Thu – School. Washed clothes. Cleaned cellar. Cleaned kitchen. Straightened house. Tom Sorockman came for supper. Stan home late. Polink, Fiore & Smaira stopped

Fri – School. Ironed clothes. Went to bank & Krogers. Cleaned up lunch. Started for store. School called for me to get Greg. Swollen foot. Took Julie & Ivan to gym show.

Sat – Stan went to ball field. Washed clothes. Cleaned bathroom. Frank had practice. Went to dentist. Carol & I went to Eastland. Stan worked on ball field. Ordered new mower blades.

Sun –Read paper. Went to Haines. Weeded in front & planted flowers. Sprinkled. Stan put up hook. Stan took kids to ball field. Took kids to Al’s. Took baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Ironed clothes. Planted phlox. Stan & I cut grass.

Tue – School. Started Carol’s dress. Went to Option & A&P. Planted flowers & put around peat. Went to K-Mart & school. Had PTA about art. Stan got Carol from school.

1970

Thu – School. Carol took car. Washed clothes. Planted petunias on side of house. Ironed. Went with Stan. Car shopping. Put money down on two (Buick & Pontiac Firebird)

Fri – School. Went to bank & store. Went to Bartolattas. Wendy came. Talked.

Sat – Washed clothes. Carol & Stan went to car dealers. Rain. Cleaned. Carol & Greg saw “The Doors”. Wrote Bill a letter. Went to K-Mart in new car. Stan went to Sears in new car.

Sun – Read paper. Baked cake. Carol & Greg went to Jamies. Stan, Julie, Ivan & I went to art show. Stopped at store. Planted geraniums. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Straightened. Took Mrs. Iames to store. Took Greg’s gym thing to school. Ironed. School bus got stuck in front. Weeded & fixed strawberries. Stan ordered flower for banquet. Dad called.

Tue – School. Went to store. Baked cookies – 3 kinds. Stan went to Metallurgy meeting. Went to PTA. Had refreshments. All went well.

Wed – School. Finished Elaine’s skirt. Went to store. Cut out & sewed Elaine’s blouse. Finished blouse. Carol worked on school work.

Fri – School. Knitted Julie’s poncho. Worked on strawberries. Dave cut front grass. Watched TV.

Sat – Washed clothes. Baked pies. Elaine had achievement tests. Went to store. Dave helped & we worked on strawberries. Showered. Stan & I went to McKeesport to hear “H.M.S. Pinafore”. Very good.

Sun – Rainy day. Baked cake. Read paper. Gave Stan, Greg, Harry & Ivan haircuts. Had steak. Carol brought Allen home. Kids got baths. Watched TV. Knitted.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Changed sheets. Drove to Oakland – Bill’s key broke. Watched TV.

Tue – School. Baked cream puffs. Went to PTA board meeting. Baked cookies. Bill & Stella stopped out. Stan went out. Started fringe on Julie’s poncho.

Wed – School. Greg home sick. Cleaned kitchen & cupboards. Finished Julie’s poncho. Planted roses. Picked up Carol from work. (Rain.) Watched TV.

Sun – Made ice tea & juice. Lost hr (daylight savings). Stan worked on back steps. Kids had big hike. Baked cake. Bill, Fr & Elaine worked. Greg K. stopped out. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Stan home (tired). Tried to work on Plymouth. Washed clothes. Took Julie to dental clinic (Clairton). Dave swept cellar. Mopped. Worked outside.

Tue – School. Made rhubarb pie & pie shells. Worked outside on trees. Dave & kids cut grass. Kids had ball practice. Stan looked at Comets. Rained.

Wed – School. Made pudding pies. Went to Murphy Mart & Kroger. Drove Dave to school. Washed clothes. Went to Eastland. Stan worked on steps. Crocheted. Played cards.

Thu – School. Thoroughly cleaned bedroom & living room. Elaine worked. Went to Murphy Mart. Got evergreens & petunias.

