Tue – School. Harry & Julie home sick. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Frank Kennedy called about Datsun. Totaled. Harry started to get chicken pox. X-ray OK.
Wed- School. H & J home. Talked on phone. Sewed. Had late supper. Went to dairy & to store. Bill H. stopped out.
Thu – School. Julie back. Stan took off. Went looking for cars. Baked cake & washed clothes. Elaine brought Norm. Fixed nice dinner. Watched TV. Drove kids back.
Fri – School. Harry home. Cleaned living room. Worked on checks, etc. for Clairton Tool. Dan Arico came. Stan & I worked again. Stan had to go get Frank (drinking in park).
Sat – Washed clothes.
Sun – Called Marion. Made sausage & pancakes. Went for gifts form KQV. Went to store. Worked on shop checks. Ordered seeds.
1975
Tue – School. Made stew. Called Eleanor. Stan got Simca inspected. Took Greg to Pitt Dental. Read. Called Elaine & Marion. Paul Roberts stopped up.
Wed – School. Washed clothes. Made apricot cookies & cup cakes. Dan came. We all went in to Jims for Cl. Tech meeting.
Thu – School. Went to store & diary. Worked on Cl. Tech. accounts. Went to shop in evening with Stan.
Fri – School. Went to Homestead session. Frank suspended again. Cleaned house. Bill, Linda, Stella & Bill H. came. Bruce, Bryon & Robin came, too. Visited with Cathy Ziegler’s new baby.
Sat – Washed clothes. Drained sewer with hose. Frank went to shop. Made chocolate pudding & fr. fried shrimp. Frank had car. Watched TV. Ivan & Julie made computor. Dan Arico came.
Sun – Frank “pain in the neck”. Told to leave. Police stopped him – drove him home. Went to store. Made potato salad. Called Mary & Elaine. Stan went to shop. Kids got baths. Julie predicts I will get lucky.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Finished typing. Made applesauce cake & custard pie. Fixed fresh vegetables. Typed for Greg. Worked on W2 forms.
Fri – School. Went to store. Dave looked at cars. Changed mind about Gremlin at Beacon. Cleaned house. Carol & Jim came. Worked on 940 & W2.
Sat – Took Dave down to pick up his new car. Washed clothes. Kids played in snow. Mended. Bill & Bruce Hatfield came out. Went to shop & got acetylene tanks.
Sun – Slept late. Read paper. Made French toast. Cleaned walks. Made fruit & pudding desserts. Had ham. Watched “Caesar & Cleopatra”
Mon – School. Very cold (-1). Baked bread (up early). Washed clothes. Swept cellar. Frank finished & mopped. Drove Stan to shop & went to bank & store. Out of gas. Fixed quick supper. Buildt fire.
Tue – School. Went to store in evening. Mended clothes. Eleanor came. Took me to Steak & Ale for lunch. Talked. Made pot roast. Watched “MASH”. Report cards.
1977
Fri – No school. Harry & I went to store. Very crowded. Stan got milk. Blizzard. Stores closed early. Stan made fire. Watched TV.
Sat – Called Mary. Cleaned kitchen. Made blueberry pie. Dave & Frank came. Dave took Greg & Harry to his place for supper. Frank here. Watched TV & knitted. Mrs. O. called.
Sun – Slept late. Had soup & fried bologna sandwiches – good. Showered.

Thu – Up early. Showered. Stan took me & Mrs. George home from hospital. Called Marion & Eleanor. Stan took over. Knitted & played cards.

Sun – Read paper. Made pancakes. Typed Harry’s research paper. Harry went to Library – returned books. Fixed chicken & rice. Sewed Stan’s jacket. Finished typing.

