Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & rearranged cellar. Dave mopped. Changed sheets. Carol called. Drove out to Greentree to get turkey. Light snow.

Tue – School. Drove Frank. Made rolls. Made cranberry conserve. Dave took kids to Pitt Dental (J & I). Mended clothes. Finished sock. Went to store.

Wed- School. Stan went to Dr. to have operation. Baked pies. Mrs. Crain stopped. Made yams. Went to school. Dan Arico was here. Dave listened to Big 300.

Thu – Fixed turkeys. Cord didn’t fit for roaster pan. Got Mrs. Iames. Set table downstairs and up. Carol & Jim, Elaine & Don, Carolyn & Bill & all others were here. Nice dinner. Gift exchange names.

Fri – No school. Straightened house. Fixed lunch. Took Ivan & Julie to Eastland for gift exchanges.

Sat – Washed clothes. Went to store. Pd. K-Mart bill. Stan worked at shop. Watched football. Went to Walt & Helen’s – not home. Dave got kids hamburgers.

Sun – Read paper. Made pancakes. Worked on accounting. Took Ivan & Julie to H. Johnston for birthday supper. Rain changed to snow. Stan gave car to Frank.

1975

Tue – School. Ripped out neck & started again. Mended. Took Ivan to Pitt Dental. Went to store. Watched assassins TV show.

Wed – School. Took Julie for glasses. Stopped at store. Made pies. Aluminum pans collapsed. Dave started to listen to WTAE 300. Bill came for roaster. Stan & I went to Liberty Precision for turkey. Dave & Ivan listened to Big 300.

Thu – Thanksgiving. Listened to Big 300. I went over to get Elaine. Dave mailed entry to WTAE. We all went to Bill & Carolyn’s. We had a nice time. Home early. Chopped celery, etc. Elaine rode back with Andrea.

Fri – No school. Harry rode in with Bill & went to Library. Washed clothes & fixed turkey. Dave worked after. & eve. Had turkey dinner.

Sat – Drove Dave to work. Went to Bill’s & Perry. Shop & Save. Got table & brought them to Elizabeth. Cleaned house. Went to store. Started to knit Harry’s sweater.

Sun – Up late. Read paper. Fixed meat for tenderizing & potatoes. Went to Ellsworth & got desk & bookcase. Dave went to Murphy Mart Christmas party. Made date brownies & knitted. Called Stella & John in Texas.

Mon – No school. Washed clothes. Swept cellar. Kids mopped. Ivan went to shop with Stan. Drove Greg & Harry to get glasses fixed. Julie changed frames. Kids got baths.

1976

Thu – Thanksgiving. Fixed turkey. Elaine & Lee came. Dave & Frank, Carol & Jim. Bill & Carolyn came later. Had dinner with all the trimmings. Greg gave out buttons & mugs.

Fri – School. Kids didn’t want to go. Julie had girl friend for lunch. Had left-overs. Watched Pitt 24 – Penn State 7.

Sat – Washed clothes. Washed clothes. Went to store. Kids put up outside lights. Had early supper. Babysat Troy & Carrie Donaghue at Iames.

Sun – Read paper. Elaine & Lee came to say good-bye. Had lunch with us. Julie & I potted plants & made meat loaf. Went to Dave’s. Hung new drapes. Got dirty clothes. Watched TV.

Mon – Washed clothes (D&F’s too). Swept & mopped cellar. Baked cherry, cranberry, apple pie mixture. Changed sheets. Bill H. helped Stan – stayed for supper. Greg home late. Cold & snow (0 degrees).

Tue – Slept in. Cleaned out refridgerator. Fixed left-overs for lunch. Went to bank to sign note. Made baked chicken. Buildt fire. Harry & Stan went after car. Didn’t get it. (Subaru – mix-up)

Wed – School. Greg took Pontiac to work. Mended. Stan drove me to McKeesport to sign up ( a little bit too late). Greg came for check (Subaru). Watched “Hombre” with Paul Newman.

1977

Fri – No school. Stan worked. Marion called. Had turkey sandwiches. Carol called. Called Mary. Read. Had left-overs. Steve & Patty Z. came. Played ping pong. Stopped over Iames. Sharon to go home.

Sat – Cold. Light snow. Went to store. Stan home at lunch time. Watched Penn State 15 – Pitt 13. Washed clothes. Dave worked. Harry worked. Greg helped Dave at Ponderosa.

