Fri – School. Man came to see about driveway. Went shopping & paid mortgage. Fixed supper. Bill went to scout camporee. Went to baby shower at church (Mrs. Pease). Bill H. came out.

Sat – Took Carol & Greg to dentist. Went to store. Home. Cleaned house. Supper. Stan picked tomatoes. Kids got baths.

Sun –Didn’t go to SS or church. Went to store. Baked cake. Valerie’s birthday. Carol had party at Colonna’s. Relaxed. Read story “Family Nobody Wanted”. Called Mom.

Mon – School. Bill stayed home – sore throat. Washed clothes. Rain. Went to Laundromat to dry clothes. Canned tomatoes. Took bath to relax.

Tue – School. Went to clinic (derm). Took Ivan & Harry. Washed hair. Ironed clothes. Baked pies. Went to bookmobile & bread store. Bad driving. Rain & fog.

Wed – School. Grandpa came. Trimmed bushes. Cleared for bulldozer. Stan came home early. Not feeling well. Went to store. Went to Grand Opening of White Cross & Thorofare.

Thu – School. Greg stayed home in morning. Stan went to work late. Washed clothes. Ivan burned the floor with the iron. He fell down cellar steps. Folded & ironed clothes.

1965

Sat – Dad came out. Worked half day. Took Harry & Bill to Dentist. Carol & Bill went to ballgame. (Bell Vernon 7 – TJ 6). Stan, Dave & Frank went to JBARA Father & Son banquet. I baked cupcakes.

Sun – Went to SS. Promotion day. Frank got Bible. Stan worked on back door & bathroom tile. Fixed steak, rolls & turnovers. Played piano & watched TV.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Frank & Elaine home sick. Folded & ironed. Bill worked. Took Frank & Elaine to Dr. Wright. Sore throats. Called Mom. John N. & Walter G. in hospital.

Tue – School. Frank & Elaine stayed home. Cleaned living room & dining room. Went to store & bread store. Fixed tomatoes. Took PTA money to Dorothy Bilan.

Wed – School. Frank stayed home. Hot lunch day. Washed hair, washed clothes, folded & ironed. Changed beds. Stella & Bill came out. Got Bill from work. Took bath.

Thu – School. Washed kitchen windows & hung curtains. Went to Eastland & got 2 snow tires for Ford. Had TOPS meeting. Visited Clairton TOPS.

Fri – School. Frank went to school anyway (earache). Lazy day. Read. Went to Barbara Ladley’s for PTA. Went in to Mom’s. Picked Carol & girl friends up after ballgame.

1966

Sun – Didn’t go to SS. Went to store. Stan went to Mom’s to take lawn mower back. Watched TV. Went to funeral home to see Bob Thompson (Bill’s brother). Kids got bath.

Mon – School. Foggy. Washed clothes. Big loads. Called Agnes Watko & May Sterns. Picked corn & tomatoes. Took kids pictures. Stan went bowling. Folded & put away clothes.

Tue – School. Washed hair. Ironed & put away clothes. Canned tomatoes. Fixed custard & roast. Went to car wash (closed). Went to store. Relaxed.

Wed – School. Called Sleep-well to compare prices. Baked pies. Kids had hot lunch. Fixed supper. Went to store. Bought yarn at Grants.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Gas man came to check furnace. Fixed pie shell. Ironed clothes. Mended. Started Elaine’s sweater. Didn’t go to TOPS. Cleaned drawer of records.

Fri – School. Muscles ached. Took it easy. Went to Kroger in evening. Baked cake & made popcorn.

Sat – Stan worked morning. Went to Haines. Carol, Dave, Bill & Ernie went to double header. Pirates lost 5-4 & 2-0. Stan got tires & tune-up. Stan took Gregory to hospital – arm X-ray. Not broken. TJ lost football fame (Elizabeth Forward 13-12).

1967

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Fixed tomatoes. Took Elaine to birthday cookout. Stan went bowling. Carol went shopping. Got Elaine.

Tue – Went to McKeesport. Took David’s clarinet. Stopped at store. Fixed early supper for David & me. Went to Royal Tile & ordered Sandman. Took David to Dr. Siegel to get glasses fixed.

Wed – School. Cleaned out bathroom cupboard and painted it. Repainted kitchen chairs. Stan sold old Ford. Started to rain. Picked up Buick. Took me to K-Mart.

Thu – School. Rain. Washed clothes. Went to Laundromat & store. Kids packed lunches. Drove Buick for first time. Stan went to dinner with Joe Symanski. Went to TOPS (-2 ½) Took bath.