Fri – School. Cleaned kitchen. Baked pineapple cake (too crumbly). Planted plants. Elaine took test at Pitt. Went early to LRY. I drove Dave over. Stopped at store.

Sat – Met LRY kids (they stayed up most of night). Left early. Washed clothes. Planted petunias & geraniums. Played cards.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Ironed. Took kids to practice. Bill cut front grass. Went to store & K-Mart.

Tue – School. Painted upstairs furniture with base coat. Went to PTA meeting. Installation of officers. Got scrap book & ear rings. Cut grass. Went to bookmobile. Ivan went to Middle School.

Wed – School. Took Elaine to work. Cut grass. Did antiquing. Took Ivan to dental clinic. Orthodontist. Took Ivan to ball game. Got lost coming home.

Thu – School. Painted. Washed clothes. Took Ivan to game. Took Harry to concert at Middle School. Went to K-Mart.

Fri – School. Snow flurries. Antiqued furniture. Baked pumpkin cookies & made meat loaf. Stella called. Read “For Those I Love”.

Sat – Washed clothes. Went to store. Bill, Frank went to shop. Elaine took Ivan & Julie to Kennywood for Patrol picnic. Varnished furniture. Read “For Those I Loved”. Finished book.

Sun – Nice day. Made juice, cup cakes. Went to Dad’s. Sorted. Brought more home. Carol & Jim stopped to look at stove. Stopped at Caroline’s. Had late supper. Typed invoices. Kids got baths.

Thu – School. Sewed Carol’s dress. Went to store. Fixed stuffed shad (ugh). Took David for driving lesson. Saw “The Face of War” on TV.

Fri – School. Frank stayed home. Worked on hill toward Iames. Planted grass. Cut out Elaine’s dress. Dug hole for clothes post. Stan tamped it in.

Sat – Stan worked. Took Harry to see Matty Alou at Roosevelt. David drove. Went to store. Washed clothes. Kids cleaned. Fixed stuffed chicken. Went to Clabers. Carol went to horse show.

Sun – Read paper. Dug up weeds in front. Spread on lawn food & sprinkled lawn. Stan, Julie & I went to see Dad & Grandpap. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Burned rubbish & ironed. Baked cup cakes. Went to Cub Scout meeting. Took kids. Dave went to ball game. Picked him up in Oakland.

Fri – School. Rain. Ironed clothes. Went to Bartolatta’s. Made spaghetti. Frank missed bus. Dave picked up Elaine after school. Rearranged & cleaned boys bedroom.

Sat – Nice day. Washed clothes. Burned rubbish. Ironed. Went to K-Mart. Dave got haircut. Sprayed with chickweed killer. Bill H. came. Gathered up scrap. Carol & Greg went to Ohio.

Sun – Up early. Baked cake. Cleaned kitchen. Washed windows. Elaine & Terry got suntan. Greg, Patti & Fred (Carol’s friends) came for supper. Nice day. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Elaine home sick (sun poisoning). Washed clothes. Ironed & folded. Changed sheets. Watered grass.

Tue – School. Made banana cream pie. Washed window upstairs& put in screen Went to store. Put out flowers along front walk. Watered grass & plants. Took Elaine for glasses. Stan went bowling.

Wed – School. Worked outside. Planted geraniums. Went to PTA meeting. Went to K-Mart. Stan & I put moth balls around trees. Went to K-Mart again. Got Frank tennis shoes & peat moss.

Fri – School. Wrote checks. Went to bank & store. Went to K-Mart. Got Frank cleat shoes & Ivan glove. Stan & IU took walk. Dave took kids to Siegels to pick up glasses.

Sat – Washed clothes. Stan went to shop. Went to Plaidland & Foodland. Got Carol alarm clock. Watched TV. Called Marion Scheram. Bill brought home friend for supper (John’s son). Dave Conklin came & stayed overnight.

Sun – Cool. Fixed french toast breakfast. Went to Haines. Took Frank & Dave Conklin to ball game. Worked outside. Stan visited Pap. Kids got baths. Dave & Elaine went to LRY.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Planted strawberries. Frank had practice. G & H had practice. Went to town. Got Carol at school. Stan took Ivan & Julie to Cub Scouts.

