Wed- School. Carol missed bus. Drove to stop. Got mixed up coming home. Washed Carol’s windows & storm windows. Went to PTA meeting. Stan worked on steps. Planted phlox.

Thu – School. Rain. Made rolls, cake, jello salad, chicken cacciatore. Washed clothes. Stan went bowling. Went to store. Got Frank shoes.

Fri – School. Cleaned kitchen. Went to bank & store. Went to Penney’s in evening. Got Dad’s birthday present. Carol got Janey at Indiana.

Sat – Cleaned. Washed clothes. Went to store. Cut grass. Took Elaine to football game (TJ 36 – El. For. 0).

Sun – Stan took Pap to funeral home (Pap’s sister). Cleaned bedroom. Carol & Janey came up for supper. Baked cake. Watched TV. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Went to Eastland. Took back shirts. Bought drapes. Carol worked late. Picked her up. Planted hedge & bulbs.

Tue – School. Stan took Pap to funeral. Light rain. Painted ceiling of my bedroom. Went to PTA meeting. Get acquainted night.

1970

Thu – School. Finished Elaine’s rose dress. Made cho chip cookies. Cleaned out ref. Made fresh orange juice. Stan went bowling. Frank’s team lost first game. Cleaned kitchen Elaine made cup cakes.

Fri – School. Wrote checks. Went shopping & bank. Took Frank to S. Hills Village. Got sport coat. Carol had Hopi, Tom & Greg. Made pizza. Had nice visit.

Sat – Washed clothes. Greg & Stan went to Frank’s football practice. Bill home (He & Wendy came). Kids cleaned. Baked applesauce cake. Got things ready for picnic. Carol babysat Gertners. Stayed overnight.

Sun – Had French toast. Packed picnic basket. Went to Falling Water – beautiful. Then Ohio Pyle. Bill, Wendy and Carol & Greg came too. Cool but nice. Home early.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Folded & ironed. Changed sheets. Made stuffed loaf. Bill stopped over. Talked. Stan went bowling. Went to store.

Tue – School. Washed clothes & dining room curtains. Washed dining room windows & storm windows. Planted geraniums. Went to Dad and Mary’s. He opened presents. Had cake. Bill & Wendy came.

Wed – School. Washed hair. Went to Eastland & Foodland. Made lemon mousse & cocoa peanut krispies. Cut front grass. Watered. Frank had ball game (TJ 14 – Baldwin 2). Stan did shop work at home.

1971

Fri – Elaine went for drivers test (failed). Lost contact. We all looked for it. Made pies. Scrubbed upstairs bathroom. Finished dress.

Sat – Took Elaine early for driving test (passed). Drove her to town. Washed clothes. Went to store. Ironed. Elaine drove to Andrea’s.

Sun – Stan & I went to UU. Fixed coffee & tea. Went to nursing home. Visited Elsie Donnelly & Mary Conway. Watched TV. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Ironed. Stan went bowling. Got Carol from school.

Tue – School. Straightened house. Cut out my dress & sewed. Carol got a couple more wedding gifts.

Wed – School. Made cookie dough. Went to store. Stan went to Fr’s football game. Pirates won play-offs. Baked cookies.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Iced cookies for wedding. Ironed. Made meatloaf. Jane Ondich came up. Carol went shopping for living room furniture. Dave worked.

Sun – Slept late. Brunch. Dug up geraniums. Stan worked at shop. Bill H. worked on truck. Dave came for supper. Drove him home. Stan got Datsun. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Changed sheets. Bill H. & Bruce worked on truck body. Went to Penn Hills with Kirby. Tired.

Tue – School. Packed kids lunch. Straightened house. Went to shop. Swept. Painted garage door. Bill went to Cindrich. Bill Hat. Came out. Took truck. Went to Penn Hills to get sweeper.

Wed –School. Went to Giant Eagle (20% off). Cleaned up lunch. Talked on phone. Cut front grass. Greg picked apples. Stan, Bill & Frank went to shop. Went to store. Made peppermint candy.

Thu – Made apple pies. Made stuffed peppers & galumpkies. Big job. Guys worked at shop. Bill H. returned truck.

Fri – School. Bill slept late. Face (lip) swollen. He went to bank & store. Made potato salad. Gathered things for party. Went to Eleanor’s. Bill & Alice came. Dad’s 80^th birthday party. All went well.

