed. Called on phone about X-mas tree. Worked on Christmas cards. Harry had X-mas practice.

Sat – Washed clothes. Stan home. Went to Pennys and Bartolotta’s. Julie saw Santa. Jay from Ohio came for E. (she went to work). Went to K-Mart. Played cards.

Tue – School. Made Carol’s night gown. Carol came for lunch. Called Grace Pavelko. Took Harry to Horne’s.

Wed – School. Sewed Elaine’s night gown. Made me a half slip. Car wouldn’t start. Put on charger. Went to Grant City. Carol came for lunch.

Thu – School. Sewed Julie’s nightgown. Started skirt. Bill & Harry worked on my car (Put new water pump). Frank, Stan & I went to football banquet.

Fri – School. Ivan home sick. Cleaned living room & bedroom. Addressed Christmas cards. Read paper & knitted.

Sat – Washed clothes. Kids cleaned. Greg or Harry didn’t go to Jim’s. Worked on Christmas cards. Carol came. We went to Sears. She bought me my birthday present.

Sun – Light snow. Ivan baked cake. My car wouldn’t start. No acid in battery. Stan drove me to store. Knitted Elaine’s slipper socks. Did cards for shop.