Tue – School. Straightened. Baked gold loaf cake & white nut cake. Frank had practice. Went to bookmobile & store. Started Julie’s Poncho.

Wed – School. Made cookies. Sewed pot holders. Worked outside on strawberries. Rained in evening. Ivan had practice.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Stan came home sick. Went after salt & to store. Dave went in to get Carol. Watched TV. Chilly.

Sun – Slept late. Read paper. Stan worked on Plymouth. Baked cup cakes. Elaine iced. Frank worked with Bill. Played cards. Planted rose bushes.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Elaine went to South Hills Village. Played cards.

Tue – School. Cleaned kitchen walls. Moved out refrigerator. Voted. David stayed at polls. Watched voting results. Kids had baseball practice.

Wed – School. Cleaned up. Painted side of cabinet. Cut front grass. New stove delivered. Worked around trees. Elaine started new job. Kids had ball practice. Bobby Morris came over. Played cards.

Thu – School. Called Eleanor. Washed clothes. Mended. Straightened house. Bill Hatfield came out.

Fri – School. Went to bank & store. Baked pumpkin cookies. Drove Dave to school. Fixed supper. Drove Elaine to work. Got Dave. Drove kids to ball practice. Dup up front plants.

Sat – Made French toast. Cleaned up. Kids had ball practice. Stan helped Clara move. Carol & Jim came out. Carol & I went shopping. Played cards. Elaine worked.

1973

Mon – No school. Rain. Washed clothes. Went to store. Car got stuck. Bill came with truck. Elaine took us to K-Mart. Walt Slater called. His mother died.

Tue – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Took Chrysler for inspection. Didn’t pass. Stan, Bill, Frank went to shop.

Wed – School. Took Chrysler to be worked on. Called about PTO. Worked on bean sprouts. (They rotted.) Baked cake. Went to funeral home (Mrs. Slivinski).

Thu – School. Washed. Made supper. Iced cake. Took Ivan to dental clinic. Read & wrote recipes. Home late.

Fri – School. Rain. Ivan home sick. Went to bank & store. Straightened house. Tried new recipes. Went to K-Mart.

Sat – Rain. Washed clothes. Cleaned out drawers upstairs & behind eaves. Eleanor & Walt stopped out. Talked of retirement.

Sun – Nice day but cool. Worked in yard. Transplanted gold sedum. Bill & Frank gathered up junk at shop. Typed invoices & end of month bills. Typed PTO installation.

Fri – School. Went to bank & store. Got Bill’s suitcase. Fixed supper for Bill & kids. Rain storm. Carol late. Went to PTA card party. Said good-bye to Bill. Wendy drove him to airport.

Sat – Cold & rainy. Stan worked on lawn mower & went for bowling play-off. Carol & I went shopping. Got material, etc. Sewed Elaine’s bell bottoms (too big).

Sun – Nice day. Took Dave for driving lesson. Went to Haines. Dave & I cut grass. Stan put up grape arbor posts. Took kids to Al’s. Stan & I went to town to see “Sweet Charity”.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Made gelatin salad. Ironed. Went to K-Mart. Rained. Mary & Carol called. Picked Carol up early in town.

Tue – School. Finished Elaine’s slacks. Cleaned kitchen. Made custard. Sewed Elaine’s shirt. Put matting around grapes & trees. Stan got Carol. Got ticket.

Sat – Beautiful day. Washed clothes. Went to store. Stan made wall near steps. Boys shoveled dirt. Weeded. Carol made tacos. Carol & Greg went to drive-in. Took bath.

Sun – Rain. Read paper. Stan went to bowl off. Went to Arcadian Garden. Bought Mugo Pine & grass seed. Bobby Stinner came to play. Stan visited Pap. Carol made cookies. Kids got baths.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Made more kapusta. Straightened things from Dad’s. Watched Waltons. Sewed.

