Mon – Elaine went for job interview. Washed clothes. Elaine washed. Changed sheets. Iced birthday cake. Rain storm. Stan home late. Julie opened presents. Had cake. Frank took kids to Dodge kids concert.

Tue – Went to bank & store. Took Greg to Pitt Dental. Kids swept & mopped cellar. Took Julie, Ivan & Karen out to H.J. for birthday dinner. Stopped at Children’s Palace.

Wed- Took Stan’s car for tail pipe. Bill worked on it (Frank helped). Sewed Julie’s outfit. Called about joining Sunnyhill. Kids put on show.

Thu – Washed clothes. Took kids swimming. Made apple pizza & apple pie. Went swimming in evening. Washed hair. Sewed Julie’s outfit.

Fri – Julie sick. Stan took my car. Cleaned house. Kids went swimming. Got Stan’s car. Got milk & went to store. Went swimming. Stan went to shop. Visited Mrs. Iames. Ivan cut front grass.

Sat – Washed clothes. Gave Stan haircut. Frank helped Bill forge. Julie, Ivan, Stan & I went to wedding in Latrobe (Adolph Kaszycki). Very nice. Took pictures.

Sun – Rain. Called Marion. Mended. Glued carpet to steps. Kids went swimming. Went to Ondich’s for Janie’s party. Very nice. Gave money. Kids went to Community Day.

1975

Tue – Drove Stan to work & went to store. Weeded & watered front grass. Went swimming. Bill came to help with car. Went swimming again in eve.

Wed – Hot. Baked Julie’s cake & cupcakes. Made chicken salad. Picked beans. Went to Sears. Went swimming in evening. Watered front grass. Watched TV. Julie got clothes & baseball mitt.

Thu – Very hot (96 degrees). Washed clothes. Went swimming. Frank came here. Had chicken soup & pizza. Watched TV. Stan drove Frank home.

Fri – Very hot (96 degrees). Stan took Simca for inspection. Finished Julie’s dress. Picked green beans & froze some. Kids cleaned. Took kids swimming. Went to store. Got Kentucky Fried. Carol stuck with car. Stan got Jim, & took to McKeesport.

Sat – Hot. Took Greg for last poison shot. Went to Grants, got tennis shoes & jeans. Took Julie in afternoon & exchanged jeans & got her jeans. We all went swimming. Chopped veg. for potato salad.

Sun – Hot & humid. Made potato salad. Cleaned bathroom & kitchen. Carolyn & Bill came for birthday supper. All went well. Community Day. Kids went up – Harry & Frank stayed for dance.

Mon – Elaine came. Drove Stan to work & went to bank & paid bills. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Took Elaine shopping. She went to Oakland. Frank came. Typed envelopes – fixed papers.

1976

Thu – Greg & I worked. Stan cooked roast. Kids & I went swimming. Watched Olympics. Dave & Frank worked Ponderosa.

Fri – Greg & I worked. Went to Best Steak House for lunch. Pay day. Kids went swimming. Car (Plymouth) wouldn’t start. Stan fixed. I went to store. Watched Olympics. Julie baked her cake. Julie got clothes.

Sat – Washed clothes. Went to store. Kids went swimming. Picked beans & cucumbers. Made pickles. Watched Olympics at Montreal. Greg fixed supper. Stan went to Hatfields to fix Simca.

Sun – Julie went to Sunday School. Read paper. Cleaned kitchen. Stuffed turkey breast. Community day. Kids went. Watched Olympic closing. Record 48 degrees.

Mon – Greg & I worked. Julie went to Bible School. Julie & Stan fixed supper. Went to store. Marion called. Turned cold – record 50 degrees. Kids washed clothes & swept & mopped. Bill Hatfield came.

Tue – Greg & I worked. Julie went to Bible School. Harry fixed pepper steak. Washed clothes. Bill Hatfield came. Dave worked Ponderosa again.

Wed – Greg & I worked. Greg cut finger. Took him to Homestead Hospital. Went to store. Mary called. Home from Poland.

