December 17 - 23, 1969-1973

1969

Wed- School. Cut out & sewed Elaine’s slacks. Fighting cold. Made chicken casserole. Carol & Greg had supper.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Elaine home. Bills leave changed. Stan went bowling. Cut out Julie’s dress.

Fri – School. Packed kids lunch. Went to bank & shopping. Elaine fixed supper. Dave & Bill double dated. Stan & I shopped at Eastland & saw “Oliver”.

Sat – Washed clothes. Went to store. Carol went to Eastland. Kids cleaned. Elaine wrapped presents. Elaine & I went to K-Mart.

Sun – Stan went to work. Went to Haines. Sewed Mary’s apron. Got X-mas tree. Stan, Julie & I went to see Pap. Snowed.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Dave home. Baked cookies for cub scouts. Stan took kids to Cub Scouts. I took Elaine to forensics party & went to store.

Tue – School. Went to Eastland. Cleaned up. Went to school for party Made supper.

1970

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Folded & ironed. Finished Carol’s blouse. Washed hair. Stan & I went to Carbide Eng. dinner dance. Had good time. Home at 2:05.

Fri – School. Tired. Wrapped presents. Pinned Xmas cards. Baked nut rolls & birthday cake.

Sat – Washed clothes. Went to store. Iced cake. Got new hand mixer. Had candy. Went to K-Mart. Carol got Arbys for gang.

Sun – Stan worked. Baked cookies. Carol & Elaine put up decorations. Elaine & Dave went to UU. Took cookies. Kids got baths. Worked crosswords.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Changed sheets. Folded & ironed. Went to Pack meeting. Snow. Lasted long time. Brought home cookies & took cookies.

Tue – School. Sewed Carol’s nightgown (gift to Sarah). Cut out David’s pajamas. Baked cookies for school party. Went to Southland.

Wed – School. Kids took cookies. Bill took me to cash checks. Went to school for program. Helped with cookies at party. Went to store.

1971

Fri – School. Ironed clothes. Went to store. Bill cooked supper. Stan & I went to Carbide Engineers. Got wallet & necklace & earrings set. Very icy. Bill had to get Elaine at Eastland.

Sat – Tired. Washed clothes. Stan cleaned living room. Carol & Jim came with birthday cake. Got watch. Janey, Diane & Suzy & baby came up. Watched TV.

Sun – Read paper. Tired. Elaine went for Princeton interview. Had steak for birthday and left over cake. Kids got baths. Called Dad.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Changed sheets. Went to store. Stan went bowling. Dave worked night turn.

Tue – School. Packed Ivan’s lunch. Took Julie to town. Saw Santa. Met Carol. Got watch band. Fixed rigatoni. Watch TV. Elaine went to bookmobile. Dave worked night turn.

Wed – School. Sewed Ivan’s pajamas. Went to school for Xmas program. Passed out goodies. Fixed graham cracker crumbs for cookies. Played cards.

Thu – No school. Decorated tree. Put up lights around windows. Washed clothes. Elaine hung garlands. Got supper at McDonalds. Listened to Messiah. Bill & Dave worked.

1972

Sun – Still tooth hurting. Went to Haines. Stan & Bill worked on part for Frank Parker. No luck. All discouraged.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept. Bill mopped. Dave went for G. I. Medical. Went to Dr. Charlton. Dave Conklin came for supper. Stan & Bill went back to shop. Wrote invoice & bills (checks).

Tue – School. Went to store. Iced cake. Had steak & left over lasagna. Dave home. Rejected from army. Stan tired. Slept. Cut out & sewed Julie’s dress.

Wed – School. Sewed Julie’s dress. Aunt Eleanor came. Sewed buttonholes. Called Dad. Stan & I went to show. Saw “Fiddler on the Roof”. Got last of presents.

Thu – School. Ivan home sick in morning. Washed clothes. Dave wrapped presents. Elaine went to Oakland & then worked. Went to school for party. Santa was there. Frank had car. Got milk.

Fri – No school. Kids helped put up tree & lights. Went to store. Made peanut butter Hershey kisses cookies.

Sat – Washed clothes. Cleaned. Went to store. Called Carol. Baked cookies. John Edwards called Stan. Played cards.

1973

Mon – Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Put on new sheet blankets. Cleaned kitchen. Called Grace Pavelko. Wrapped presents. Bill & Stan talked.

Tue – School. Called Marion. Made peanut butter kisses cookies & baked cake. Ate early & went to store. Stan typed & I went for Elaine. Brought home her stereo, etc.

Wed – School. Worked on Stan’s Insurance forms. Made cream horn cookies. Straightened. Carol & Jim came over with cake & ice cream. Got me folding umbrella. Dave came home late. Big load of dirty clothes.

Thu – School. Harry home sick. Went to K-Mart & store. Washed clothes. Had pork chops & left over cake. Dave took car. Elaine & I wrapped presents.

Fri – School. Harry home sick. Dave got glasses & got Harry’s fixed. Went down to school for Xmas program. Baked cookies. Stan worked late. Went to store.

Sat – Washed clothes. Kids put up tree. Put up wreaths. Felt tired. Elaine finished wrapping presents.

Sun – Read paper. Stan straightened up living room. Went to Shop & Save. Took cookies to Mrs. Iames (not well). Went to Eleanor’s. Aunt Lavina & group there.
