Wed- School. Stan didn’t go to work. Went to store. Made custard & galumpkies. Stan & Dave picked up car. Made sash & hat for Greg. Stan worked on peg leg.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Folded & ironed. Dad called. Got kids ready for parade at Southland. Greg disappointed, didn’t win. Home & relaxed. Stan bowled.

Fri – School. Went to Bank & store. Made rolls. Went to school for Halloween party. Kids went around trick or treat. Took Julie. Bill called. Had 63 kids. TJ 43 – Brownsville 14.

Sat – Washed clothes. Went to store. Kids cleaned. Dad brought out Verna & Catherine Leake. Wendy came by. Stayed for supper. Elaine made doughnuts.

Sun – Slept late. Drizzle rain. Stan & I got Buick. Dave went to Carnegie Library. Listened to Steelers’s football. TJ band played at half time. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Ironed & folded. Changed sheets. Met Carol at Sears. Dad called. Stan & I made root beer.

Tue – School. Made pies (pumpkin). Went to school to vote. Started Elaine’s blouse. Called about PTA. Greg walked home. Got sick. Went to store. Frank fixed banana seat on Harry’s bike.

1970

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Baked lemon pie. Made taffy. Went to PTA at Valley. Open House. Got bake sale things.

Fri – Went to bank & store. Rain. Kids had H. parade at school & party. Harry & I went to K-Mart & Clabers.

Sat – Kids cleaned house. Washed clothes. Went to store. Elaine went to Andrea’s. Took Ivan & Julie – (Dutch girl & boy). Had 49 kids. Wet ground but rain stopped. Cut pineapple.

Sun – Tired. Stan went to UU to hear Henry Pierce. Read paper. Knitted. Bill worked & had flat tire. Called Stella.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Changed sheets. Went to store. Stan went to Dr. Cohen. Getting ready for PTA. Didn’t go. Bill H. came out.

Tue – School. Bill home. Made pumpkin pies. Straightened house. Drove Elaine to play practice. Went to Clabers.

Wed – School. Packed lunches (Harry had field trip Old Economy). Sewed apron. Eleanor came out. Had Plymouth at garage – new water pump$30.64. Knitted. Bob H. stopped out.

1971

Fri – School. Mended & straightened. Baked cake. Went to Valley for Hallo. Party (4^th grade room mother). Stan & I went to football game. TJ 51 – Monessen 16. Combined bands & fireworks.

Sat – Kids cleaned. Elaine went to town. Went to store. Carol stopped over. Brought cushions & material. Washed & ironed. Kids went trick or treat. Had 59 kids.

Sun – Turn back clocks. Read paper. Elaine babysat. Bill & Dave worked. Stan helped Marion & Don move. Watched TV. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Washed & swept cellar. Made apple pies. Stan went to Clairton & store. Stan went bowling. Went to Ondich’s.

Tue – School. Cut out material for Carol’s cushions. Machine wouldn’t sew right. Went to store. Typed Dave’s school paper.

Wed – School. Went with Stan for sign up & on to Eastland. Made banana cream pie & hamburgers. Worked on entries for Robin Hood contest.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Folded & ironed. Mary Narvin called.

1972

Sun – Changed time (ES). Baked cake. Read paper. Planted tulips & hyacinths. Stan & Bill & Bill H. worked at shop. Mad meat loaf supper.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Stan went to Dr. (Eye worse) Cut front grass. Gathered leaves. Got Elaine’s car & truck inspected.

Tue – School. Stan home. Straightened house. Made rolls. Went to school. Kids’ party. Brought home x-tra orange drink. Stan, Bill, Frank went to shop. Trick or Treat – 61 kids.

Wed – School. Cleaned up. Washed clothes. Stan went to Clairton. Mailed old encyl (got new ones). Got check cashed. Rain. Worked on invoices.

Thu – School. Rain. Mailed invoices. Went to store. Rain. Stan washed windows & storm windows. He & Frank made pick-up. Guys went to shop. Worked on contests.

Fri – School. Typed letters & envelopes. Worked contests. Went to store. Stan went to Dr. Bill H. came. Guys worked on rig for doing J & L blade. Elaine went to Ann’s. Ann stayed overnight.