1977

Fri – Stan went to VA doctors. Eyes good. Greg & Harry went to shop to work. Dave went in afternoon. Stan took car for inspection again. Cleaned. Julie baked her cake.

Sat – Washed clothes. Iced cake. Mrs. Fuccarro made roses. Looked pretty. Julie & I went to store. Got crafts. Had pizza & soup. Had birthday cake after kids home from swimming.

Sun – Nice day. Slept late. Marion called. Had brunch. Kids & I went swimming. Had spaghetti. Dave worked. Gave haircuts. Watched “Poldark” & crocheted.

Mon – Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Julie finished her stichery rabbit. Changed sheets. Greg & Harry went with Stan to Latrobe to get capacitalors. Kids went swimming in evening.

Tue – Went to bank & store. Kids went swimming. Made stuffed peppers & cabbage rolls. Made tapioca. Kids went swimming in evening. Called Mary. Ivan finished grass.

Wed – Harry went to work with Stan. Crocheted afghan & started pillow for Bill’s birthday. Bill called.

Thu – Washed clothes. Kids went swimming. Called Carolyn. Crocheted. Marion called. Worked on weeds & picked tomatoes.

1978

Sat – Took Ivan to Dr. for Xamine. Washed clothes. Greg & Stan worked on pipe of Volvo. Had fresh fish. Took walk in garden. Met Dave & wife (Ramsey). Baked Julie’s cake.

Sun – Nice day. Iced & decorated Julie’s cake. Julie & I went to Eastland – bought birthday presents. Bill & Carolyn came with corn. They stayed for supper – pizza, etc. Harry came home. Girls had surprise party for Julie.

Mon – Dave came. Took car for service. Washed clothes. Stan took Volvo for inspection. Harry drove Greg to work & Ivan to school & got milk. Swept & mopped. Went to store. Called Carol.

Tue – Picked cucumbers. Made pickles. Army man came for Harry. Made rhubarb dessert & roast beef. Mary stopped out. Julie had Bible School.

Wed – Nice. Marion called. Picked beans & beets. Made sauerkraut slaw & puffed rice cookies. Eleanor called. Went to store. Finished reading “Jeremy Poldark”. Gave Stan hair cut. Julie had Bible School. (Harry had physical.)

Thu – Harry drove Greg to work. Washed clothes. Mended. Stan stopped for milk. Stan went to Latrobe. Made filling for cookies. Julie went to Bible School.

Fri – Baked raisin cookies & cake. Cleaned kitchen. Went to Dellalo’s & store. Dave came. Julie had last day Bible School. Harry took Greg’s car.

July 22 - July 28, 1974-1978

1974

Mon – Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Changed sheets. Marion called. Got job. Called Elaine. Watched TV. Stan went to shop. Took shower & washed hair.

Tue – Rain. Baked chocolate cake. Took Ivan to dentist. Stopped at store. Frank took car then Dave. Watched All Star game and Dodge Kids on TV. Knitted. Stan went to Dr. & shop.

Wed- Slept late. Getting head cold. Called Mary Jo & Mrs. O. Cut out Julie’s outfit. Started sewing mine. Frank took Greg to Pitt dentist. Harry played golf & went swimming.

Thu – Washed clothes. Made pierogi & kapusta. Got new muffler for mower & took Greg to Dr. about knee (ok). Kids slept out. Julie slept over at Karen’s.

Fri – Cleaned. Kids cleaned & played football. Julie went swimming. Mary came out with pineapple. Walked around yard. Harry had game (forfeit). Stan worked at shop.

Sat – Stan worked down shop. Washed clothes. Got milk & went to store. Worked on dress. Watched TV. Stan got first gram of silver. Kids cut grass. Cleaned out front sewer catch.

Sun – Baked cookies. Stan went to shop. Fixed grilled cheese for Stan & Dan. Took tem ice tea. Trimmed hedges & hoed. Rained. Work on shop accounts. Elaine came late. Stayed overnight.