Fri – School. Cleaned out china closet. Washed dishes & put new shelf paper. Elaine baby-sat Mozingo’s. Carol went to game TJ 40- E.For. 6. Kids came here. Had pizza & hot chocolate. Roxie stayed overnight.

Sat – Called about clarinet – not ready. Went to Haines. Carol & Roxey, Dave & friend went to ballgame (Pirates lost 4-3). Cleaned kitchen. Stan worked on bathroom doors. Took kids for ride in Buick.

Sun – Didn’t go to SS. Fixed tomatoes. Read paper. Laid Sandman in dining room. Knitted & watched TV.

1968

Wed – School. Washed clothes. Ironed & mended. Cut out and started Elaine’s summer nightgown. Carol & I went to Eastland. Carol got shoes & purse. I got trousers & sport coat for David.

Thu – School. Julie & went to Acme & Kresge. Fixed lunch & cleaned up. Made pineapple tapioca, coleslaw & swiss steak. Carol went to bridal shower & stayed overnight at Betty’s. Stan went bowling & back to shop.

Fri – School. Picked & canned tomatoes. Bill & Stella stopped out. Baked cookies. Dad came out. Sewed new lining in navy checked coat.

Sat – Stan had to work. Washed clothes. Cleaned kitchen & bedroom. Carol went with Ondich’s to see Janie. Went to store. Stan laid a few block in eve.

Sun – Stan finished up block. Baked cake & rolls. Carol had Betty & Rose here for supper. Fixed chicken, coleslaw, etc. Watched TV. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Worked puzzle. Nice day. Went to W. Newton to see Grace P. store. Stan went bowling. Elaine & I went to get material.

Tue – School. Picked & canned tomatoes. Cut out material. Ironed & mended. Went to PTA. Get acquainted night.

Sept 18 - 24, 1964-1968

1964

Fri – School. Cleaned house. Bad day (emotionally). Started diet. Started raining. Bill H. came out.

Sat – Elaine & David went with Grandpa & Aunt Mary to Ligonier. Carol went to cottage with Jo Ellen Lytle. I went to town. Saw parade. Exchanged shoes & shopped. Eve relaxed. Kids got baths.

Sun – Didn’t go to SS or church. Went to store. Had main meal at lunch time. Relaxed. Carol came home at suppertime. Played cards with kids. Started doily for Christmas.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Worked Crosswords. Straightened up. Folded clothes. Quick supper. Ed Schmidt came by to get his book & say good-bye. Went to store.

Tue – School. Ironed. Mended clothes. Crocheted. Went to bookmobile & bank.

Wed – School. Hot lunch. Dad came out. He worked upstairs laying plywood. Washed clothes. Rained. Re-hung inside. Ironed. Relaxed. Crocheted.

Thu – School. Baked cake. Delivered paper to Mrs. Wolf. Cleaned cellar. Mopped. Good supper. Went shopping. Bought new radio & winter coat for Carol.

1965

Sat – Took Carol & Bill to dentist. Went to Black Angus. Carol went to football game (TJ 27 – E.For. 13). Bill worked. Kids cut grass. Straightened house. Bill H. came out with John Hen. Went to Ramsey’s. Kids got baths.

Sun – Went to SS. Harry & Ivan, too. Taught class. Went in to see Mom. Stopped at Dad’s. Watched TV. Sewed. Stan started tile work.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Took Plymouth to garage. Talked on phone about TOPS. Folded & ironed. Stan went to Carbidie meeting.

Tue – School. Picked tomatoes. Canned sauce. Baked brownies. Swept & mopped cellar. Typed PTA list. Counted money & made out cards for membership.

Wed – School. Washed clothes. Folded & ironed. Worked on PTA. Men worked on walkway at road. Took Carol, Elaine & JoEllen to ballgame They got autographs. Pirates won 6 to Mets 2.

Thu – School. Straightened house. Cut front grass & garden. Went to school for membership drive. Cleaned kitchen and bathroom. Had TOPS meeting then went to Clairton meeting. Big crowd.

Fri – School. Rainy day. Talked on phone about TOPS. Baked pie & cookies. Cleaned bedrooms. Took Plymouth to garage for work on brakes. Went to store for order. Watched TV.

1966

Sun – Took Carol, Harry, Ivan & Julie to SS. Eloise there with her baby. Stopped at Haines. Sewed blouse. Read paper. Watched TV.

Mon – School. Took Ivan & Julie to Eastland. Bought jacket & shirts. Washed clothes. Hung outside. Stan went bowling. Fixed spaghetti. Went to South Hills Village. Exchanged duster.