Sun – Slept late. Showered & washed hair. Made French toast. Dave worked 11-6 at Murphy Mart. Made roast beef – gingerbread & orange whip. Steelers 23 – Jets 20. Mary called John (Texas). Light snow – slippery.

Mon – No school. Harry moved downstairs. Thoroughly cleaned the upstairs. Bill H. stopped out. Gave him sweater set for B.J. Had supper late. Finished cleaning. Kids got baths.

Tue – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Drove Greg to work (couldn’t get out of driveway). Went to store. Baked molasses & lemon pies. Fixed supper early for Dave. Read.

Wed – School. Julie didn’t feel well. Eleanor called. Took bus. Went to town. Had appointment about homemaker part-time. Shopped. Dave picked me up at milk store. Relaxed.

Sun – Slept late. Fixed late lunch. Read paper. Frank played football. Went to store. Trimmed Harry’s hair & packed his lunch. Watched TV. Harry called late. Arrived. Bill called. First snow.

Thu – School. Stan went late. Wrote letters to Elaine & Harry. Washed clothes. Made brownies. Stan took Subaru to get snow tires. Watched TV & crocheted. Carol called.

Fri – School. Sorted Sunday papers (contest). Cleaned house. Scrubbed rack for dishes. Greg called – good grades. Went to bank & store. Went to K-Mart.

Tue – School. Mended. Sewed Julie’s nightgown. Took Julie to dental clinic. Picked up Elaine’s clothes. Washed them. Went to store. Dave came home. Called Elaine.

Wed- School. Poured rain. Washed Dave’s clothes. Did homework. Went to school. Stopped at store. Dave took Harry to pick up glasses & took Elaine her clothes.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Sewed Julie’s robe. Made apple dessert. Dave got salt for water softener. Marion called. Watched TV.

Fri – School. Cleaned living room, dining room & bedroom. Ate lunch (just Dave & I(. Stan went to Ohio for materials. Cleaned kitchen & bathroom. Went to store. Had meatless lasagna & spinach souffle. Stan went to shop.

Sat – Washed clothes. Did homework. Mrs. O came up with aprons. Stan worked at shop. Priscilla Austin called. Watched Symphony & “This Woman is not for Burning” on TV.

Sun – Up early. Stan & I worked on bank account balance. Went to see Mrs. Buzek & got milk. Julie made cake. Stan & I went to shop. Watched TV. Marion called.

Tue – School. Carol called. Wrote to Brother Bill in Calif. Went to store. Made kapusta & iced cake. Picked up Elaine. She visited & stayed for supper. Took Elaine shopping & drove her to Oakland.

Wed – School. Very foggy & high pollution. Cleaned kitchen walls & moved refrig & stove. Dave helped. Dave cleaned car. Stan fixed car doors. Marion called. Knitted my sweater & finished it. Mr. Rothey died.

Thu – School. Greg home sick. Washed clothes. Sewed & washed my sweater. Made cherry cobbler & beef stroganoff. Dave worked overtime. Stan took Ivan back to shop with him.

Fri – School. Drove Dave to work. Went to A&P in Elizabeth (closing). Went to Shop N Save. Cleaned kitchen & bath. Went to funeral home (Rothey). Stan made fire. I mixed dough. Carol came & visited (gave money).

Sat – Baked cinnamon bread. Called Marion. Washed clothes. Cleaned living room & dining room. Watched Pitt (6) – Penn State (7) game. Good game. Tore out top of Greg’s white sweater. Re-knitted.

Sun – Nice day. Read paper. Put roast on & fixed potatoes. Went to Marion’s. Got toy organ & clothes. Met Dorothy. Kids got baths. Called Mary.

Mon – School. Ivan had field trip. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Changed sheets. Mary stopped out with orange marmalade. Knitted Greg’s sweater. Watched game Steelers 32 – Houston 9.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Sewed & washed couch covers. Carol came for lunch. Eleanor came in afternoon about button holes. Took Julie & Ivan shopping. Stan worked with Bill H. on truck.

Fri – School. Cleaned couches & chairs. Cleaned rug. Stan went to Latrobe – ordered equipment. Paid bills. Uncle Bill delivered Dave furniture. He worked on state body truck. Greg worked over. Played cards.

Sat – Kids cleaned. Washed clothes. Cut grass. Ivan finished grass. Kids straightened cellar. Harry worked. Julie & I washed dishes out of China closet. Julie made her 1^st pie (apple). Watched “Billy Jack”.

