June 19 - June 25, 64-68

1964

Fri – Went to Bible School. Went to store. Relaxed. Hot & muggy. Made ravioli & sauce. Last of home canned tomatoes. Went to drive-in (D-E-F-G-M) saw “Sword & Stone” and “McLintoch”. Stan went to Hatfield’s.

Sat – Slept late. Had brunch. Took Bill shopping for camp. Kids cleaned up. Very hot. Took kids swimming at East Dr. Jane Ondich came too. Supper late. Baths & TV.

Sun – Didn’t go to SS. Helped Bill with papers. Rickey came too. Hot day. Had Dad & Mary for dinner for Father’s day dinner. Bob H. came out. Showed movies. Had watermelon. Bob stayed all night.

Mon – Went to Bible School. Hot day. Bob went home. Washed clothes & folded clothes. Went to store. Took bath & bathed kids.

Tue – Dad came. Went to Bible School. Very hot & humid. Fixed lunch. Went to Planned Parenthood & music store. Ironed in eve. Stan went to David’s ballgame. Dave pitched but lost. Hoed garden & burned rubbish.

Wed – Took Carol & Greg to dentist. Took specimen to McKeesport Hospital. Got kids from Bible School. Cleaned the cellar. Baked cake & brownies. Relaxed.

Thu – Went to Bible School. Dave went to music lesson. Washed clothes. Went to store for order. Preg report negative. Carol ate at Cheryl Watson’s. Stan went to Dave’s ballgame (JH won 10-8). Started Carol’s sweater. Jane stayed overnight.

1965

Sat – Made potato salad, cakes, etc. for party. Lovely day. Had 20 girls here for Carol’s birthday. Stella & Bill stopped out. All went well. Took bath. Tired.

Sun – Went to SS with Ivan. Stopped at store. Dad came out for Father’s day picnic. Had Crail children, too. All had good time.

Mon – Took Frank for 1^st day of summer school. Enrolled Elaine. Took back chairs to Whetzel. Washed & ironed clothes. Went to Eastland. Got battery for Plymouth. Got Stan from work. Worked contest.

Tue – Took Elaine & Frank to Summer School. Went to store. Made chicken soup. Worked on Occupation Contest. Made 2 copies. Watered garden.

Wed – Summer school. Washed clothes. Ironed. Went to Boy Scout card party. Didn’t win a thing. Mrs. Marks & children flew to Calif.

Thu – Summer school. Relaxed. Mended. Went to TOPS. Mary E & Helen F queen (-1 ½) Irene pig (+3)

Fri – Summer school. Kids helped me clean house. Mended. Took Carol’s shaver back & got thank you cards. Went to Haines for store order.

1966

Sun – Slept late. Didn’t go to SS or church. Made French toast. Went to store. Fixed Father’s day supper. Planted flowers & watered.

Mon – Washed clothes. Fixed lunch. Took Elaine & Frank swimming. Mark’s came back from California (visit). Stan didn’t go bowling. Folded & ironed. Took shower.

Tue – Hot & sunny. Baked banana cake & cup cakes. Took Harry & Gregory swimming. Took Carol to Suzy’s She stayed for supper at Susy’s. Stan & I got her in evening. Watched ball game on TV.

Wed – Hot. Took Elaine, Annette, & Ivan swimming. Ivan fell in 4 ft. Two women pulled him out. Watched TV. Took shower.

Thu – Made soup & macaroni salad. Washed clothes. Took Carol, Greg, Harry swimming. Didn’t go to TOPS. Ironed & put away clothes. Stan went to Meadows with fellows from work.

Fri – Went to bank & Krogers. Carol & I went shopping. Bought her bell-bottoms. Relaxed. Watched TV. Took shower (92 degrees).

Sat – Slept late. Kids helped me clean house. Stan started vacation. Bill went to work and decided to move on his own. Called Mom. Carol went to Mary Ellen’s cookout.

1967

Mon – Washed clothes. Carol went to store & shoe maker. Folded & put away clothes. Ironed. TV going blinky.

Tue – Too Plymouth for inspection & change brake lever. Took Elaine & Ivan swimming. Took Carol & Jane to Susy’s. Baked brownies, cookies, bread. Carol stayed over at Jane’s.

Wed – Sorted clothing for vacation. Cleaned out kitchen cupboards. Sewed my dress. Stan took boys to ballgame (Jayhawks 14 – Parrots 5). Sue Eichler came for Elaine.

Thu – Washed clothes. Rained. Went to Laundromat & store. Folded & put away. Went to TOPS (-1/2)

Fri – Went to bank & store. Kids cleaned house & car. Got packed. Took Ivan & Julie to Dad’s. Kids played ball (Jayhawks 13 – Hawks 5). Stan tied suitcases on rack. Made sandwiches.

Sat – Up early. Ate breakfast & gathered supplies. Drove to New York. Dep 7:20 – Arrive 4:30. Ate sandwiches & cantaloupe Had three rooms. One with kitchenette. Kids took swim & went to beach.

Sun – Slept in. Drove to Honey’s. Met Mike and all the kids. Wonderful family. Went to beach. Swam. Had cookout. Rained suddenly. Met Honey’s parents. A wonderful day.

1968

Wed – Washed clothes. Had Tom Thumb wedding. Had cake. Pat Shuback came down. Went to store. Fixed supper. Stan took Harry, Greg and me to ballgame (Pirates 2 – Los Angeles 1) Frank had game (Orioles 3 – Hawks 2)

Thu – Ironed clothes & mended. Read magazines. Stan & Dave worked on stumps. Visited with Ramsey’s about tulips.

Fri – Kids cleaned house. Went to Clabers, K-Mart & Thorofare. Washed clothes. Ironed. Took kids swimming. Got baby pool same place got Harry’s bicycle. Stan took kids to game (Jayhawks 29 – Cardinals 17).

Sat – Stan had to work. Washed windows. Went to store. Cleaned bedroom. Stan got cherries. Pitted them. Fr, Gr & H slept out. Elaine went swimming at Shubacks.

Sun – Baked cherry pies. Cleaned kitchen. Got ready. Went to Helen’s after Carol finished work. D,Fr & Gr stayed home. Stopped at Mom’s & Hatfield’s. Butch had nice party.

Mon – Washed clothes. Ironed. Took kids swimming. Game rained out. Went to Sears and Acme.

Tue – Mended clothes. Moved evergreens. Kids moved cans & stones. Augie came with machine. Dug footers front & back. Stan took Gr & H to ballgame (Bluejays 2 – Jayhawks 0). Knitted.
