December 10-16, 1969-1973

1969

Wed- School. Felt lousy. Carol took car. Embroidered pillow cases for Aunt Lavina. Dave went shopping. Cut out Elaine’s dress. Bill went to Wendy’s. Took over stereo.

Thu – School. Packed Ivan’s lunch. Washed clothes. Bill helped. Went to Eastland & McKeesport. Went to Southland. Stan went bowling. Read magazines. Dave took kids shopping.

Fri – School. Made cream puffs. Ironed clothes. Cleaned kitchen. Went to store. Sewed Elaine’s dress.

Sat – Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Kids cleaned. Made soup. Thoroughly cleaned living room. Elaine had forensic meet. Made pizza.

Sun – Washed my hair. Made nanaimo cookies. Made meat loaf. Dave took kids to movies & Santa at Fire hall. Julie & Greg won silver dollars. Wendy & Bill were here for supper.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Stan home sick. Straightened house. Mailed package to Aunt Lavina. Took Bill to Wendy’s. Took Greg to dentist. Bad night. Greg M. stuck. Carol took him home.

Tue – School. Made nut rolls. Made pumpkin & cherry pies. Sewed Elaine’s dress. Dave took books to bookmobile & went shopping. Bill took Wendy to Dr.

1970

Thu – No refridgeration. Called. Washed clothes. Mail boxes banged & bent. Took Frank to Hospital. Stitches in finger. Sewed Carol’s dress. Finished her white crocheted purse. Kids went swimming.

Fri – School. Went to bank & store. Bought kids lunch at McDonalds. Refridgerator man came. Addressed Christmas cards. Stamped them.

Sat – Washed clothes. Carol got hair fixed. Stan went to Dr. Went to Sears. Stan worked on light switches. Carol & Bill doubled for dinner date (Mellon). Went to Bartalottas.

Sun – Julie & I went to UU. Dave went to Presbyterian. Read paper. Iced cake. Made steak. Visited Mrs. Iames. Worked crosswords.

Mon – School. Washed clothes (very muddy). Changed sheets. Kids swept & mopped. Went to shopping center. Stan went bowling. Carol had finals.

Tue – School. Cut & sewed Carol’s blouse. Cut & started Elaine’s blouse. Went to town. Got me a new dress & other things.

Wed – Frank home sick. Greg missed bus. Drove him to school. Carol home on vacation. Bill & Frank laid carpeting upstairs. Made nanaimo cookies. Sewed blouse & skirt. Buildt fire.

1971

Fri – School. Cleaned kitchen & living. Warm day (71 degrees) Went to store. Harry went bowling (school group). Stan home late. Wrote X-mas cards.

Sat – Kids cleaned. Washed clothes. Carol & Jim stopped out. Got X-mas cards. Ironed. Worked on X-mas cards. Called Dad. Dave & Elaine went to LRY for overnight.

Sun – Nice day. Read paper. Washed hair. Gave Stan & boys hair cuts. Elaine home late from LRY weekend. Boys washed hair and got baths. Mary called.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Cleaned fish tank. Made spe. sauce & ravioli. Stan went bowling. Dave worked. Bill got watersoft salt

Tue – School. Rain. Shampooed dining room rug. Dave helped. Eleanor came out. Made nut roil. Watched TV.

Wed – School. Cleaned kitchen. Wrapped presents. Made meat loaf. Stan home late. Went to Monroeville. Stan & I had dinner at Al Wu. Gave him nut roll.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Made lemon dessert. Went to store. Stan tired. Played 66 with kids. Bill worked. Dave worked night turn. Carol called.

1972

Sun – Went to school to trim tree. Baked cake. Made meat loaf Ivan sick. Read paper. Typed invoices. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Ivan home sick. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Changed sheets. Fixed eggs & fr. fries. Bill H. came out. Buildt fire.

Tue – School. Ivan & Julie home sick. Icy. Went to Dr. Charlton. Had tooth pulled. Cut out dress. Sewed. Cut David’s hair. Buildt fire.

Wed – Dave looked for job – no luck. School. Sewed & finished dress. Tooth socket hurt. Very bad night.

Thu – Elaine had final. School. Dave went to bank & store. Went to dentist. Got tooth packed. Got ready for Carbide Eng. Stan & I had nice time. Got bud vase. Dave cooked supper. Elaine worked.

Fri – School. David fixed names on candy. Went to store for order. Fixed supper. Took aspirin.

Sat – Felt little better. Washed clothes. Cleaned living. Elaine couldn’t get car started. Very cold. Stan worked at shop. Buildt fire. Cleaned kitchen. Carol & Jim stopped in afternoon.

1973

Mon – School. Gregory home sick. Tried to start car (no soap). Missed bus. Mr. Iames drove me to Danny’s Donuts. Met Eleanor. Got check. Ate lunch & went shopping. Eleanor brought me home.

Tue – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Made beds. Harry came home sick. Got milk at dairy. Knitted.

Wed – School. Harry home sick. Made pumpkin cookies & Bar-B-Q pork. Took kids to dentist. Elaine home. Drove her back. Stopped at Hornes & Basco.

Thu – School. Frank missed bus. Drove Fr. & Julie to school. Went to bank & store. Fixed clothes for banquet. Went to Carbide Eng. at Mountain View. Wonderful. Bad driving in rain. Harry had concert time.

Fri – School. Slept late. Called Marion. Washed out good clothes. Went to new Kroger Super store in Duquesne. Watched TV.

Sat – Washed clothes. Cleaned living room. Went to store. Got kids from bowling. Had bad time about Bill.

Sun – Cried. Felt very bad about Bill & shop. Worked on nut rolls & cookies. Bill to come home only to sleep. Read paper. Dan Arico came.