Wed- School. Straightened. Packed Elaine’s clothes. Took Greg to dental clinic. Got glasses. Went to Elaine’s. Had spaghetti. Stan used Carol Kampert’s car. Worked on business figures.
Thu – School. Julie still sick. Washed clothes. Changed sheets. Sewed. Made spice cake & stew with left over meat.
Fri – School. Made brownies. Sewed coat. Greg worked. Harry leg hurt (kept us awake at night). Carol & Jim stopped. Grace & Marion called.
Sat – Washed clothes. Cleaned. Stan took Harry to hospital (possibly rheumatic fever). Bill H. stopped out. Went to store.
Sun – Slept late. Made buckwheat pancakes. Harry still sick. Read paper. Stan took inventory & worked on books. Worked on versus for Dave’s birthday. Called Mary. Stitched quilt.
1975
Tue – School. Julie went back. Stan worked on Simca. Baked cookies & apple pizza. Made kapusta. Took Ivan to Pitt Dental. Went to Elaine’s. Saw her new sewing machine. She came home. Julie had night gym. Went grocery shopping. Don came for her.
Wed – School. Took Greg to Pitt. Went to Scaife Art Gallery. Had late lunch. Frank, Stan& I went to Southeastern to see Dr. Baum. Shoveled snow. Watched TV. Saw train “Runaway”.
Thu – School. Washed clothes. Made custard. Worked on company books. Watched news. Stan went to shop for short while. Bill H. stopped.
Fri – School. Cleaned. Went to Homestead for group counseling. Fixed lunch & went to store. Elaine was here with friend Wayne. Took them to shop. They stayed for supper. Drove them home. Paid $1.00 to park. Felt blue and tired.

Thu – School. Snow & cold. Had Frank clean oven. Washed clothes & typed Greg’s paper. Buildt fire. Called Stella. Stan went back to shop.
Fri – School. Had Frank clean kitchen cabinets. I cleaned house plus put away things. Stan went to Meadville (took Carol’s Saab). Typed Greg’s paper.
Sat – Washed clothes. Got water softener salt. Went to Krogers. Dave went looking at cars. Put money on Gremlin. He went to work. He & Frank worked Ponderosa. Watched TV. Harry worked at Benack’s.
Sun – Read paper. Typed for Greg. Watched movie “Ring of Fire”. Made angle food cake roll with whipped cream. Made apricot chicken (good). Typed.

Sat – Harry had job with Benack’s (all day). Washed clothes. Stan went over Dave’s to work on water (still none). Knitted & watched TV.
Sun – Cold but clear. Read paper. Marion called. Drove Julie & Michelle Meckley to Rostraver. Went to PayDays. Dave came for water. Stayed for supper. Had fish. Watched TV & knitted (Roots).

Tue – School. Mended. Stan got car out of driveway. I went to store. Stan delivered water to Dave. Watched TV.

Thu – No school. Kids slept late. Washed clothes. Julie worked on report. Kids played in snow. Watched TV & knitted.
1978
Sat – Snow stopped. Washed clothes. Stan didn’t go to work. Julie started to crochet scarf. Knitted. Harry went to bank & library. Both closed. Called Elaine. Harry went to Vince Likar’s house. Stayed overnight.
Sun – Slept late. Read paper. Made twist rolls (gone in 1 day). Shoveled from walk. Helped Stan on back porch. Kids helped, too. Sunny. Dave’s car wouldn’t start. Went to milk store. Harry then Stan went to help David.
Mon – No school. Teachers work day. Drove Greg to work. Dave here – car wouldn’t start. Took it to Murphy’s. Made chop suey. Greg & Harry had basketball game. Lost.
Tue – School. Washed clothes – 4 big loads. Swept cellar – Frank mopped. Changed sheets. Worked on ice on patio. Harry went to bookmobile – wasn’t there. Knitted sole for Julie’s booties.
Wed – School. Rain (thank goodness). Melted a lot of snow & ice. Frank cleaned ice off back porch. Harry worked. Greg couldn’t get car started. Got ride to work. Greg went to basketball game.
Thu – School. Terrible wind – cold. No gas – called gas co. Electric went off, too. Fixed at about 11:00 AM. Stan & kids came home at lunch time. Near zero. Stan buildt fire.
Fri – No school. Cleaned house. Tired of kids home. Made pot roast. Played cards. Knitted & watched TV. Called Mary. Harry went shopping & all night bowling.