Sat – Cooler. Washed clothes. Went to shop. Learn how to type up bills. Stan & Bill worked. Bill went to Clem’s. Frank went to game & worked at shop. Cleaned kitchen & bath.

Tue – School. Swept & mopped cellar. Cut out slacks. Called Stan. Carol & Jim went to visit. Washed clothes & mended.

Wed – School. Made spaghetti sauce. Took Julie to dental clinic. Long time. Got Elaine. Fixed supper. Went to hospital. Mary, Helen & Caroline came. Took Elaine home.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Cut out material. Called Eleanor. Started top (for brown slacks). Went to hospital. Uncle Bill there. Got stuck in rain storm. Julie scared.

Fri – School. Sew top. Too big. Cleaned kitchen & my bedroom. Took Greg to work & got milk. Went to ball game with Harry. TJ 35 – Elizabeth Forward 6. Stan called.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Baked lemon bread. Went to Sears & Acme. Stan went bowling. Went to Mrs. Iames. Played piano.

Fri – School. Ironed. Swept & mopped cellar. Carol took car for trip to Indiana. Cleaned kitchen & baked cookies. Kids, Stan & I went to ballgame (TJ 28- Ringold 12). Elaine babysat.

Sat – Took Dave to work & brought car back. Sheeting not ready. Washed clothes. Stan took boys to Little League banquet. Rain. Took leisure bath.

Sun – Made French toast. Went to Haines & White Cross. Stan worked on steps. Washed hair. Help Frank with leaves (for school). Frank up late.

Mon – School. Foggy. Packed lunches. Washed clothes. Went to Eastland. Bought shirts. Had pork & sauerkraut. Stan got sheeting for steps.

Tue – School. Carol took car. Washed windows & storm windows for dining room & Dave’s bedroom. Put glass in front door. Dave’s back hurt. Stan went out for dinner. (Joe Szymenski). Bill H. out.

Thu – Straightened house. Made cheese cake. Cut out plaid dress. Sewed. Watered. Stan went bowling. New sweeper came. Called Dad. Got letter from Bill about coming home.

Fri – School. Washed clothes. Julie & I went to store. Quick thunderstorm. Stan home early to see Frank’s scrimmage. Kids went to ball game (TJ 28 – Belle Vernon 6). Went to Zayre. Bill H. came out.

Sat – Washed clothes. Went to store. Elaine mixed dough for dough-nuts. Rolled yarn & started afghan. Helped Elaine. Rained in eve.

Sun – Rain. Went to UU services “No Church Church”. LRY bake sale. Read paper & crocheted. Mrs. O stopped. Greg & Harry went to LL Banquet. Got trophies. Dave had LRY.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Ironed. Changed sheets. Kids broke door glass (cellar). Stan went bowling. Went to store. Hatfields came out.

Tue – School. Worked outside on dirt at hill of strawberries. Cut out Elaine’s dress. Carol had car – night school. Went shopping.

Wed – School. Dave drove – Had senior picture taken. Washed clothes. Ironed, mopped. Sewed Elaine’s dress. Cut grass. Went to K-Mart for baby gift (Carol’s friend). Washed hair.

1971

Fri – Took Elaine to Dr. Siegel’s for 1^st fitting contacts. Went to town. Bought trousers for Dave & shirts. Elaine last day work. Kids went to football game. Dave had freshman day.

Sat – Washed clothes. Went to store. Didn’t go Rickey Marks’ wedding. Made cake. Made chili. Ironed clothes. Hoss, Bill, Stan & I played pinochle.

Sun – Slept late. Read paper. Fixed turkey & stuffing. Read book. Felt blue. Tension building for Carol’s wedding.

Mon – School. G & H missed bus. Dave drove them. Dave had 1^st day college. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Made tomato sauce. Stan bowled. Went to store. Bill H. came out.

Tue – School. Stan had bad cold. Cut out dress (me) & blouse (Carol). Stan took books to bookmobile. PTA – didn’t go. Washed Fr. uniform & Greg’s gym suit.

Wed – School. Hot & humid. Straightened house. Salesman came for Stan. Sewed Carol’s blouse. Harry lost glasses. Went to store. Took Mrs. Iames shoes to shoe man. Stan got Carol at school.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Stan worked on wall (to fix corner). Sewed dress for me. Called Marion Scheiman.

