July 15 - July 21, 1974-1978

1974

Mon – Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Went to bank & store. Got milk & gas. Knitted.

Tue – Took Greg to SS. Went to bank & store. Went to cleaners. Washed jackets. Took Julie & Ivan to Sears for shoes. Got material. David took car to work. Stan home late (no supper at home) Called Helen.

Wed- Took shower & washed hair. Went to store. Packed Greg’s lunch. Got Greg at SS and took to dentist. Wrote letters. Bill H. stopped out. Stan home late. Stan went to shop.

Thu – Took Greg to SS. Went to ping pong drop & store. Washed clothes. Took kids to Lake Yough. Frank didn’t go. Had nice time. Rain at home. Power off in even.

Fri – Took Greg to SS. Went to Southland. Got jeans on lay away. Made pies, 1 cherry to donate & 2 apple for us. Went to Harry’s game. Score tied 10-10. Called because of darkness. Greg had last game.

Sat – Dave called. Out of gas. Frank took pie to bake sale. Stan got foot operated on. Carol & Jim stopped out on motorcycles. Elaine here. Washed clothes. Stayed for supper. Bill H. here, too. Kids made hamburgers. Watched TV.

Sun – Nice day. Slept late. Went to store. Stan fixed carpet around stairs. Elaine here & stayed for supper. Frank had game. Frank went to shop to help Bill. Compressor broke. Drove Elaine home.

1975

Tue – Up early to read. Finished book about Louis. Went to store. Went to Clairton for milk & paid bills. Made soup. Went swimming. Went to bookmobile & store. Stan had meeting with Gibson & Kennametal.

Wed – Stan went to sign up. Eleanor called. Went swimming. Wrote to Harold. Harry & Greg had game. Stan’s wheel came off Simca (drive-way). Frank came. Drove him home. Bill came to help. Dan A. came.

Thu – Very hot & humid. Took Stan out to Bill’s for car. He went to West Va. Took kids to ping pong drop. Julie got fishing stuff. Got shoes for kids. Took kids swimming.

Fri – Went to ping pong drop. Ivan got $2.00 certificate & Frisbee. Got Harry shoes. Stan sold truck ($350.00) Stan took car & took kids swimming. Cleaned house. Took Carrie swimming in evening. High winds. Called Mary.

Sat – Went to ping pong drop. Ivan got tapes. Bought donuts. Kids went swimming. Picked squash & green beans. Mixed dough for rolls (refrid). Went to store. Got caught in rain (downpour). Watched TV.

Sun – Up early. Baked rolls, cookies & cake. Carol came. Stan talked business. Rained. Sewed Julie’s slacks. Played cards.

Mon – Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Kids went swimming. Fixed & froze squash. Ivan & I cut front grass. Got gas. Stan at shop.

1976

Thu – Stan drove me to work. He & Harry picked up Pontiac & brought it home. Stan got me from work. Elaine called – coming home on week-end.

Fri – Went to work. Debbie & I went to the Best Steak House. Made 1 qt. of pickles. Stan took me to Shop ‘N Save.

Sat – Dave took Julie to ping pong drop. Elaine came. Washed clothes. Elaine went to Donald’s (Fraser). Made beef stroganoff & little pies. Stan took me to Kroger’s.

Sun – Cleaned kitchen thoroughly. Elaine stopped. Called Bill. Read paper. Made chili. Kids went out to South Park to see Harry’s game. Watched “Private Eye” on TV.

Mon – Went to work (drove). Stopped at store. Kids washed clothes. They swept & mopped cellar. Kids & I went swimming. Harry had game. Watched Olympics on TV.

Tue – Hot. Drove to work. Dave fixed surf & turf dinner. Very good. Police called about Harry. Dave took Ivan to Pitt. Stan & Harry went to Olive Stocker – not there.

Wed – Worked. Bruce fired. Greg came for interview – to start Monday. Stan & Harry went to see Olive Stocker. Cooked chicken & picked meat off bones. Made jar of pickles.

1977

Fri – Carol called early. Went to town to pick up food from her refrigerator. Stan drove Ivan to school. Stan went to Latrobe. Hot. Went to store & bank. Greg sick. Had steak dinner. Went swimming.

Sat – Slept late. Hot & humid. 92 degrees. Stan went to work. Dave helped him. Harry didn’t go (but game cancelled). Kids went swimming. Washed clothes. Made pickles. Stan went swimming with me. Picked beans.

Sun – Hot & humid. Made split pea soup. Read paper. Kids went swimming. Crocheted. Watched “Poldark”.

Mon – Greg drove Ivan to SS (last day) & Harry to Vince Likar (vacation to Nag’s Head). Still hot. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Kids cut grass in back.

Tue – Went to store & got gas. Ate big breakfast. Packed lunch. Julie, Ivan, Greg & I drove to Cheat Lake. Stopped & got pizza. Washed 1 load clothes. Watched All-Stars.

Wed – Cut out & sewed dress. Kids went swimming. Read magazine. Had early supper. Stan, Julie & I went swimming.

Thu – Very hot & humid. Finished my dress. Stan went to bank & dairy store. Drove Stan to shop. He went on trip to NJ. Took pictures of Julie. Made pickles.

1978

Sat – Stan went to see about auto insurance. Washed clothes. Julie & Patty went swimming at Clairton. Made homemade mushroom soup – good. Went to store. Looked at winter jackets for Julie – didn’t like.

Sun – Stan helped with papers. Grey day. Poured rain. Read paper. Picked vegetables. Read magazine. Watched TV.

Mon – Ivan had 1^st day Summer School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Changed sheets. Dave came to wash clothes. Stan got milk.

Tue – Drove Stan to work. Went to store. Took Julie to school for lessons. Took kids swimming. Made blueberry pizza. Got Stan. Went to bookmobile & Sears. Look at coast & ordered sheets.

Wed – Hot. Picked beans & cucumbers. Julie gave Benacks beans. Made yogurt pie. Made tacos. Weeded. Made 1^st batch pickles.

Thu – Went to Deellalo’s opening. Took Julie to drive-in “Cat from Outer Space”

Fri – Hot 93 degrees. Froze yellow beans & squash. Cleaned house. Read “The White Mountains”. Fixed fish. Dave came over.