1975

Tue – Took Stan to work & drove to town (early). Went for IRS audit. Went to State office for Medicaid. Home late. Went swimming in evening. Dan Arico came. Frank came. Stayed overnight.

Wed – Up early & wrote letters to Elaine. Made chicken macaroni salad. Stan went to Greensburg & drove boys to Latrobe (football & Elders). Picked beans & froze them. Julie got haircut. Kids cut grass. Went to store. Drove Frank home.

Thu – Hot & humid. Washed clothes. Julie went swimming. Boys played ball. Wrote to Bill & Alice. Stan & I went to Murphy Mart & Giant Eagle. Sold out of plastic ware.

Fri – Cooler. Cleaned house. Took Julie to get baseball glove. Greg had all-star practice. Stan went back to shop. Picked beans & froze them. Called Stella.

Sat – Nice day. Made rhubarb apple dessert & snacking cake. Ivan made skate board. Greg had all-star game. In evening went swimming.

Sun – Nice day. Started to sew Julie’s dress. Stan, kids & I went to river to fish. No fishing, so waded. Greg has poison ivy. Had steak. Went to Bill’s. Took out our cats & brought home kitten.

Mon – Morning papers started & Harry slept out. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Sewed Julie’s dress. Bill came to work on car. Frank visited. Weeded in front. Drove Frank home.

1976

Thu – Went to work. Gray day. Harry had hearing. Did load of clothes. Made spaghetti sauce. Hot & humid.

Fri – Worked. We had a cook out. Fixed salad, steak. Lavern made cheesecake. Kids went swimming. Hot & humid. Had spaghetti. Rained. Dave worked late. Cat up in Iames tree.

Sat – Washed clothes. Took Julie shopping for clothes for Birthday. Had sandwiches for supper. Kids & I went swimming. Stan helped clean.

Sun – Cleaned kitchen. Stan worked on wiring of his car. Bill & Carolyn stopped. Dave took kids to Carol’s (in eve). Frank here for supper. Visited Iames.

Mon – Work. Took Gregory for 1^st day. Harry fixed pancakes & sausage. Kids & I went swimming. Cut red raspberries. Kids did clothes & cellar.

Tue – Greg & I worked. Dave made chop suey. Washed 1 load of clothes. Bill & Carolyn came. Stan went to shop with John Marks. Dave & Frank worked Ponderosa.

Wed – Greg & I worked. Hot & humid. Stan & Julie fixed supper (left-over meatloaf). Picked cucumbers. Made 1 qt pickles. Dave & Frank worked Ponderosa.

1977

Fri – Stan went to Conn. With Don. Cleaned living room & dining room. Did lunch clean up & cleaned kitchen. Weeded front grass. Marion called. Called Mrs. Star (Tuba separated).

Sat – Nice day. Made kapusta & oatmeal cookies. Washed clothes. Took nap. Made lasagna. David sold refrigerator. Carol came. Watched TV & crocheted.

Sun – Up early. Read paper. Marion called. Made cream cheese tarts. Made stew. Dave & Julie went to ballgame. Greg & I went swimming. Watched “Poldark”.

Mon – Dave & Stan went to work. Dave got car inspected. Poured rain. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Dave went to ballgame. I did dishes. Stan & I went for milk & got gas.

Tue – Took Julie to dentist. Crocheted. Went to McDonalds for lunch. Picked & fixed veg in garden. Picked peaches. Marion called. Fixed apple. Julie slept over Leslie’s. Harry came home.

Wed – Harry & Stan went to shop. Took Pontiac to be inspected. Made apple pies. Weeded front grass. Stan & Harry worked on brakes on Pontiac. Elaine called. Mary stopped out.

Thu – Harry went with Stan. Washed clothes. Worked on front grass. Went to store. Seeded & watered front. Stan worked on Pontiac brakes. Harry took Julie & Ivan to “White Swan Park”.