Sun – Stan & Bill worked at shop. Baked cake. Fixed potatoes. Went to funeral home. (Bill H.’s dad). Got my Dad. Had supper. Took him to shop. Elaine went to Carol’s.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Washed hair. Changed sheets. Kids had banquet (J.B.A.R.A.). Frank, Bill, Stan went to football game. Went to store.

Tue – School. Packed kids lunch. Straightened house. Went to shop. Washed windows & swept. Bill ate early. Elaine home late. Crying – scared. The guys worked at shop.

Wed – School. Went to 1^st PTA meeting. Went well. Rain. Called on phone. Russ Webb came again. Went to K-Mart & Thorofare.

Thu – School. Stan home sick. Phone installed. Washed clothes. Scrubbed living room carpet (glamorene). Went to PTA council meeting. Bill H. was here.

Fri – School. Rain. Packed lunches. Cleaned dining room carpet & kitchen. Picked tomatoes. Game cancelled. Bill got car fixed. Went to store. Went to bank. Ordered checks.

Sat – Kids cleaned. Stan went to bank. Took Datsun for touch-up. Bill H. worked on our truck. Washed clothes. Cleaned. Went to store. Got Grandpa’s present. Went to football game (TJ 27 – BV 0). Frank played at end.

Tue – School. Up early. Stan went to hospital (G.I. test). Typed invoices. Picked & canned tomatoes. Weeded. Washed kids football clothes. Mary called.

Wed – School. Stan had upper G.I. test. Took Julie to dental clinic. Wrote Harold. Elaine came home to wash clothes. Drove her back.

Thu – School. Stan still home. Pain. Went to Dr. Washed clothes. Straightened house. Watched TV & knitted. Called Mary again. Washed dining room windows. Put up storm windows.

Fri – School. Took Greg & Harry dentist (Pitt). Lazy. Rested. Elaine stopped here with friend. Walked from bank (loan money). Drove her back to Pitt. Game called – rain.

Sat – Stan went to Dr. Admitted to Homestead Hosp. Took Frank over to get Datsun. Visited Stan. Called Elaine & Carol. Game called – rain.

Sun – Cleaned kitchen & living room. Marion called. Nice day. Visited Stan. Got calls about Jaguar parts. Worked on invoices, monthly statements, etc.

Sat – Washed clothes. Ironed. Stan & Dave worked. Kids cleaned. Cleaned dining room. Went to store. Forgot about barber shop concert. Called Mary.

Sun – Beautiful day. Carol went to Indiana. Took kids to zoo. Elaine cooked supper. Stan & Dave worked on steps. Mrs. Iames & I worked crosswords. Kids got baths.

Fri – School. Went to K-Mart & Bank & Acme. Julie & I went to Health-a-Rama. Julie & I visited Dad & Mary. Jim & Marilyn there, too.

Sat – Washed clothes. Went to store. Kids cleaned. Made macaroni salad, gelatin, iced cup cakes. Sara & Flo came with Larry & Kevin for cook out. Stan took kids to Health-a-Rama.

Sun – Slept late. Julie & I went to UU services. Read paper & relaxed. Stopped at Haines. Had picnic supper. Dave & Elaine went to LRY. Drove out to find earring (in car).

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Changed sheets. Ironed. Made open fruit pie. Stan went bowling. Went to Eastland & Zayre. Got men’s jackets & Elaine’s skirt.

Tue – School. Packed J & I lunch. Cleaned bathrooms. Straightened house. Went to shop. Started to wash windows & sweep office. Got Dave at work. Tired. Stan went to shop. Went to store.

Wed –School. Made stuffed peppers & galumpkie. Picked & canned tomatoes. Took Ivan & Julie to dental clinic. Took food & stuff to Elaine. Went to dairy for milk.

Thu – school. Washed clothes. Cut front grass. Planted grass seed. Went to store. Got Harry from school – sick. Watched Billie Jean King beat Bobby Riggs (tennis). Knitted.

Fri – School. Took Ivan & Harry to dental clinic. Cleaned kitchen & living room. Trimmed hedges. Went to football game TJ – 20 Laurel Highlands 16.

Sat – Washed clothes & upstairs drapes. Washed some upstairs windows & storm windows. Took Stan to hospital (stomach pains). Got prescription.

