April 9 - April 15, 1969-1973

1969

Wed- School. Washed clothes. Ironed & put away. Made spaghetti. Stan went to school.

Thu – School. Ironed. Sewed Carol’s dress. Took Bill up to HS. Stopped at Foodland. Made cream puffs. Went to store for turkey fixings. Stan bowled.

Fri – School. Bill & I fixed turkey. Too many spices. Made pies. Wendy came for supper. Furniture repair man came.

Sat – Kids signed up for baseball. Carol went to Eastland. Washed clothes & ironed. Bill went out for dinner. Stan went to Hatfield’s. Cleaned kitchen.

Sun – Took David to Sparkle for 1^st day work. Cut out Carol’s dress. Went to Haines. Made meat loaf, cole slaw. Stan & Bill went to visit Grandpap, Dad & Hatfields.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Sewed Carol’s pink dress. Made rolls. Stan went to Carbide Eng. Got Carol at bus stop.

Tue – School. Carol took car & went to Dr. Siegel’s & work. Redid Carol’s dress. Mary, Stella & Bill stopped out in evening.

1970

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Sorted mittens & jackets. Ironed. Made cream puffs. Stan went bowling. Finished Elaine’s outfit.

Fri – School. Swept & mopped cellar. Cleaned kitchen. Sewed & finished Julie’s outfit. Elaine brought Gladys home for supper. Went to store. Stan & I went to drive-in. “True Grit” & “Sterile Cookie”

Sat – Slept little late. Washed clothes. Didn’t iron. Stan went to bank & paid on car rental. Went to South Hills Village. Carol went to wedding with Greg.

Sun – Beautiful day. Dave & I leveled corner. Transplanted silver sagtolina. Stan fixed torn door & pruned trees. Carol took ride with Greg & top down. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Burned rubbish Ironed. Fixed pork roast. Carol had car. Stan took me to Sears & Acme. Got bed frame. Stan fixed it. Didn’t go to Carbide Eng. Hamed called.

Tue – School. Rain. Mended. Baked cookies. Carol home early (cold in eyes). Took Mrs. Iames – went to South Hills Village. Carol went to school. Watched TV. Apollo 13 flight in trouble.

Wed – School. Beautiful day. Made pudding. Washed hair. Burned rubbish & old bed. Weeded. Wrote thank you to Kate for jelly. Watched TV. Gave Stan hair trimming.

1971

Fri – No school. Kids did cleaning. Went to store. Baked nut roll. Watched TV.

Sat – Washed clothes. Dyed eggs. Went to beauty parlor. Had hair cut. Andrea stayed for supper. Went to Dad’s. Nancy & husband Sam Estes were there. Stopped at Pap’s. Not home.

Sun – Easter. Beautiful day. Kids looked for baskets. Hung one outside. Relaxed. Stan set tree stump afire. Greg & Harry slept out. Elaine slept at Andrea’s. Bathed Julie & Ivan. Stan visited Pap.

Mon – No school. Really warm day 70 degrees. Went to Murphy Mart. Got garbage cans. Elaine’s white chair came. Stan went bowling.

Tue – School. Bill got ladders. Stan got supplies. Worked on back. Washed clothes. Folded & ironed. Swept & mopped cellar. Stan went out. Went to store.

Wed – Cleaned out fire place. Washed & cut Julie’s hair. Went to K-Mart. Left Plymouth for front-end alignment. Stan & Bill worked on back trim & gutters. Picked up car & knitted.

Thu – School. Frank home. Stan & Frank worked on back gutter. Washed clothes. Started to sew Dave’s sweater. Stan went bowling. Bruce & Bryon stopped out. Bill brought girl, Mickey. Had discussion.

1972

Sun – Cool. Baked cake. Read paper. Dug stones out of back yard. Fertilized trees. Stan moved sand. Frank worked with Bill. Dave & Elaine went to LRY. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Knitted. Stan went to Carbide Eng meeting. Went to Giant Eagle Grand Opening. Murphy’s too crowded. Got Stan.

Tue – School. Straightened house. Sewed Julie shorts. Made cream puffs. Elaine went to dentist. Went to PTA meeting. Dr. spoke on poisons.

Wed – School. Stan home sick. Planted strawberries. Worked outside. Nice day. Went to store & Murphy Mart. Got white yarn.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Ironed. Made chicken & pineapple stuffing. Made meringue pie with pineapple & strawberries. Stan got 4 new tires for Plymouth. Dave worked.

Fri – School. Wrote letters & sent pictures to Bill, Honey & Bernice. Cleaned living room & kitchen. Went to bank and Foodland. Kids showed home movies. Flip stayed overnight.

Sat – Slept late. Washed clothes. Kids cleaned. Stan worked on mowers. Went to store. Elaine cooked lasagna. Stan & I went to Holiday House bowling banquet.

1973

Mon – School. Got a call to get Harry. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Went to Foodland. Bill got me milk. Typed invoices. Stan & Bill went to Carbide Eng.

Tue – School. Made cookies, brownies, soup & potato salad. Went to bank & store. Went to bookmobile. Went to PTA meeting. Children had program. Voted to change to PTO. Snow.

Wed – School. Snow flurries. Wrote Bill (brother). Called about PTA. Made fruit dessert & baked steak. Read story.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Elaine came home. Washed clothes. Took Ivan to dental clinic. Elaine went too. Stopped at Bakery. Went to dairy. Went to Thorofare. Called Caroline.

Fri – School. Wrote checks. Sorted mail. Cleaned living room & kitchen. Called Carol & Stella.

Sat – Tired. Took Gregory to H.S. He took math test at Dub. Ivan cut grass. Stan burned stump. Went to bed early.

Sun – Nice day. Made lemon dessert, scalloped potatoes. Went to Haines then Oakland to get Elaine from school. She cleaned out her stuff. Stayed at Andrea’s. Ivan had exb. Game.