Fri – No school. Stan went to Dr. Hot day. Cleaned bedroom. Did breakfast cleanup. Made nut rolls. Carol & Jim came out (twice). Went to store. Stan , Carol & Jim went bowling.

Sat – Washed clothes. Finished Julie’s dress. Cleaned living room. Felt very depressed. Made potatoes salad.

Sun – Easter. Kids found baskets. Nice day. Cut front grass. Julie & I went to Marion’s. Got bushes. Planted them. Bill Hatfield came out. Brought old washer. Julie had ear ache.

Sat – Kids signed up for baseball. Carol went to Eastland. Washed clothes & ironed. Bill went out for dinner. Stan went to Hatfield’s. Cleaned kitchen.

Sun – Took David to Sparkle for 1^st day work. Cut out Carol’s dress. Went to Haines. Made meat loaf, cole slaw. Stan & Bill went to visit Grandpap, Dad & Hatfields.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Sewed Carol’s pink dress. Made rolls. Stan went to Carbide Eng. Got Carol at bus stop.

Tue – School. Carol took car & went to Dr. Siegel’s & work. Redid Carol’s dress. Mary, Stella & Bill stopped out in evening.

Fri – School. Swept & mopped cellar. Cleaned kitchen. Sewed & finished Julie’s outfit. Elaine brought Gladys home for supper. Went to store. Stan & I went to drive-in. “True Grit” & “Sterile Cookie”

Sat – Slept little late. Washed clothes. Didn’t iron. Stan went to bank & paid on car rental. Went to South Hills Village. Carol went to wedding with Greg.

Sun – Beautiful day. Dave & I leveled corner. Transplanted silver sagtolina. Stan fixed torn door & pruned trees. Carol took ride with Greg & top down. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Burned rubbish Ironed. Fixed pork roast. Carol had car. Stan took me to Sears & Acme. Got bed frame. Stan fixed it. Didn’t go to Carbide Eng. Hamed called.

Tue – School. Rain. Mended. Baked cookies. Carol home early (cold in eyes). Took Mrs. Iames – went to South Hills Village. Carol went to school. Watched TV. Apollo 13 flight in trouble.

Wed – School. Beautiful day. Made pudding. Washed hair. Burned rubbish & old bed. Weeded. Wrote thank you to Kate for jelly. Watched TV. Gave Stan hair trimming.

Sat – Washed clothes. Dyed eggs. Went to beauty parlor. Had hair cut. Andrea stayed for supper. Went to Dad’s. Nancy & husband Sam Estes were there. Stopped at Pap’s. Not home.

Sun – Easter. Beautiful day. Kids looked for baskets. Hung one outside. Relaxed. Stan set tree stump afire. Greg & Harry slept out. Elaine slept at Andrea’s. Bathed Julie & Ivan. Stan visited Pap.

Mon – No school. Really warm day 70 degrees. Went to Murphy Mart. Got garbage cans. Elaine’s white chair came. Stan went bowling.

Tue – School. Bill got ladders. Stan got supplies. Worked on back. Washed clothes. Folded & ironed. Swept & mopped cellar. Stan went out. Went to store.

Wed – Cleaned out fire place. Washed & cut Julie’s hair. Went to K-Mart. Left Plymouth for front-end alignment. Stan & Bill worked on back trim & gutters. Picked up car & knitted.

Fri – School. Packed kids lunch. Julie & I went to bank, store & Clabers. Had lunch at McDonalds. Elaine & I went shopping for material. Went to bed early.

Sat – Washed clothes. Sewer bad. Stan & Dave started to dig it up. Stan went to hospital for forms & to Eastland. I went to store. Stan went bowling with Carol. Watched TV.

Sun – Nice day. Stan & kids worked on sewer. Spread lawn food. Baked cake. Went to Haines. Stan, Ivan, Julie & I went to Grandpap’s. Got candy.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Sewer perfect. Ironed & put away. Changed sheets. Stan went to Powdered Metals Meeting. Took kids shopping. Got Greg shoes. Made popcorn. Wendy came.