Tue – School. Rainy day. Washed hair. Bathed Julie. Baked cake. Ironed clothes. Clothes were delivered. Took misfits back to Eastland.

Wed – School. Hot lunch but Frank didn’t stay. Swept & mopped cellar. Sewed blouse. Went to store for groceries.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Rained. Hung inside. Put diapers thru spinner again & hung outside. Went to TOPS. Lost 12 due to Julie.

Fri – School. Ironed clothes. Folded & put away. Mended. Finished blouse. Carol went to Roberta’s. Took Dave & Bill to ballgame. Stayed. Clairton 7 – TJ 6. Stan took Roberta home.

Sat – Elaine cooked Stan’s breakfast & mine. Went to bank, Kresges & Kroger. Home for lunch. Fed Julie. Went to Haines & K-Mart. Ernie & Bill went to work with Stan. Fixed supper but Ernie didn’t eat. Stan called back to work.

1967

Mon – School. Cleaned up kitchen. Put things back to normal. Went to store. Took bath. Stan went bowling.

Tue – School. Washed clothes. Ironed & put away. Changed sheets. Carol went to bookmobile. Picked tomatoes. Gave Julie bath. Carol babysat.

Wed – School. Clean up bathroom. Dad called. Ernie & Malone stopped by. Stan didn’t feel well. Slept. Watched TV.

Thu – School. Straightened up. Got kids ready. Eleanor came out. Went to stores (some closed0. Ordered radio for Dad’s birthday. Got Aunt Lavina’s X-mas present. Went to TOPS(+3). Turned cold.

Fri – School. Washed clothes. Rained. Moved clothes indoors. Made chili & cake. Carol, David & Elaine went to ballgame (TJ 26-Clairton 7). Wrote checks.

Sat – Ironed clothes. Went to South Hills Village. Carol babysat at Watko’s. Went to Southland. Tried to buy Carol a sweater. Picked tomatoes.

Sun – Didn’t go to SS. Mended. Went to store. Stuffed chicken. Went to Grandma’s & Stella’s. Got agitator for washing machine. Frank gave Julie bath.

1968

Wed – School. Washed clothes. Ironed. Wrote letter to Bill and sent pictures. Made out Christmas order. Stan went to Manager’s meeting. Dave & I brought dirt from garden to front. Washed garage windows.

Thu – School. Went down Ramsey’s. Picked apples. Peeled and fixed pies. Made tomato sauce – 2 ½ qts. Stan went bowling. Went to store.

Fri – School. Carol took car. Washed clothes. Cleaned kitchen & bath. Washed kitchen windows. Cleaned living room & bedrooms. Pat Yates came for supper. Visited. Carol & Pat went bowling. Went to Iames’ for Tupperware.

Sat – Stan had to work. Went to bank & store. Made potato salad. Took Dave & Ivan to dentist. Carol took Pat home. Stan took H, G & Fr + Benacks to LL banquet. Frank won ball. Greg won camera. Washed clothes & knitted.

Sun – Hot. Stan chipped out block to add garage to house. Carol helped. David went to ball game (prize day). Bobby H. Stopped out. Had late supper. Mrs. Ondich came up.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Did big ironing. Changed sheets. Busy day. Stan went bowling. Went to Krogers.

Tue – School. Carol took car. Corvair wouldn’t start. Picked tomatoes. Made 5 qts of sauce. Made honey cake. Stan did stripping & stones in front. Dave & I got more dirt from garden. Carol went to ballgame (Pirates 2-0). Wrote Bill.

September 11 - 17, 1964-1986

1964

Fri- School. Ironed clothes. Mended.Cleaned bedrooms. Went to Southland & Boron & got oil change & lubrication for Plymouth. Finished Carol’s shirt.

Sat – John Colonna’s wedding. Cleaned living room & dining room. Broke sweeper hose. Went to Eastland. Exchanged Bill’s & Frank’s trousers. Good supper. Got sweeper fixed.

Sun – Didn’t go to SS or church. Fixed French toast. Made main meal at lunch time. Relaxed. Lovely day. Called L.D. & called Mom. Hurt back.

Mon – school. Washed clothes. Folded, ironed & mended. Stan went out for dinner & meeting (Carbide Eng.) Took Bill to Haines & Shopping center to apply for job.

Tue – School. Sewed my nightgown. Baked a cake. Went to bookmobile & store. Took Harry & Ivan.

Wed – School. Dad came out. Worked on berry bushes. Picked apples at Iames’. Made stuffed cabbage. Stan didn’t go for fertilizer. Went to store. Fixed apples.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Folded & ironed. Baked apple pies.

