September 17 - September 23, 1969-1973

1969

Wed – School. Sewed & finished dress. Went to store. Stan went to management dinner. Carol went to Karley’s. Made apron. Rained.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Ironed. Changed boys sheets. Washed kitchen windows & curtains. Dave went to Dr (working permit). Stan went bowling. Dave & I piled up blocks.

Fri – School. Cleaned kitchen. Went to bank & store. Stan & I cleaned up side of house. Buildt fire. Carol & Elaine went to ball game Belle Vernon 18 – TJ – 0. Wrote Bill.

Sat – Washed clothes. Ironed. Stan & Dave worked. Kids cleaned. Cleaned dining room. Went to store. Forgot about barber shop concert. Called Mary.

Sun – Beautiful day. Carol went to Indiana. Took kids to zoo. Elaine cooked supper. Stan & Dave worked on steps. Mrs. Iames & I worked crosswords. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Ironed. Went to Krogers & Bartolattos. Watched TV. Called Mary.

Tue – School. Carol took car. Transplanted silver foliage. Picked apples. Made apple dessert. Stan went to get glasses & visit Pap. Fixed apples for freezer.

1970

Thu – School. Carol took car. Washed & ironed clothes. Picked strawberries. Moved peat moss from under pool. Cut front grass & watered. Went to store (rush). Stan went bowling.

Fri – School. Went to K-Mart & Bank & Acme. Julie & I went to Health-a-Rama. Julie & I visited Dad & Mary. Jim & Marilyn there, too.

Sat – Washed clothes. Went to store. Kids cleaned. Made macaroni salad, gelatin, iced cup cakes. Sara & Flo came with Larry & Kevin for cook out. Stan took kids to Health-a-Rama.

Sun – Slept late. Julie & I went to UU services. Read paper & relaxed. Stopped at Haines. Had picnic supper. Dave & Elaine went to LRY. Drove out to find earring (in car).

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Changed sheets. Ironed. Made open fruit pie. Stan went bowling. Went to Eastland & Zayre. Got men’s jackets & Elaine’s skirt.

Tue – School. Made cantaloupe gelatin Worked outside on dirt (washed down). Made stuffing & beef. Cut front grass & sprinkled. Mended. Carol had car. Stan went in to Pap’s.

Wed – School. Washed clothes in afternoon. Struggled to light water heater. Went to store. Swept & mopped cellar. Stan & I went to see “Ice Capades”.

1971

Fri – School. Lazy . Went to store. Made lasagna. Eleanor came out. Made daisy cookies (Ele.) I made date bar cookies. Watched TV. Kids went to football game.

Sat – Up early. Washed Fr. football outfit. Washed clothes. Kids cleaned. Made meat rolls. Stan cleaned living room. Watched TV/ David home early from work.

Sun – Slept late. Picked tomatoes & apples. Made tomato sauce. Fixed pork & beans & chocolate pie. Bill H. came out. Worked tape recorder. Made cake. Bob H. came out.

Mon – School. Stan went to town. Dave to school. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Went to K-Mart. Got Carol from school.

Tue – School. Called for PTA. Called Eleanor. Dad called. Mrs. Brezek called. Stan & Dave cut grass. Fixed tomatoes & strawberries. Made Russian tea cookies.

Wed – School. Straightened house. Nice day. Worked on front. Planted grass. Fertilized. Eleanor came out with cookies. Gave her apples from tree. Stan watched Frank’s game.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Ironed. Drove Elaine’s uniform to home & went to store. Got baby things out from eaves for Bill H. Called Stella.

1972

Sun – Warm. Read paper. Fixed roast. Dave Conklin stayed for dinner. Made pear topping. Typed up invoices.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Made brownies. Changed sheets. Elaine got ticket. Went to Zayre’s. Stopped at Knudson’s for PTA book cover. Went to Kroger.

Tue – School. Packed J & I lunch. Cleaned bathrooms. Straightened house. Went to shop. Started to wash windows & sweep office. Got Dave at work. Tired. Stan went to shop. Went to store.

Wed – School. Pack J & I lunch. Called on phone. Went to shop. Cleaned more windows. Got Dave from work. Had spaghetti. Washed Frank’s things.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Ironed. Made apple pies. Stuffed Cornish hens. Went to store. Dave had car.

Fri – School. Elaine had 1 class. Dave’s last day of work. Bill went selling. Cleaned living room & kitchen. Washed clothes in eve for Dave. Carol & Jim came. Learned bookkeeping. Andrea stopped in.

Sat – Marion called. Stan went to shop. Fixed pie filling. Elaine took Dave to school. Went to Dr. Seigel. Got Harry’s glasses. Stopped at store. They went back to shop. Got thermo cupple.

1973

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Regina stopped by. Changed sheets. Took Ivan in for glasses. Fixed supper. Mended clothes.

Tue – School. Straightened. Went to McKeesport eye test. Got wheels for bike. Went to store & K-Mart. Made beef & pork stroganoff. Made popcorn & cake. Chopped veg. for galumpkie.

Wed –School. Made stuffed peppers & galumpkie. Picked & canned tomatoes. Took Ivan & Julie to dental clinic. Took food & stuff to Elaine. Went to dairy for milk.

Thu – school. Washed clothes. Cut front grass. Planted grass seed. Went to store. Got Harry from school – sick. Watched Billie Jean King beat Bobby Riggs (tennis). Knitted.

Fri – School. Took Ivan & Harry to dental clinic. Cleaned kitchen & living room. Trimmed hedges. Went to football game TJ – 20 Laurel Highlands 16.

Sat – Washed clothes & upstairs drapes. Washed some upstairs windows & storm windows. Took Stan to hospital (stomach pains). Got prescription.

Sun – Nice day. Stan had stomach ache. Baked cake & roast. Worked around & fertilized blueberries. Picked strawberries. Had Elaine’s car advertised. No one came.