Sun – Nice day. Stan had stomach ache. Baked cake & roast. Worked around & fertilized blueberries. Picked strawberries. Had Elaine’s car advertised. No one came.

Thu – School. Ironed clothes. Sewed hems. Worked on front. Raked by curb. Stan went bowling. Went to store. Picked up Carol. First to walk on concrete patio.

Fri – School. Harry & Ivan home sick. Cleaned kitchen. Dad came out. Took pictures. Got glass for windows. Spread fertilizer. Carol & Frank went to ballgame. TJ 20 – Clairton 0.

Sat – Dave worked. Stan home. Carol went shopping. Washed clothes. Stan took off framing. Stan had ear ache. Went to store. Buildt fire. Carol brought friends for wiener roast.

Sun – Stuffed turkey. Baked in electric roaster (took 8 hrs.). Worked on lower half of garden. Planted grass seed. Watered lawn. Kids got baths. Stan watched football.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Ironed. Bill H. & John H. stopped out. Made banana cream pudding & whipped cream. Went to K-Mart & Thorofare.

Sat – Washed clothes. Went to store. Dug crab grass. Stan got top soil. Raked. Carol fixed supper. Went to LRY – Las Vegas Night.

Sun – Nice day. Stan put stripping around tree. Put fertilizer & seed. Watered. Stan visited Pap. Called Stella. Worked crosswords. Carol took things to Janey. Kids had LRY.

Thu – School. Took Ivan to get bus for patrol camp. Greg home sick. Washed clothes. Took Frank to shop. Hammer broke. Stan at Dr. Got truck plates. Went to store.

Fri – School. Send out payments. Called Eleanor. Regina came. Fixed pears for canning & tomatoes. Watched “Around the World in 80 Days”. Stan & Bill worked on banner at shop.

Sat – Tired. Dave worked. Stan, Bill & Frank went to shop. Cleaned & washed clothes. Went to town to get Ivan. Went to store. Bill H. brought truck back with refrigerator.

Tue – School. Packed Julie’s lunch. Sick – diarrhea, ache. Called Elaine. Tried to fix tomatoes but couldn’t. Went to bed early.

Wed – Still not tops. Marion called – got job. Worked on tomatoes. Canned 8 qts. Cleaned up. Called Carol.

Thu – School. Packed Julie’s lunch. Washed clothes. Took Elaine’s car for inspection. Started Julie’s sweater. Went to Sears & Penneys. Got Jim’s birthday present. Stan went to John’s (Marks).

Fri – School. Took Harry & Greg to dental clinic. Car stalled in rain. Home late. Didn’t take kids to school. Game postponed (rain).

Sat – Kids helped clean. Washed clothes. Went to bank & store. Went to Eastland. Picked & fixed grapes (for jelly). Listened to TJ game TJ 29- Charleroi 14. Frank played good game.

Sun – Nice day. Stan & Bill went to shop. Called Elaine. Made jelly. Carol & Jim stopped out. Gave him knit shirt (birthday). Kids went to banquet (baseball). Had fish & chips. Made last of grape juice.

Thu – Carol missed bus. Drove her to P.Hills. Took pictures of kids. Cut grass. Drove Janie to bus. Stopped at store. Brought dirt to front. Stan went bowling. Dave went to see about job.

Fri – School. Cleaned kitchen. Weeded front yard. Kids went to football game. TJ 26 – Laurel Highlands 18. Diane stayed overnight.

Sat – Washed clothes. Stan took Dave for set day work (cleaning). Went to store. Cleaned dining room. Brought up dirt. Raked.

Mon – School. Rain. Washed clothes. Went to Eastland. Bought winter jackets. Bought grass seed. Worked on side grass (planted). Got letter from Bill.

Tue – School. Men came to pour concrete. Big job. Cut front grass. Raked & seeded. Carol took car to work & school. Sewed Elaine’s hem.

1970

Thu – Washed clothes. Picked strawberries. Ironed. Carol had car. Stan & Dave changed beds around. Girls got twin beds. Dave & Stan slept on floor for night.

Fri – Washed bed clothes. Fixed girls beds. Cleaned up. Cleaned kitchen. King sized bed came. Fixed it. Carol started on N.Y. vacation with Ondichs.

Sat – Washed clothes. Went to store. Ironed. Kids cleaned house. Sewed Elaine’s dress (skirt & top). Finished it. Stan went to the Meadows.