Wed- School. Washed clothes. Sewed Julie’s pants suit. Took Greg & Harry to dental clinic. Made stew in morning. Went shopping. Couldn’t find material. Warm day. Bill had accident with Datsun.
Thu – School. Stan drove Bill to hospital for X-rays. Stan took truck to work. Washed clothes. Very blue. Called Marion. Grace called. Took kids to store. Got sleds & got material.
Fri – School. Cut out coat & lining. Cleaned living room & kitchen. Julie went to Capanna’s. Got ragdoll. Carol & Jim stopped. Talked & Carol played ping pong.
Sat – Frank worked at shop with Bill. Stan got new power steering pump for Chrysler. Put in – leaks. Julie baked cake. Washed clothes. Sewed on coat. Stan worked on shop paper work.

Wed – School. Baked cookies & cake. Stan signed up. Food stamps came. Went to bank & store. Made stuffed round steak & baked potatoes. Visited Iames & got paper.
Thu – School. Put clothes to wash. Got Julie & Frank & took them to McKeesport clinic. Home late. Fixed lunch. Took them back & went to store. Dr. called about operation for Julie. Watched TV.
Fri – School. Stan & I went to TJ for meeting with Klook (about Frank). Cleaned house. Visited Iames & got paper.
Sat – Washed clothes. Stan shoveled snow. Went to bank, store. Waited for book mobile (didn’t come). Made cream puffs. Filling too soupy. Played cards. Watched TV. Made fudge.
Sun – Made filling for cream puffs. Prisilla Austin came. Carol & Jim came, too. Worked on books. Carol & Jim didn’t stay for supper. Snowed. Kids got baths.

Thu – School. Rain. Packed Julie’s lunch. Washed clothes. Made date cookies & date cake. Made turnovers & Bar B Q eye of round. Cleaned kitchen. Read & watched TV.

Fri – School. Cleaned living room. Took shower. Went to dairy & store. Took Harry to dental clinic. Carol & Elaine came for supper. Stan stuck with Datsun. Home very late.

Fri – School. Frank back. Cleaned house. Iced cake. Made veal parmesan & twists. Carol came for supper. Talked about business.

Sat – Washed clothes. Kids cleaned. Went to bookmobile & store. Called Marion. Watched Science TV. Visited Merry Jo McGee. Took recording of 1^st grade singing to hear.

Thu – No school. 7 inches of snow. Kids made igloo. Washed clothes. Shoveled front walk. Knitted & watched TV.

Fri – School (-2). Bitter. Simca wouldn’t start. Took Stan then Dave to work. Went to town to see about food stamps. Laura called from Calif. Called Eleanor. Harry went to basketball game. Stayed overnight.

Sat – Washed clothes. Changed with Ivan. Washed lunch dishes (he did clothes). Kids set up bed for Frank. Cleaned. Harry & Greg went to Vince Likar’s to play bridge. Elaine called.

Sat – Washed clothes. Kids cleaned. Baked pumpkin cookies & fruit cocktail cake (ugh). Had pepper steak. Oven didn’t work right. Watched Hula bowl. Played cards.

Sun – Read paper. Cooked kielbossi & French toast. Went to Clairton – no flea market. Snow (not as much as expected). Used electric roasters. Watched Super Bowl (Oakland 32 – Minn 14). Watched TV. Kids played in snow & got baths.

Mon – School. Cold & snow. Stan got milk. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Changed sheets. Watched “Man with the Golden Gun”.

Tue – School. Very cold. Greg stayed home. Went to Murphy’s Mart & store. Stan got Harry at school (sick). Had steak & French fries – good. Played cards.