1965

Sat – Dad came out. Went to bank and store. Kids helped clean house. Fixed roast. Stella & Bill came out. Gave him peppers, cabbage. Kids got baths.

Sun – Rainy day. Went to SS and stayed for church. Went to store. Called Mom. Had episode with Elaine and aspirins. Called L.D.

Mon – School. Sewed Elaine’s shirt. Cut our my dress. Went to Tile City to get tile & Eastland for clothes. Stopped at McKeesport Hospital for glaucoma test but too big a crown.

Tue – School. Washed clothes. Big loads. Ironed & folded. Baked cake. Went to bookmobile, bread store and Kroger.

Wed – School. Picked tomatoes & peaches. Canned tomatoes. Helped kids cut grass. Straightened up. Watched TV.

Thu – Washed clothes. Ironed. Changed beds. Went to school for PTA board meeting. Went to store. Folded & put away clothes. Went to TOPS. Two stayed same, two lost. Just 4.

Fri – School. Mended clothes. Picked tomatoes. Canned tomatoes and fixed peaches. Typed recipes. Watched TV. L.D. called.

1966

Sun – Slept late. Julie, Ivan, Stan & I went to Mom’s. Got Caroline’s lawn mower to fix. Fixed supper. Made fire. Burned mattress. Kids roasted marshmallows. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Folded & ironed. Went to store. Stan didn’t come home for supper – bowling.

Tue – School. Cut out Elaine’s material. Took shower. Went to PP clinic. Had pap test. Stopped for baby gifts. Fixed supper. Baby fussy.

Wed – School. Sewed Elaine’s jumper. Baked cookies, cake & rolls. Did dishes & fixed supper. Got Carol from hair cut. Sewed & watched TV. Took Bill & E shopping for gym shoes.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Looked like rain. Changed sheets. Iced cake. Got Bill from school & took him to McKeesport. Fixed supper. Didn’t go to TOPS. Stan went bowling. Watched “Music Man”.

Fri – School. Ironed clothes. Finished Elaine’s blouse & jumper. Stan & I went to store. Got material. Watched 2^nd half of “Music Man”.

Sat – Slept late. Washed clothes. Took Carol to football game (TJ 26-Brashere 7) Dad came out. Brought mail. Cut out dress & blouse. Ivan fell & hurt head Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Drove Bill to airport. Stopped at k-Mart. Home late. Stan went bowling. Canned tomatoes. Knitted.

Tue – School. Stan home sick. Washed clothes. Baked cookies. Folded & put away clothes. Went to Sears & Bookmobile & then K-Mart. Cut Stan’s hair.

Wed – School. Ironed. Mended. Mr. Shuback fixed TV. Stan home early. Cleaned up. Gave Julie bath. Pat Perri & children came out. Busy house.

Thu – School. Stan home sick. Baked cup cakes. Went to Mary Carter paint store & Gimbels. Went to TOPS – turtled. Got gas.

Fri – School. Washed clothes. Ironed, mended & put away. Went to store. Stan & kids picked apples. Dave cut grass. Canned tomatoes.

Sat – Kids cleaned. Stan worked on bathroom tiles. Scrubbed kitchen. Stan moved refrigerator. Elaine & Dave painted kitchen furniture. I painted ceiling. Went to band concert at TJ. Took Elaine & Norine. Boys walked up.

Sun – Didn’t go to SS. Stan worked on tiles. I painted kitchen & Carol washed clothes. House torn up. Went to store. Made hamburgers & ice cream cones. Called Mom. Kids got baths.

1968

Wed – Washed clothes. School. Rain. Changed Ivan & Frank’s bed. Ironed clothes. Went to Thorofare & K-Mart.

Thu – School. Washed clothes again. Sewed Carol’s nightgown. Changed sheets (my room). New furniture was delivered (432.40 for 2 couches, chair, table) Got lamp for stamp books. Stan went bowling.

Fri – School. Shoveled dirt from around house. Baked cake & cleaned kitchen. Sand & gravel were delivered. Carol got new dresses from lay away. Elaine went to football game TJ 13 – Brownsville 6.

Sat – Washed clothes. Swept cellar. Stan home early so laid brick Went to store. Went to Versharens to look at evergreens.

Sun – Foggy. Stan worked on garage. Went to Stella’s to get plants. Planted front flowers. Boys cut grass. Kids got baths. Carol went to see Sue Hatfield’s dad (funeral home).