Sat – Guys went to shop. Put clothes on to wash. Took Frank for drivers test (failed). Elaine got hooked on candy (Youth Opportunity). Elaine worked. Bill H. for supper. Went back to shop.

Mon – School. Swept & mopped cellar. Bill took truck for inspection (wouldn’t pass) Made apple dessert. Took Ivan & Julie to Pleasant Hills parade. Julie – witch, Ivan – convict.

Tue – School. Rain & wind. Went to store. Made borsch, ham salad & brownies. Bill got hoagies. Went to K-Mart.

Wed – School. Cleaned house. Carved pumpkin. Phyllis Armstrong stopped. Called Elaine. Kids got ready. Rain. Stapled on plastic. Had 42 trick or treaters. Cut up & cooked pumpkin. Called Stella.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Washed Julie’s drapes & windows. Put storm windows. Took Julie to dentist. Stan worked on invoices. Bill H. & our Carol came out. Looked over catalogue. Called KQV. Eligible.

Fri – School. Washed clothes. Washed windows in living room. Put up storm windows. Water off. Went to football game. Julie & Greg, too. Monessen 40 – TJ 14. Crowd. Left early. Walked in rain.

Sat – Went to store & bank. Washed clothes. Carol & Jim stopped. Kris G. stayed for supper. Visited Iames’. Dan Erico came. Talked. Frank slept at Kris. Stan worked on front window.

Wed- School. Went to Plotkin & Haines. Cleaned kitchen. Picked Carol up at Southland. Got tea bags. Made pies. Apple & pecan. Sewed Carol’s jumper & Elaine’s.

Thu – School. Took Carol coat to cleaner. Went to K-Mart. Washed clothes. Changed sheets. Took Greg to dentist. Stan went bowling. Went to Acme.

Fri – School. Washed hair. Ironed clothes. Sorted magazines. Straightened. Finished Elaine’s jumper. Carol had date. Listened to ballgame TJ 12 – Charleroi 8.

Sat – David took PSAT test. Drove E to Clairton library. Went to store. Washed clothes & ironed. Went to Haines & McDonalds. Dave applied for work – White Cross & McDonalds. Carol had date.

Sun – Read paper. Fixed lunch. Took Elaine & friends to Carnegie library. No place to park. Took Ivan & Julie to Hatfield’s supper. Stan visited Pap. Got baths.

Mon – School. Stan left car to get body work. Washed clothes. Folded & ironed. Picked Stan up. Went to Cub Scout meeting. Took Julie.

Tue – School. Carol took car. Drove Stan to St. St. Stan hitch-hiked. Swept & mopped cellar. Cut out Elaine’s dress. Worked on Halloween costume for Frank. Wendy called. Bill called her.

1970

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Ironed. Dad called. Stan home early. Stan went bowling. Dave & I drove out to get him.

Fri – School. Baked tarts. Finished sewing costumes. Took Stan to Dr. Shopped. Got new prescription. Went to store. Knitted. Washed 1 load.

Sat – Washed clothes. Cleaned kitchen. Elaine took PSAT. Andrea stopped for lunch. Dave finished digging on side of house. Took boys to get shoes. Frank went to party.

Sun – Didn’t go to church. Made cake. Went to Dad & Mary’s. Dave back filled. Gave boys hair cuts. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Burned rubbish. Changed sheets. Went to H. School PTA with Norma Lindahl. Dave took kids to cub scouts.

Tue – School. Bill went to High School. Washed draperies & bedroom windows. Bill took me to the store. Bill cooked supper (fish). Relaxed. Stan worked on Dutch shoes.

Wed – School. Baked pies. Washed living room drapes & windows. Washed chandeliers. Took Elaine to Gladys’. Took Ivan & Julie to P. Hills parade. Julie won dolls.

1971

Fri – School. Washed hair early. Baked cake. Made chili. Went to funeral home for Bob Steele. Stan & I went to football game TJ 22- So. All. 0. Carol stopped. Jane Ondich accident.

Sat – Washed clothes. Ironed. Stan cleaned living room. Went to store. Stan, Ivan, Julie & I went out to Carol’s. Elaine went with Youth to farm (she drove).

