July 29 - August 4, 1974-1978

1974

Mon – Elaine went for job interview. Washed clothes. Elaine washed. Changed sheets. Iced birthday cake. Rain storm. Stan home late. Julie opened presents. Had cake. Frank took kids to Dodge kids concert.

Tue – Went to bank & store. Took Greg to Pitt Dental. Kids swept & mopped cellar. Took Julie, Ivan & Karen out to H.J. for birthday dinner. Stopped at Children’s Palace.

Wed- Took Stan’s car for tail pipe. Bill worked on it (Frank helped). Sewed Julie’s outfit. Called about joining Sunnyhill. Kids put on show.

Thu – Washed clothes. Took kids swimming. Made apple pizza & apple pie. Went swimming in evening. Washed hair. Sewed Julie’s outfit.

Fri – Julie sick. Stan took my car. Cleaned house. Kids went swimming. Got Stan’s car. Got milk & went to store. Went swimming. Stan went to shop. Visited Mrs. Iames. Ivan cut front grass.

Sat – Washed clothes. Gave Stan haircut. Frank helped Bill forge. Julie, Ivan, Stan & I went to wedding in Latrobe (Adolph Kaszycki). Very nice. Took pictures.

Sun – Rain. Called Marion. Mended. Glued carpet to steps. Kids went swimming. Went to Ondich’s for Janie’s party. Very nice. Gave money. Kids went to Community Day.

1975

Tue – Drove Stan to work & went to store. Weeded & watered front grass. Went swimming. Bill came to help with car. Went swimming again in eve.

Wed – Hot. Baked Julie’s cake & cupcakes. Made chicken salad. Picked beans. Went to Sears. Went swimming in evening. Watered front grass. Watched TV. Julie got clothes & baseball mitt.

Thu – Very hot (96 degrees). Washed clothes. Went swimming. Frank came here. Had chicken soup & pizza. Watched TV. Stan drove Frank home.

Fri – Very hot (96 degrees). Stan took Simca for inspection. Finished Julie’s dress. Picked green beans & froze some. Kids cleaned. Took kids swimming. Went to store. Got Kentucky Fried. Carol stuck with car. Stan got Jim, & took to McKeesport.

Sat – Hot. Took Greg for last poison shot. Went to Grants, got tennis shoes & jeans. Took Julie in afternoon & exchanged jeans & got her jeans. We all went swimming. Chopped veg. for potato salad.

Sun – Hot & humid. Made potato salad. Cleaned bathroom & kitchen. Carolyn & Bill came for birthday supper. All went well. Community Day. Kids went up – Harry & Frank stayed for dance.

Mon – Elaine came. Drove Stan to work & went to bank & paid bills. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Took Elaine shopping. She went to Oakland. Frank came. Typed envelopes – fixed papers.

1976

Thu – Greg & I worked. Stan cooked roast. Kids & I went swimming. Watched Olympics. Dave & Frank worked Ponderosa.

Fri – Greg & I worked. Went to Best Steak House for lunch. Pay day. Kids went swimming. Car (Plymouth) wouldn’t start. Stan fixed. I went to store. Watched Olympics. Julie baked her cake. Julie got clothes.

Sat – Washed clothes. Went to store. Kids went swimming. Picked beans & cucumbers. Made pickles. Watched Olympics at Montreal. Greg fixed supper. Stan went to Hatfields to fix Simca.

Sun – Julie went to Sunday School. Read paper. Cleaned kitchen. Stuffed turkey breast. Community day. Kids went. Watched Olympic closing. Record 48 degrees.

Mon – Greg & I worked. Julie went to Bible School. Julie & Stan fixed supper. Went to store. Marion called. Turned cold – record 50 degrees. Kids washed clothes & swept & mopped. Bill Hatfield came.

Tue – Greg & I worked. Julie went to Bible School. Harry fixed pepper steak. Washed clothes. Bill Hatfield came. Dave worked Ponderosa again.

Wed – Greg & I worked. Greg cut finger. Took him to Homestead Hospital. Went to store. Mary called. Home from Poland.

1977

Fri – Stan went to VA doctors. Eyes good. Greg & Harry went to shop to work. Dave went in afternoon. Stan took car for inspection again. Cleaned. Julie baked her cake.

Sat – Washed clothes. Iced cake. Mrs. Fuccarro made roses. Looked pretty. Julie & I went to store. Got crafts. Had pizza & soup. Had birthday cake after kids home from swimming.

Sun – Nice day. Slept late. Marion called. Had brunch. Kids & I went swimming. Had spaghetti. Dave worked. Gave haircuts. Watched “Poldark” & crocheted.

Mon – Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Julie finished her stichery rabbit. Changed sheets. Greg & Harry went with Stan to Latrobe to get capacitalors. Kids went swimming in evening.

Tue – Went to bank & store. Kids went swimming. Made stuffed peppers & cabbage rolls. Made tapioca. Kids went swimming in evening. Called Mary. Ivan finished grass.

Wed – Harry went to work with Stan. Crocheted afghan & started pillow for Bill’s birthday. Bill called.

Thu – Washed clothes. Kids went swimming. Called Carolyn. Crocheted. Marion called. Worked on weeds & picked tomatoes.

1978

Sat – Took Ivan to Dr. for Xamine. Washed clothes. Greg & Stan worked on pipe of Volvo. Had fresh fish. Took walk in garden. Met Dave & wife (Ramsey). Baked Julie’s cake.

Sun – Nice day. Iced & decorated Julie’s cake. Julie & I went to Eastland – bought birthday presents. Bill & Carolyn came with corn. They stayed for supper – pizza, etc. Harry came home. Girls had surprise party for Julie.

Mon – Dave came. Took car for service. Washed clothes. Stan took Volvo for inspection. Harry drove Greg to work & Ivan to school & got milk. Swept & mopped. Went to store. Called Carol.

Tue – Picked cucumbers. Made pickles. Army man came for Harry. Made rhubarb dessert & roast beef. Mary stopped out. Julie had Bible School.

Wed – Nice. Marion called. Picked beans & beets. Made sauerkraut slaw & puffed rice cookies. Eleanor called. Went to store. Finished reading “Jeremy Poldark”. Gave Stan hair cut. Julie had Bible School. (Harry had physical.)

Thu – Harry drove Greg to work. Washed clothes. Mended. Stan stopped for milk. Stan went to Latrobe. Made filling for cookies. Julie went to Bible School.

Fri – Baked raisin cookies & cake. Cleaned kitchen. Went to Dellalo’s & store. Dave came. Julie had last day Bible School. Harry took Greg’s car.