Sun – Put dishes back in China closet. Read paper. Went to store. Steelers 32 – Houston 16. Light snow. Made kapusta & pierogi. Dave came. Washed clothes. Watched TV & strung seed beads.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Bill H. worked on truck at shop. Changed sheets. Made BBQ pork. Watched TV.

Tue – School. Stan went to Vet Hospital. Went to store. Came home. Went to Murphy Mart. 15% day. Tried on things. Went back in evening. Harry worked with Benack’s.

Wed – School. Went to McKeesport to sign up. Baked rolls, pumpkin pies & cake. Dan Arico stopped. Bill H. helped Stan – stayed for supper. Light snow – slippery.

1977

Fri – School. Harry took the car. Snow flurries. Cleaned house. Fixed sauerkraut. Harry worked. Stan, Ivan, Julie & I went to see Dodge kids at Syria Mosque. Very good.

Sat – Stan went to shop. Home early for lunch. Washed clothes. Stan went to Dr. Charlton. Sharon Iames came over. Boys moved junk to curb. People took it. Called Hatfields.

Sun – Nice day. Read paper. Made rum cake. Stan put up door in garage. Watched Steelers 28 – Dallas 13. Mary called. Trimmed hair. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Went to store. Marion called. Made meat patties, mushrooms & gravy. Greg worked half day at Ponderosa. Harry got milk. Mary called.

Tue – School. Sharon Iames came over. Made sweet-sour pork. Went to Foodland. Took Sharon to Shop N Save with me. Mary called. Barbara Kostreva in hospital.

Sun – Made dough (rolls). Wrote checks. Read paper. Made apple pies & rolls. Had soup & kielbassi. Watch Steelers 7 – Cincinnati 6. Dave came – took Ivan driving. Watched Pearl. Cut Stan & Dave’s hair.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Stan got tires fixed. Called Eleanor. Marion called. Cleaned kitchen. Stan went bowling. Called Hatfields. Julie taught me backgammon.

Tue – School. Cleaned living room, etc. Got ticket from Tarentum. Wrote letter. Ivan drove me to Maracinni & Shop N Save. Made smores.

Wed – School. Baked pies & cake. Cleaned bathroom. Greg came over. Made chili. Dan Arico called – missed Harry. Chopped vegetables for stuffing. Harry called. Ivan & I picked him up in Uniontown.

Tue – School. Went to McKeesport for female examination. Frank home. Took Julie & Ivan to dentist. Home late. Waited for Frank. Had discussion.

Wed- School. Blue. Baked brownies & pumpkin cookies. Felt blue. Knitted. Went to school. Stan & guys here.

Thu – School. Very blue. Washed clothes. Mr. Iames came over – talked. Eleanor called. Walter Earl operated on yesterday. Called Elaine. Carol came. Snow flurries.

Fri – School. Cleaned house. Stan & I had long talk. Sandy Colonna had baby boy yesterday morning. Felt better. Marion called.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Typed shop inventory. Read Newsweek. Called Eleanor. Marion called. Stan deposited check & paid mortgage for Oct & Nov. Stan had meeting with Fred &* Louise.

Fri – School. Cleaned. Dave stalled with car. Stan helped him. I went to bank & store. Got food stamps. Went to Jim’s to get snow tires. Snowed. Finished shop inventory. Dan came. Went to Clabers.

Sat – Went to store & Greg went Murphy Mart. Went to milk store. Ivan went hiking. Julie went skating. Harry worked. Watched “Godfather”. Carol & Jim came. Brought kitty.

Sun – Light snow. Got papers & read. Mary called. Watched Steelers. Made fish, potatoes, zuccini. Elaine called. Harry worked (eve). Dave worked (after). Watched “Godfather”.

Wed- School. Carol called. Took shower. Read. Made sauerkraut & pork. Baked cake. Went to night school. Stopped at store on way home.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Called Gloria Goughnour. Knitted. Did homework. Stan went to shop. Made chicken & Bar-B-Q sauce.

Fri – School. Cleaned house. Weeded. Stan got me milk. Cut out Julie’s robe & nightgown. Took Ivan to look for baseball glove and candy for birthday. Couldn’t find glove.

Sat – Washed clothes. Went to Grants & Krogers. Made frozen dessert. Elaine, Don & Tom stopped in. Greg broke play glasses. Stan went to shop. Knitted. Julie visited new neighbors.

Sun – Exercised & showered. Called Marion. Made pancakes & eggs. Did homework. Iced Ivan’s cake. Stan looked at car & cut rug for Julie’s room. Ivan got note for baseball glove, magic markers & play dough.