1978

Sat –Very hot & humid (93 degrees). Drove Ivan to pick up new glasses. Stopped at Haines. Stan went to shop. Made potato salad. Washed clothes. Greg & Julie went swimming.

Sun – Hot. Finished reading “White Mountains”. Went to Dellalo’s. Greg called to work. Bill came to look at Volvo. Dave stopped. Had hamburgers. Rain came. Elaine called.

Mon – Humid. Washed clothes. Stan went to Latrobe. Took ice cream to Ramseys for funeral. Swept & mopped. Picked beans, squash, cucumbers & blueberries. Made pickles. Dave came. Watched “ Miss Universe”.

Tue – Drove Stan to work. Stopped at store. Julie took off & did not go to her music lesson. Very angry. Froze beans. Made blueberry muffins. Got Stan. Wrote Elaine.

Wed – Slept late. Made kapusta & pierogi. Called Mary – back from Calif. Weeded front crabgrass. Made zucchini walnut bread ( 2 loaves). Dave stopped.

Thu – Washed clothes. Picked vegetables. Made pickles. Stan went to library. Home early. Took Julie to Penney’s. Put jacket on lay-away. Finished weeding 1 section of front grass.

Fri – Cooler. Cleaned house. Straightened magazines. Ivan had last day S. School. Ivan finished back grass. Stan did front. Went to store.

Wed- Took shower & washed hair. Went to store. Packed Greg’s lunch. Got Greg at SS and took to dentist. Wrote letters. Bill H. stopped out. Stan home late. Stan went to shop.

Thu – Took Greg to SS. Went to ping pong drop & store. Washed clothes. Took kids to Lake Yough. Frank didn’t go. Had nice time. Rain at home. Power off in even.

Fri – Took Greg to SS. Went to Southland. Got jeans on lay away. Made pies, 1 cherry to donate & 2 apple for us. Went to Harry’s game. Score tied 10-10. Called because of darkness. Greg had last game.

Sat – Dave called. Out of gas. Frank took pie to bake sale. Stan got foot operated on. Carol & Jim stopped out on motorcycles. Elaine here. Washed clothes. Stayed for supper. Bill H. here, too. Kids made hamburgers. Watched TV.

Sun – Nice day. Slept late. Went to store. Stan fixed carpet around stairs. Elaine here & stayed for supper. Frank had game. Frank went to shop to help Bill. Compressor broke. Drove Elaine home.

Tue – Up early to read. Finished book about Louis. Went to store. Went to Clairton for milk & paid bills. Made soup. Went swimming. Went to bookmobile & store. Stan had meeting with Gibson & Kennametal.

Wed – Stan went to sign up. Eleanor called. Went swimming. Wrote to Harold. Harry & Greg had game. Stan’s wheel came off Simca (drive-way). Frank came. Drove him home. Bill came to help. Dan A. came.

Thu – Very hot & humid. Took Stan out to Bill’s for car. He went to West Va. Took kids to ping pong drop. Julie got fishing stuff. Got shoes for kids. Took kids swimming.

Fri – Went to ping pong drop. Ivan got $2.00 certificate & Frisbee. Got Harry shoes. Stan sold truck ($350.00) Stan took car & took kids swimming. Cleaned house. Took Carrie swimming in evening. High winds. Called Mary.

Sat – Went to ping pong drop. Ivan got tapes. Bought donuts. Kids went swimming. Picked squash & green beans. Mixed dough for rolls (refrid). Went to store. Got caught in rain (downpour). Watched TV.

Thu – Stan drove me to work. He & Harry picked up Pontiac & brought it home. Stan got me from work. Elaine called – coming home on week-end.

Fri – Went to work. Debbie & I went to the Best Steak House. Made 1 qt. of pickles. Stan took me to Shop ‘N Save.

Sat – Dave took Julie to ping pong drop. Elaine came. Washed clothes. Elaine went to Donald’s (Fraser). Made beef stroganoff & little pies. Stan took me to Kroger’s.

