Sept 18 - 24, 1964-1968

1964

Fri – School. Cleaned house. Bad day (emotionally). Started diet. Started raining. Bill H. came out.

Sat – Elaine & David went with Grandpa & Aunt Mary to Ligonier. Carol went to cottage with Jo Ellen Lytle. I went to town. Saw parade. Exchanged shoes & shopped. Eve relaxed. Kids got baths.

Sun – Didn’t go to SS or church. Went to store. Had main meal at lunch time. Relaxed. Carol came home at suppertime. Played cards with kids. Started doily for Christmas.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Worked Crosswords. Straightened up. Folded clothes. Quick supper. Ed Schmidt came by to get his book & say good-bye. Went to store.

Tue – School. Ironed. Mended clothes. Crocheted. Went to bookmobile & bank.

Wed – School. Hot lunch. Dad came out. He worked upstairs laying plywood. Washed clothes. Rained. Re-hung inside. Ironed. Relaxed. Crocheted.

Thu – School. Baked cake. Delivered paper to Mrs. Wolf. Cleaned cellar. Mopped. Good supper. Went shopping. Bought new radio & winter coat for Carol.

1965

Sat – Took Carol & Bill to dentist. Went to Black Angus. Carol went to football game (TJ 27 – E.For. 13). Bill worked. Kids cut grass. Straightened house. Bill H. came out with John Hen. Went to Ramsey’s. Kids got baths.

Sun – Went to SS. Harry & Ivan, too. Taught class. Went in to see Mom. Stopped at Dad’s. Watched TV. Sewed. Stan started tile work.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Took Plymouth to garage. Talked on phone about TOPS. Folded & ironed. Stan went to Carbidie meeting.

Tue – School. Picked tomatoes. Canned sauce. Baked brownies. Swept & mopped cellar. Typed PTA list. Counted money & made out cards for membership.

Wed – School. Washed clothes. Folded & ironed. Worked on PTA. Men worked on walkway at road. Took Carol, Elaine & JoEllen to ballgame They got autographs. Pirates won 6 to Mets 2.

Thu – School. Straightened house. Cut front grass & garden. Went to school for membership drive. Cleaned kitchen and bathroom. Had TOPS meeting then went to Clairton meeting. Big crowd.

Fri – School. Rainy day. Talked on phone about TOPS. Baked pie & cookies. Cleaned bedrooms. Took Plymouth to garage for work on brakes. Went to store for order. Watched TV.

1966

Sun – Took Carol, Harry, Ivan & Julie to SS. Eloise there with her baby. Stopped at Haines. Sewed blouse. Read paper. Watched TV.

Mon – School. Took Ivan & Julie to Eastland. Bought jacket & shirts. Washed clothes. Hung outside. Stan went bowling. Fixed spaghetti. Went to South Hills Village. Exchanged duster.

Tue – School. Rainy day. Washed hair. Bathed Julie. Baked cake. Ironed clothes. Clothes were delivered. Took misfits back to Eastland.

Wed – School. Hot lunch but Frank didn’t stay. Swept & mopped cellar. Sewed blouse. Went to store for groceries.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Rained. Hung inside. Put diapers thru spinner again & hung outside. Went to TOPS. Lost 12 due to Julie.

Fri – School. Ironed clothes. Folded & put away. Mended. Finished blouse. Carol went to Roberta’s. Took Dave & Bill to ballgame. Stayed. Clairton 7 – TJ 6. Stan took Roberta home.

Sat – Elaine cooked Stan’s breakfast & mine. Went to bank, Kresges & Kroger. Home for lunch. Fed Julie. Went to Haines & K-Mart. Ernie & Bill went to work with Stan. Fixed supper but Ernie didn’t eat. Stan called back to work.

1967

Mon – School. Cleaned up kitchen. Put things back to normal. Went to store. Took bath. Stan went bowling.

Tue – School. Washed clothes. Ironed & put away. Changed sheets. Carol went to bookmobile. Picked tomatoes. Gave Julie bath. Carol babysat.

Wed – School. Clean up bathroom. Dad called. Ernie & Malone stopped by. Stan didn’t feel well. Slept. Watched TV.

Thu – School. Straightened up. Got kids ready. Eleanor came out. Went to stores (some closed0. Ordered radio for Dad’s birthday. Got Aunt Lavina’s X-mas present. Went to TOPS(+3). Turned cold.

Fri – School. Washed clothes. Rained. Moved clothes indoors. Made chili & cake. Carol, David & Elaine went to ballgame (TJ 26-Clairton 7). Wrote checks.

Sat – Ironed clothes. Went to South Hills Village. Carol babysat at Watko’s. Went to Southland. Tried to buy Carol a sweater. Picked tomatoes.

Sun – Didn’t go to SS. Mended. Went to store. Stuffed chicken. Went to Grandma’s & Stella’s. Got agitator for washing machine. Frank gave Julie bath.

1968

Wed – School. Washed clothes. Ironed. Wrote letter to Bill and sent pictures. Made out Christmas order. Stan went to Manager’s meeting. Dave & I brought dirt from garden to front. Washed garage windows.

Thu – School. Went down Ramsey’s. Picked apples. Peeled and fixed pies. Made tomato sauce – 2 ½ qts. Stan went bowling. Went to store.

Fri – School. Carol took car. Washed clothes. Cleaned kitchen & bath. Washed kitchen windows. Cleaned living room & bedrooms. Pat Yates came for supper. Visited. Carol & Pat went bowling. Went to Iames’ for Tupperware.

Sat – Stan had to work. Went to bank & store. Made potato salad. Took Dave & Ivan to dentist. Carol took Pat home. Stan took H, G & Fr + Benacks to LL banquet. Frank won ball. Greg won camera. Washed clothes & knitted.

Sun – Hot. Stan chipped out block to add garage to house. Carol helped. David went to ball game (prize day). Bobby H. Stopped out. Had late supper. Mrs. Ondich came up.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Did big ironing. Changed sheets. Busy day. Stan went bowling. Went to Krogers.

Tue – School. Carol took car. Corvair wouldn’t start. Picked tomatoes. Made 5 qts of sauce. Made honey cake. Stan did stripping & stones in front. Dave & I got more dirt from garden. Carol went to ballgame (Pirates 2-0). Wrote Bill.