Fri – Cleaned house. Called Merry Jo McGee about Watko robbery. Called Stella. Stan went to see Freddie Wonder. Watched TV & knitted. Dave got stalled with Plymouth.

Sat – Rain. Washed clothes. Kids cleaned. Drove Dave to work in Simca. Stan sprayed Plymouth carburetor. Knitted. Dave worked Ponderosa.

Sun – Read papers. Carol called. Washed hair. Made meat mix & fix baked potatoes. Drove out to Bruce’s garage & his trailer. Played cards & watched “Walking Tall”.

Mon – No school – Teacher’s work day. Drove Ivan around to look for birthday present. Mix-up about Julie’s Girl Scout bowling. Stan went to Carbide Engineers & I went to Bingo with Gretchen Benack (won $17.00).

Fri – School. Washed clothes & completely cleaned the upstairs. Julie stayed for lunch at school. Went to store. Stan & I went to Dave’s (not there but Frank was). Took book case. Called Mary.

Sat – Slept late. Washed 1 load. Cleaned living room, kitchen, etc. Made apple cake & baked frozen peach pie. Boys helped Stan at shop to clean up.

Sun – Slept late. Went to store. Went to shop. Took table to Dave’s. Stella, Mary & Bill stopped here – brought sheets. Dave & Frank came & washed clothes. Made popcorn. Watched “Gone With the Wind”.

Mon – Snow. Bus didn’t come until (:00 o’clock. Washed clothes. Changed sheets. Washed glassware from shop. Bill H. helped Stan at shop. Stayed for supper & helped Dave move refridgerator. Watched “Gone With the Wind”.

Tue – School. Record cold (15 degrees). Carol called. Went to Clairton – stopped at Dave’s. Cut out & sewed his drapes. Bill H. came out. Loaded truck with junk but too late. Drove Bill home. Took drapes to Dave’s.

Wed – School. Stan got Bill H. I signed up in McKeesport. Stopped at store. Made Ivan’s birthday cake. Dave stopped. Took Julie & Ivan shopping. Priced toys.

1977

Fri – School. Got up to 74 degrees. Cleaned house. Made pies. Went to store. Called Mary. Had early supper. Went to TJ – Monessen game. Big crowd. Lost (44-35).

Sat – Stan went early to shop. Washed clothes. Went to store. Dave worked. Watched fights on TV. Had pizza & pop. Stan had wine. Frank called from Louisiana.

Sun – Made pumpkin cream pie. Made stuffing for pork chops. Had lunch. Julie & I went to Snyder’s. She had fun with Lynnley. Stan took care of supper. Read paper. Kids played football.

Wed – School. Wrote Uncle Harold. Beautiful day (70 degrees). Broke up last of branches. Picked gr. peppers from garden. Called Stella. Went to store. Stan went in to Hatfield’s.

Thu – School. Dark & rainy. Washed clothes. Couldn’t get Dave’s car started. Pontiac wouldn’t start either. Harry drove Dave to work – got new terminal. Stan fixed car. Turned cold.

Sat – Foggy. Stan went for pipe. Mike Kulich came. Dug sewage ditch. Stan got pipe. Penn State 27 – Maryland 3. Harry called. Stan didn’t have couplers, went to Bargain Corner. Stella called.

Sun – Stan did papers. Stan worked on laying pipe. Got near top. Greg came to put up lights. Dave had last day Murphy’s. Bill & Carolyn came – worked on cars. All here for supper. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Ivan suspended. Julie took crutches (foot). Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Ivan worked on ditch. Made veal stroganoff. Ivan & Frank went to Dave & Greg’s for dinner. Stan went bowling. Watched TV.

Tue – School. Rain. Made soup & cookies. Had fish, fr. fries & apple caramel dessert. Took Ivan in about glasses. Went to store. Voted. Dave came. Watched TV – election. Tried to call Elaine – no answer.

Wed – School. Bill stopped with Mercedes. Ivan worked on digging sewer line (hand). Sewed new pants. Took things back to store. Got material & curtains. Bill & Carolyn came. Looked at kitchen cabinets. Sold but wrong way.

Thu – School. Ivan back. Got ready. Earl picked me up. Went to town. Had tribunal (Bernice). Stan home early. Worked on sewage. Made lasagna. Called Marion. Watched TV.

Fri – School. Foggy. Cleaned house. Baked cake. Made pork & vegetables – good. Made pineapple whipped cream dessert. Went to Gold Circle & Krogers.