Sun – Cleaned kitchen thoroughly. Elaine stopped. Called Bill. Read paper. Made chili. Kids went out to South Park to see Harry’s game. Watched “Private Eye” on TV.

Mon – Went to work (drove). Stopped at store. Kids washed clothes. They swept & mopped cellar. Kids & I went swimming. Harry had game. Watched Olympics on TV.

Tue – Hot. Drove to work. Dave fixed surf & turf dinner. Very good. Police called about Harry. Dave took Ivan to Pitt. Stan & Harry went to Olive Stocker – not there.

Wed – Worked. Bruce fired. Greg came for interview – to start Monday. Stan & Harry went to see Olive Stocker. Cooked chicken & picked meat off bones. Made jar of pickles.

1977

Fri – Carol called early. Went to town to pick up food from her refrigerator. Stan drove Ivan to school. Stan went to Latrobe. Hot. Went to store & bank. Greg sick. Had steak dinner. Went swimming.

Sat – Slept late. Hot & humid. 92 degrees. Stan went to work. Dave helped him. Harry didn’t go (but game cancelled). Kids went swimming. Washed clothes. Made pickles. Stan went swimming with me. Picked beans.

Sun – Hot & humid. Made split pea soup. Read paper. Kids went swimming. Crocheted. Watched “Poldark”.

Mon – Greg drove Ivan to SS (last day) & Harry to Vince Likar (vacation to Nag’s Head). Still hot. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Kids cut grass in back.

Tue – Went to store & got gas. Ate big breakfast. Packed lunch. Julie, Ivan, Greg & I drove to Cheat Lake. Stopped & got pizza. Washed 1 load clothes. Watched All-Stars.

Wed – Cut out & sewed dress. Kids went swimming. Read magazine. Had early supper. Stan, Julie & I went swimming.

Thu – Very hot & humid. Finished my dress. Stan went to bank & dairy store. Drove Stan to shop. He went on trip to NJ. Took pictures of Julie. Made pickles.

Sat – Stan went to see about auto insurance. Washed clothes. Julie & Patty went swimming at Clairton. Made homemade mushroom soup – good. Went to store. Looked at winter jackets for Julie – didn’t like.

Sun – Stan helped with papers. Grey day. Poured rain. Read paper. Picked vegetables. Read magazine. Watched TV.

Mon – Ivan had 1^st day Summer School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Changed sheets. Dave came to wash clothes. Stan got milk.

Tue – Drove Stan to work. Went to store. Took Julie to school for lessons. Took kids swimming. Made blueberry pizza. Got Stan. Went to bookmobile & Sears. Look at coast & ordered sheets.

Wed – Hot. Picked beans & cucumbers. Julie gave Benacks beans. Made yogurt pie. Made tacos. Weeded. Made 1^st batch pickles.

Thu – Went to Deellalo’s opening. Took Julie to drive-in “Cat from Outer Space”

Tue – Hot. Drove Greg to SS. Knitted. Marion & Eleanor called. Took kids swimming at South Park. Picked up Marion, too. Had late supper. Carol & Jim stopped. Stan went to shop. Elaine called.

Wed- Frank took Harry & went to conditioning. Hot & humid. Knitted. Bad rainstorm. Stan, me, Bill, Carolyn & Dan went to Jim Hud. For board meeting. Home late.

Thu – Drove Greg Summ. Sch. Washed clothes. Washed spilled over. Knitted. Painted house number placque. Went to K-Mart. Bill H. called. Home from trip.

Fri – Frank took Greg & went to conditioning. Kids cleaned. I cleaned. Bill H. stopped out. Brought coconut. Picked up Elaine at Southland. Ivan went swimming at Niedzella. Elaine visited. Stan sold Datsun.

Sat – Stan had to work. Washed clothes. Went to store. Knitted. Stan worked on mower. Cut front grass. Weeded.

Sun – Read paper on front porch. Made chicken soup. Cut out dress. Stan fixed drapery rod. Elaine & Don came out. Stayed for supper (chicken). Visited. Stan went to shop. Man got Datsun.

