January 22 - January 28, 1979-1983

1979

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Started book reading. Stan came home early. Went to Dr. Fixed steak, mushrooms. Stan went bowling.

Tue – School. Stan & Frank home sick. Read. “Watership Down” by Richard Adams. Called Eleanor. Marion called. Dave stopped. Went to store. Ivan changed flat & had car.

Wed- School. Finished book. Made galumpkie & stuffed peppers. Made coconut cream pie. Called Mrs. Kampert. Worked on mail.

Thu – No school. Icy & snow & wind. Frank’s bus didn’t come. All slept late. Washed clothes. Called Mary. Buildt fire. Made orange cookies.

Fri – School. Cleaned house. Cleaned off front walk. Boys shoveled driveway after school. Stan home late – trouble with brakes. Jacked car up. Called Carolyn.

Sat – Dave came. Drove Stan to work. Carolyn came & took me to stores. Did all shopping. Washed clothes. Did Cl. Tech books – balanced. Stan & I took walk.

Sun – Up early. 3-4 inches of snow. Greg didn’t get Dad. Shoveled snow. Stan checked out Subaru. Bill came. No brake pad. Made apple pie & stuffed chicken. Tired. Showered.

1980

Tue – Stan home sick. Sore throat. Read tow books – “Too Young to Marry” & “Substitute Bride”. Ivan worked. Greg, Bill & Dave stopped.

Wed – School. Stan signed up. He felt sick. Stayed home in afternoon. Read magazine story & “Venetia”. Cold + 10 degrees. Went to bank & store. Went to milk store.

Thu –School. Snowed. Washed clothes. Bill H. called. Called Mary. Finished “Venetia”. Read “The Marriage Chest”. Made spaghetti sauce in eve.

Fri – School. Cleaned house. Dave stopped. Julie brought Sharlene Vincent. Stayed overnight. Read “Rebel Heiress”.

Sat – Read. Washed clothes. Greg here. Finished taking apart bike. Ivan worked. Sharlene went home evening. Julie babysat.

Sun – Slept late. Read paper. Made French toast. Ivan worked. Stan watched Pro Bowl. Called Marion (back trouble). Read “Joanna”.

Mon – School. Went to Castle Shannon for interview. Stopped at Kroger. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Fixed chipped steaks. Stan went bowling. Read.

1981

Thu – Wrote Harry. Washed clothes. Went to store. Stan worked 5-1. Julie was candy striper. Cleaned kitchen & bath.

Fri – Worked at Lawsons. Stan cleaned house. Stan worked 5-1. Greg came down to work on car. Read. Went to bed late.

Sat – Worked at Lawsons. Stan worked 7-5. Greg got car fixed & went back State College. Washed clothes. Read. Julie fixed supper.

Sun – Worked half day at Lawsons. Went to store. Stan called Caroline. Had steak. Watched Super Bowl (Oakland 27 – Phila. 10) Watched TV. Worked rug.

Mon – Worked at Lawsons. Stan made beef stroganoff. Frank stayed for supper. Stan worked 5-1. Finished hook rug.

Tue – Took Julie to dental clinic. Washed clothes. Swept. Ivan mopped. Stan worked 5-1. Julie worked at Jefferson. Made bread pizza. Read. Bathtub clogged.

Wed – Went to Pitt dental clinic (myself). Read. Fixed chicken, cole slaw & baked apples. Stan went to Caroline’s. Called Marion. Stan went to Toastmasters. Read.

1982

Fri – School. Worked at Lawsons.

Sat – Julie & I worked. Ivan went to Laurel Caverns. Marion called. Ivan & Julie slept. Read.

Sun – Julie worked. I worked part time at Lawsons. Bill H. visited. Watched Super Bowl. Read. Wrote Frank. San Francisco 26 – Cincinnati 21.

Mon – School. Julie home sick. Worked at Lawsons. Light snow. Julie fixed spaghetti.

Tue – School. Washed clothes. Ivan swept & mopped. Made grape pizza. Read. Had baked fish & left-over spaghetti. Went to store.

Wed – School. Made galumpkie & dilly bread. Marion called. Made a new apron. Dave & Stan went to Toastmasters.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Cleaned. Made caramel custard & chicken stew. Went to library at Borough Bldg.

1983

Sat – Julie & I worked. Stan got different wheel at Bartons. Stan went to store. Stan fixed chicken a la king (test sample). Stan & I went to Marions. Took klondikes. Washed clothes first. Elaine called.

Sun – Worked half day Read & took nap. Julie worked. Stan fixed steaks. Read paper. Marion called.

Mon – School. Worked at Lawsons. Stan got front end alignment & Volvo inspected. Stan worked 4-12. Fixed supper. Julie did dishes. Read.

Tue – School. Washed clothes (3 loads). Went to store. Started to knit baby sweater for Sherry. Stan worked 4-12. Tired.

Wed – Slept late. Made cookies, custard pie & frazzled nuts. Stan got hair cut with Bill. Bill here for lunch. Julie went to Pitt Dental. Dave went to Toastmasters. Stan worked 4-12. Knitted & watched opera.

Thu – Washed clothes. Went to McKeesport clinic – scheduled D&C. Called Marion. Stan worked 4-12. Knitted.

Fri – Worked at Lawsons. Arranged for time off. Stan cashed check & worked 4-12. Dave fixed supper. Read. Called Marion. Looked in want ads for her.