Sun – Rain in morn. Read paper. Worked crosswords. Made stuffed round steak & cole slaw. Stan had to get car. Elaine had bad blow out.

Mon – No school. Washed clothes. Washed bedroom windows & storm windows. Kids got baths.

Tue – School. Straightened house. Made apple dessert. Stan & I went to High School for Open House.

Wed – School. Made apple dessert & apple squares for school. Washed clothes. Got donuts for PTA Open house. Cleaned up & served.

Thu – School. Washed clothes & drapes. Went to store. Washed front windows & put up storm windows. Called for treats at party tomorrow. Dave worked. Bobby H. came out.

1972

Sun – Worked puzzles. Made French toast. Read paper & crocheted. Stan & Bill worked on truck .

Mon – No school. (Vets day). Washed clothes. Stan home with iritis. Couldn’t get Dr. Mixed dough for rolls & cookies.

Tue – School. Baked. Stan went to Dr. Tanning. Got medicine. We swept & mopped. Washed clothes. Went to PTA open house. Nice bake sale.

Wed – School. Stan home again. Cleaned. Cut out dress. Stan picked up cutting bars from J. & L. Bill H. & Bryon came out to work on Elaine’s car. Went to store.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Ironed. Sewed dress. Stan made calls & took eye medicine. Played cards.

Fri – School. Stan typed envelopes to send out business letters. Cleaned living room. Went to store & bank. Frank had game. Monesson 30 – TJ 0. Listened on radio. Played cards. Elaine went to Titusville.

Sat – Men worked at shop. Washed clothes. Made pierogi & kapusta. Cleaned up. Watched “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World”

1973

Mon – No school. Nice day. Ivan cut front. Kids started on back. Put up Christmas lights. Stan took my car. Datsun wouldn’t start. Watched “Pocketful of Miracles” on TV.

Tue – School. Washed 1 load. Cleaned living room. Made bread. Took Greg to dental clinic. Gave Elaine stuffed peppers. Went to Valley. Bought baked goods. Wrote brother Bill.

Wed – School. Very bad fog. Bus didn’t come until 10 minutes to 11:00. Went to store. Went to Clairton for milk (none). Took Julie to dentist. Brought Elaine home. Stan went to Open House HS. Bill took El. back.

Thu – School. Washed clothes & bedroom drapes. Washed my bedroom windows & storm windows. Planted tulips. Carol & Jim came. Went to football Mother card party.

Fri – School. Ivan home sick (he says). Made cream puffs. Rested. Made bread & chili. Bill got new windshield for truck. Went to K-Mart & Murphy Mart. Got stuck (wouldn’t start).

Sat –Slept late. Stan went to bank. Washed clothes. Stan & I drove down to game. TJ 32 – Brownsville 12. Fixed chicken. Watched John Wayne movie. Crocheted.

Sun – Rain. Went to store. Read paper. Watched TV. Had steak dinner. Called Mary (back from LA). Julie went to Kim’s party. Stan typed. Kids got baths.

October 15 - 21, 1969-1973

Wed-School. Washed clothes. Ironed. Hung new drapes in bedroom. Changed sheets. Iced cake. Stan went to Sears. Got tires & drill. Made rolls.

Thu – No school. Teacher’s institute. Went to A&P. Sewed E’s jumper. Watched World Series – Mets won 4^th. Stan went bowling. Went to Acme & K-Mart. Got oil change for Ply & Buick filter.

Fri – No school. Went to bank & Clabers. Took kids to Fort Ligonier & Round Hill farm. Nice ride. E stayed home. Carol & E went to South Hills Village. Dave drove Mrs. Iames. Frank went to game TJ 22 – Mon 8. Went to Acme.

Sat – Stan worked. Drove Dave up for test. Wrong day so went to work. Washed clothes. Went to store.

Sun – Stan worked on steps Planted tulips & hyacinths. Cut front grass. Kids got baths & watched TV.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Changed sheets & mattress covers on boys beds. Carol worked late. Went to store. Bill H. came out.

Tue – School. Carol took car. Elaine called from school. Mr. Iames drove me up with dress. Grandpa came out. Took Elaine to Bookmobile.