Tue – School. Cut out & sewed Elaine’s top. Cut out & sewed Julie’s dress & pants. Made sponge jelly roll cake with strawberries & whipped cream. Went to PTA meeting at Valley on Narcotics.

Wed – School. Washed clothes. Beautiful day. Went to store. Got wedding present for Carol’s friend. Harry went to scouts. Harry, Greg, Stan & I went to concert at Middle School.

1971

Fri – School. Went to bank & store. Stopped at McDonalds & brought home lunch. Went to K-Mart. Stan went to church banquet with Dad. Bill got Jaguar. Fixed chicken soup, tea & juice.

Sat – Had hair done at Oliveri. Went to store. Folded clothes. Carol fixed supper. Stan & I went to South Hills C.C. for 25^th class reunion. Had good time.

Sun – Phone & door bell – early morning. Tired. Read paper. Worked outside. Stan re-fixed wall for front. Elaine & Dave took Andrea to picnic. They went to LRY. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Frank home (possible pink-eye). Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Ironed. Stan went bowling. Knitted. Went to store. Bill H. & boys came.

Tue – School. Lazy – head cold. Straightened house. Mended & knitted. Had killbossi. Called Eleanor. Went to PTA. About Oxford, Eng.

Wed – School. Made lemon meringue pie. Painted upstairs hall. Relaxed. Watched TV. Went to store. Carol had flat tire & hit dog.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Called about dog Carol hit. Folded & ironed. Dad came out. Made stuffed round steak. Stan went bowling. Dave Conklin stayed overnight. Called Stella.

1972

Sun – Easter. Kids up early. Light snow. Frank’s basket got wet (a little). Had soup & ham sandwiches. Julie & I went to Carol’s. Played cards. Stan & I went bowling.

Mon – No school. Stan worked. Fire at Southland – Kresge’s. Nice day. Kids played outside Washed clothes. Ironed. Changed sheets. Stan went bowling. Went to store. Sam Ambrozia stopped.

Tue – School. Washed clothes. Swept and mopped cellar. Made brownies & pineapple chicken. Elaine drove to Squilla’s.

Wed – School. Straightened house. Read magazines. Mad dough for lady locks. Elaine looked for job.

Thu – School. Julie & I went to Valley. She took pre-school test. Made miniature lady locks. Went to K-Mart. Transplanted tomatoes to peat pots. Sand delivered.

Fri – School. Rain. Washed clothes. Ironed. Cleaned living room. Dad & Elaine came out for Ivan. Ivan & Dad went to Father & Son Banquet. Ivan stayed overnight. Played cards.

Sat – Went to store. Carol & Jim stopped. We didn’t go shopping. Went to K-Mart. Made spaghetti & meat balls. Stan & I went shopping for stoves. Just looked. Stan & Bill went bowling.

1973

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Sorted Dad’s things. Took Ivan to dental clinic. Wrote letters. Home late. Typed invoices. Stan & Bill went to shop.

Tue – School. Went to Kroger Grand opening. Straightened house. Made galumpkies. Wrote David.

Wed – School. Rain. Went to PTA Board meeting. Stan home sick. Got milk. Called on phone. Elaine came home. Washed clothes. Went to K-Mart.

Thu – Washed clothes. Harry home sick. Swept & mopped cellar. Went to cat demonstration. Got $3.50. Regina Hatfield went too. Called Dorothy Demmler. Typed.

Fri – School. Harry home. Called Marilyn. Cleaned living room, kitchen, bedroom. Harry listened to opening game P 7 – Card 5. Hits 15 51, 6 95 (2 error). Blew eggs out of shells. Mixed cookie dough.

Sat – Tired. Made scrambled eggs. Took Ivan to practice. Frank had double header. Kids cleaned & cut back grass. Rain. Sprinkled grass seed. Dyed egg shells. Made cookies.

Sun – Read paper. Made French toast. Went in to Dad’s. Sorted. Stan fixed supper. Called Carol.