Mon – School. Stan banged into garbage cans. Washed clothes. Ironed. Changed sheets. Swept cellar. Stan went bowling. Went to store. Got new garbage can & athletic support.

Tue – School. Picked tomatoes. Baked cookies & cake. Cleaned kitchen. Cleaned off plants. Living room rug & sewing machine were delivered. Took shower. Dad & Mary came out. Showed movies.

September 4 - 10, 1964-1968

1964

Fri – Slept late. Stan’s vacation. Ironed clothes. Played cards. Relaxed. Went to bread store & Haines. Kids all played football. Carol & Valerie made popcorn for everyone.

Sat – Gave all the boys haircuts & washings. Took youngsters to Kennywood. Home. Light supper then baths.

Sun – Went to church. Fixed lunch. Dad came out to take movies. Carol was mad. Fixed roast & baked cake. Picked tomatoes & watered trees. Stan sprayed trees & went in to see Mom.

Mon – Labor day. Bad mood. Washed clothes. Picked peaches. Stan calked windows. Folded clothes. Ironed. Fixed tomatoes. Children polished shoes & got baths for school.

Tue – First day of school. Took Ivan & Harry to Dr. with me. Made cookies & pies. Canned tomatoes. No check. Stan worked on sidewalk surfboard. Took pictures of children. Cleaned refrigerator.

Wed – School. Cleaned kitchen & bath. Washed kitchen, windows. Washed hair. Went to Haines for order. Sewed Carol’s skirt.

Thu – School. Dad came out. Laid floor upstairs. Washed clothes. Went to PTA meeting at school. Went to Southland. Bought socks, under shorts & groceries.

1965

Sat – Dad came out. Helped Stan paint house. Stan fixed roof. I washed clothes. Dad stayed for supper. Went to Tile City to order tile for bathroom. Dad showed movies.

Sun – Slept late. Bad cold. Relaxed. Read paper. Gave boys haircuts & washed heads. Went to bed early. Stan got Bill and went night bowling.

Mon – Labor day. Slept late. Relaxed. Baked cookies. Took ladders back to Walt. Stopped at Dad’s. Then went to see Mom. Kids polished shoes & got baths. They were very dirty.

Tue – First day of school. Washed clothes. Folded clothes. Took pictures. Went to store & bank. Ironed clothes. Went to Barney’s. Took bath.

Wed – School. Called about tile. Swept & mopped cellar. Picked peaches. Sliced peaches for supper. Made meatloaf. Went to store. Bill’s day off.

Mon – Labor day. Washed clothes. Stan took C,D,F & E & Suzy M. to double header with Braves. Won 13-5, lost 7-5. Made potato salad & cake. Ironed clothes. Watched TV.

Tue – Took old Ford to get inspected. Took Carol, D & E & Julie to get glasses. Took Harry & Ivan to store. Stan got bowling ball & went bowling. Kids got baths & polished shoes.

Wed – First day school. Made galumpkies. Straightened house. Picked tomatoes & canned. Washed hair. Cut Carol’s hair. Stan & I went to Haines. Lady stranded with flat tire. Stan helped her.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Bathed Julie. Dad came out to visit. New beds came. Stan, Elaine & I put up and fixed new beds. Disappointed – too soft. Stan went bowling.

Fri – School. Cleaned out refrigerator. Cleaned kitchen & bathroom. Supper. Went to bank. Took Carol to Kondrats for football game. Got order at Haines.

Sat – Washed clothes. Got plywood for beds. Went shopping with Elaine. Got shoes. Stan went to Oakmont. Went shopping again with C & D. Ironed. Watched “Miss America”. Stan disliked, went bowling.

Mon – Washed big wash. Went to K-Mart. Had Bob Malone & Bill for supper. Went to Ondich’s & got apples. Fixed & canned tomatoes. Carol went to Suzy’s.

Tue – Ironed clothes. Elaine mended Went shopping. Got Carol’s material. Made pies. Cut out Carol’s shirt & dress.

Wed – First day of school. Took pictures. Canned tomatoes. Made galumpkies. Eleanor called. Dad came out. Sewed Carol’s shirt. Bob H. & friend came out. Buttons & Sandy were here. Stan played golf.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Changed sheets. Finished Carol’s shirt. Went to store. Went to TOPS (-2). Was hostess for queen’s night. Stan laid tile.

Fri – School. Ironed clothes. Thoroughly cleaned upstairs bathroom. Scraped tiles. Went to bank & store. Carol went to ballgame (TJ 9 – Baldwin 6)

Sat – Took Ivan & Dave to dentist. Kids cleaned. Washed clothes & ironed. Carol & I went to Eastland.