Tue – Stan went to Dr. Tanning. Picked raspberries. Made juice. Kids & I went swimming. Went to store. Stan took kids to drive-in. I made jelly (good). Bruce & Robin came out. Talked til late. Bill’s kittens born.

Wed – Stan went to sign up (strike). Went about head taxes. Wrote to Elaine. Fixed Betty Crocker coupons. Ordered cookbook (Bill). Kids went swimming. Bill H. brought out big refrig. Freezer (Coldspot). Took junk.

Thu – Made dough for bread & sour cream rolls. Washed clothes. Picked squash, turnips, green beans and rhubarb. Made rolls & bread & rhubarb dessert. Kids went swim. Went to Cathy Ziegler’s Tupperware party.

Fri – Kids & I cleaned. Went swimming. Carol came for supper. Didn’t stay long. Read book “Louis & Antoinette”.

Sat – Washed clothes. Went to store. Took kids swimming. Carol came. Went over books. Picked veg. in garden. Fixed raspberries into juice. Weeded. Watched TV.

Sun – Cool today. Slept late. Read. Had fried bologna sandwiches. Went swimming. Had hamburgers for supper. Read. Took Ivan & Julie to Eat & Park (1/2 price).

Mon – Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Took kids swimming. Changed sheets. Picked garden. Fixed steak & gr. beans. Kids (Greg & Harry) had game. Marion called. Ivan measured rock at hospital grounds (20’6” X 10’7”).

Fri – Worked. Plymouth broke down (transmission). Dave drove me to work. Stan got Bill H. to tow car & Stan worked on car. Eve: Kids went swimming. Worked in garden. Jim Hud. Came.

Sat – Rain. Mrs. Harris gave tickets to Freedom Train. Harry, Ivan, Julie & I went. Rip-off. Got Kentucky Fried chicken. Swim closed.

Sun – Read paper. Went to store. Plymouth sick. Kids & I went swimming. Stan fixed supper. Picked rhubarb. Rain. Made rhubarb betty Ate late. Carol & Jim stopped.

Mon – Worked. Drove Plymouth (scared). Kids washed clothes & swept & mopped. Harry started summer school (driver’s theory). Stella & Bill came.

Fri – Very humid. Drove Ivan SS – almost late. Marion called. Eleanor called – Cathy had baby boy on July 6^th. Cleaned house. Julie went to Pirate ball game with Dave. Harry had game.

Sat – Washed clothes. Slept late. Made lasagna. Ate early. Went swimming. Stan drove me to Krogers. Julie home late – came home with Dave.

Sun – Picked cucumbers. Made 1^st batch pickles. Read paper. Called John Evans (Bernice married). Went to store. Made meat loaf. Went swimming in eve.

Mon – Drove Ivan to SS. Greg went to see about job. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Made 2^nd batch pickles. Had green beans from garden. Wrote to Bernice.

Sun – Hot. Marion called. Had fuss with Gregory. Weeded. Picked peas. Had steak & baked potatoes. Good. Wrote Elaine. Watched TV. Bill H. stopped out.

Mon – Humid. Felt lousy. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Poured down rain. Harry & Greg got stuck with Volvo. Frank bought shoes. Weeded.

Tue – Took Stan to work. Took Julie to flute lesson & band. Packed her lunch. Made pancakes for boys. Frank school. Cut back grass. Stan & Harry went to Bill H. Brought back cement mixer.

Wed – Slept late. Harry went to town. Bad day. Clutch cable broke again. Home early. Stan came home early. Didn’t feel well. Cut front & side grass. Weeded.

Thu – Harry drove Greg to work. Stan home sick – pulled muscle. Harry got cable welded & put on. Cleaned kitchen. Washed clothes. Harry packed. Radar came for him.

Fri – Stan home again. Went to bank & store. Julie came along for ping pong drop. Went to milk store. Stan & Greg went to get Volvo changed over. Went to store. Dave stopped. Carol picked up Brutus. Called her.