1970

Thu – School. Carol had car. Washed clothes. Rain. Changed sheets. Started Julie’s sweater. Made apple pizza. Stan went bowling.

Fri – School. Wrote bills. Went to store. Again in afternoon. Made pizza & cream of pot. Soup. Stan home early (iritis). Played bingo.

Sat – Stan sick with iritis. Washed clothes. Went to store. Baked pies (fireman’s bake sale). Played bingo (nothing). Kids showed movies (Budday – Biland). Sent in snow coupons. Frank went to Pitt game.

Sun – Stan still sick. Went to UUSS. Kids dressed as Indians. Stopped at store. Uncle Bill H. stopped out. Planted cedar trees. Kids cut grass. Had steak. Went to Bake sale.

Mon – School. Stan didn’t go to work. Dave took Stan to Dr. Washed clothes & ironed. Changed sheets. Knitted. Watched TV. Rested.

Tue – School. Bill & Dad home. Bill fixed toaster. Dug dirt on side & Took Dad to Dr. Washed upstairs drapes & windows. Put up storm windows. Went to store.

Wed – School. Rain. Sewed Halloween costumes (Dutch girl & boy). Tired. Lay down in evening.

1971

Fri – School. Carol home. Went to apartment. Took Elaine to Dr. Siegel. Had rehearsal. Stan took Julie. Bill too stereo equipment. I made cookies & cleaned.

Sat – Up early. Washed clothes. Carol & Jim got pop. Showered & got ready. Went to Hall for Caterer. At church, got pictures taken. Carol’s wedding. All went well.

Sun – Up early. Wrote thank you notes. Mrs. O & Jane came up. Carol & Jim came. Opened presents. Divided food. Kids got baths. Watched TV. Julie slept upstairs.

Mon – School. Up early. Tired. Washed clothes. Ironed. Cleaned up house. Getting back to normal.

Tue – School. Washed clothes & drapes. Washed upstairs windows & storm windows. Stan helped. Went to store.

Wed – School. Stan signed up. Washed kitchen & dining room. Put up storm windows. Stan & Bill went to see about Jag.

Tue – School. Called on phone (PTA). Went to shop. Swept. Had brakes fixed on Chrysler. Stan & Frank & Bill worked at shop.

Wed – School. Called for PTA. First snow flurries. Worked on business accounts. Sorted mail. Stan & Bill went to shop. Went to store.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Folded & ironed. Went to bank. Worked on football contests.

Fri – School. Stan home. (Test not scheduled.) Cleaned living room & kitchen. Stan went canvassing. Dad called. Played bridge with kids.

Sat – Washed clothes. Stan went to hospital for sugar tolerance test. Went to M. Giorbiano bake sale. Had late lunch. Bill H. came out. Carol stopped. Went in to get Dad. Dave & Dad went to McGovern rally. Dave stayed over night.

Tue – School. Frank home (cold). Took Ivan to dental clinic. Stopped at Murphy Mart. Iames came home (worried about them). Finished Julie’s sweater.

Wed – School. Worked on mail. Washed 1 load. Straightened. Started Elaine’s afghan. Cut out & sewed Julie’s witch costume. Went to store. Dan Erico here. Stella & Bill stopped out.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Took car to Bahanna (leaking cylinder). Went to store. Trouble starting. Bill & Stella came out. Bill had new wagon. Went for short ride.

Fri – School. Finished Ivan’s costume. Eleanor called. Uncle Ray died. Called Ray’s Marion. Went o ball game TJ 28 – Clairton 18. Dave called. Went to Elaine’s to get him.

Sat – Washed clothes. Took Dave to bank & went to store. Harry worked. Made stuffed peppers. Dave took car. Went to McKeesport dorm. I went to bed early.

Sun – Made French toast. Julie & I drove Dave to Rt. 22. Nice day. Picked strawberries & tomatoes. Crocheted. Cut Dave & Stan’s hair. Washed Ivan & Julie.

October 8 - 16, 1969-1973

Wed- School. Painted walls, wiped up woodwork. Took Frank to Southland. Went to Krogers. Carol had late date. Straightened house.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Picked strawberries. Made fresh apple sauce. Put up new drapes. Stan went bowling. Frank had field trip.