Sun – Baked pies. Weeded. Stan worked on wall between grass & portulacca. Greg took kids to South Park Fair. Bill H. stopped out. Took kids to drive-in “Airport” & “Willie Boy”. Dave & Elaine went to LRY.

Mon – Labor Day. Stan planted seed on side of house. Burned rubbish. Weeded. Had chicken on grill (outside). Kids cut grass. Carol home at lunch time. Greg visited. Kids got baths.

Tue – School. Washed clothes. Changed sheets. Mended clothes. Frank started back to football practice. Dug weeds. Carol had car – for night school. Called Gimbels about springs.

Wed – Made kapusta. Went to board meeting. Julie stayed in 1^st grade. Made periogi. Dug weeds. Went to Acme, Haines, & K-Mart. Bought pillows. Dave got glasses checked. Bedspread came.

1971

Fri –Bill worked on Jaguar. Washed clothes. Elaine visited Andrea (Tom drove her). Took kids to ballgame. Visited Beth Creil at Dad’s. Stan picked up kids. Relaxed. Brice H. came.

Sat – Hot & humid. Picked corn & tomatoes. Went to McKeesport. Got wedding gift & saw about food stamps. Elaine worked. Made strawberry pie. Weeded. Went to store. Accident at Peterson’s (2:15AM).

Sun – Went to Haines. Bruce came out to work on car (didn’t have tools). Carol came home from N.Y. Stan picked grapes. We worked on them. Stan & Bill strained juice. Dave & Elaine went to LRY.

Mon – Hot & humid. Washed clothes. Changed kids sheets. Made chicken soup. Carol & Jim went shopping for furniture. Kids got baths.

Tue – First day of school. Light drizzle in morn. Dave picked grapes. Washed clothes. Swept cellar. Dave mopped. Made jelly. Made tomato sauce. Tired.

Wed – Took some pictures. Called Eleanor. Joe Symanski called. Fixed & froze corn. Went to bank & store. Bob H. & girl stopped. Elaine worked. Weeded.

Thu – Washed clothes. Ironed. Jane, LaVerne & Roberta stopped with my school reunion picture. Went to town to meet Carol. Got veiling. Tired.

1972

Sun – Sold David’s car.

Mon Read paper. Canned tomato sauce. Went to store (Jammed – came home). Bill H. came out & got mortar box and tools. Went to Murphy Mart & Giant Eagle. Kids got baths.

Tue – First day of school. Went early & fixed flowers. Washed clothes. Swept cellar. Dave mopped. Went to diary & store. Fr. & Gr. football practice. Stan & I went to Zemprelli. Closing on business.

Wed – School. Regina Hatfield came down. Typed PTA book. Made apple & cherry pies. Picked grapes. Fixed them.

Thu – School. Packed kids lunch. Made grape jelly. Washed clothes. Went to store. Dave worked overtime. Fire on hill behind school.

Fri – School. Made tomato sauce and grape juice. Cleaned kitchen. Went to store (eve). Called utilities about change for business. Typed for PTA.

Sat – Washed clothes. Kids cleaned. Cleaned living room. Made apple pizza & tuna casserole. Went to Sears. Carol stopped in. Elaine worked 12 hours.

1973

Mon – Labor day. Elaine went over to school. Moved beds around. Carol took kids to Kennywood. Stan worked at Caroline’s. Took Elaine back to school. Stopped at funeral home (Ken Juliaman) & Eleanor’s.

Tue –First day of school. Took Greg to hospital (check up). Got football tickets. Got milk & went to store. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Took kids to ball game (Pirates).

Wed – School. Washed clothes. Cleaned up upstairs. Went to TV stamp. Got phono stand for Elaine. Picked tomatoes. Had kids cut grass.

Thu – School. Fixed tomatoes. Canned 6 qts. Made apple & grape pies. Picked more grapes. Fixed them. Made juice.

Fri – School. Stan went to eye doctor. Cleaned kitchen. Washed clothes. Got ready for game. Everybody went. TJ 8 – Ringgold 6.

Sat – Stan worked. Put clothes on to wash. Fixed pie & potatoes. Went to get Elaine. Home for supper. Bill H. visited from California. Took Elaine back. Tired.

Sun – Went down for grapes. Fixed & cooked them. Four pots. Big job. Tired.