Fri – School. Went to Krogers & Bartolottas. Thought I lost $50.00. Home late. Kids started lunch. Cleaned up. Stan went to bank. Elaine & Frank went to football game (TJ 30 – South All 27)

Sat – Stan & Dave worked. Washed clothes. Drove Elaine to H.S. (Forensics). Went to store. Stan & I went to Gimbels to see about tires (no go). Saw “I, a Woman” and “Carmen Baby” at show. Ugh!

Sun – Slept late. Humid. Stan worked outside on steps. Read paper. Watch “Thomasina” on TV. Gave Frank haircut & washing. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Warm day. Washed clothes. Ironed. Cleaned kitchen. Gave boys haircuts & washed heads. Stan went to Carbide Eng. Carol worked late. Bill H. came out.

Tue – School. Mrs. Ondich called. Wrote Bill. Picked strawberries. Mrs. Houser called. Made straw. & pudding dessert. Carol had car.

1970

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Made apple cake. Ironed. Stan went bowling. Went to school scout meeting. Empty. Crocheted. Dave drove Andrea home.

Fri – School. Went to store & Clabers. Did makings of galumpkies (41 of them). Bill & Wendy came for supper. Greg, Stan & I went to TJ ballgame. Nice night. TJ 22 – EF 14.

Sat – Rain. Washed clothes. Ironed. Cleaned kitchen. Stan worked on paper box. Wendy’s folks had home coming party for Bill. Dave went to library & then party.

Sun – Went to Haines. Dave picked apples. Made pies. Bill & Wendy stopped over. Stan rolled off (bowling). Kids got baths. Watched “Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines” on TV.

Mon – School. Folded & ironed. Bill’s first day work. Fixed steak. Stan went to Carbide Engineers. Carol had car. Called Gertrude Decker’s Mother. Fixed apples to freeze.

Tue – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Bill worked on side of house. Made baked Alaska. Went to store. Took shower. Washed hair.

Wed – School. Cut out Julie’s Dutch girl costume. Sewed. Made cheese cake & straightened house. Went to Sears. Got yarn.

1971

Fri – School. Cleaned kitchen. First frost. Made Shells in cheese and sauce. Didn’t go to ball game – sold out. Frank went. Andrea fixed Elaine’s hair.

Sat – Washed hair. Washed clothes. Carol took stereo, etc. to apartment. Jim here for lunch. Kids cleaned. Elaine went to Andrea’s. Sewed dress.

Sun – Cleaned bathroom. Went to store. Had surprise Shower for Carol. All went well. Turned furnace on. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & Stan mopped. Ironed. Ivan had 1^st music lesson. Stan went bowling. Went to Horne’s Got Carol from school.

Tue – School. Made egg custard. Went to Sears & Bartolottas. Worked on veiling Sara & Flo came with iron & ironing board for Carol. Carol got stuck with Firebird.

Wed – School. Stan took Dave to school. Worked on stone. Made cream puffs. Finished veiling. Mower wouldn’t start. Got Carol at school. Stan had car checked.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Folded & ironed. Stan worked on mower. Went shopping with Carol. Tired.

1972

Sun – Marion called. Ran sweeper & straightened. Got Bill & Alice. Had rib roast & apple pie. Good. Went to Dad’s. Saw Bill’s slides. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Changed sheets. Stan went Carbide Engineers. Went to store. Tried to get someone for bridge.

Tue – First frost. Straightened house. Went to shop. Denny worked on car. Got it inspected. Locked out of office. Swept shop. Tired. Read paper. Elaine fixed spaghetti sauce.

Wed – School. Harry missed bus. Drove him. Baked cake. Made bed. Had PTA board meeting. Got kleenex & frame for PTA. Went to shop. AM. Bridge didn’t come. Ordered invoices. Bruce H. stopped out. Went to store.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Called PTA. Bill went to Pitron & Irwin Works. Went to Football Mothers card party. Merry Jo , Sue Spicer, Dorothy Iames & me.

Fri – School. Mended & straightened. Took Harry’s mouthpiece & went to store. Bill went with Stan. Made meat loaf. Went to football game. Very exciting. Scored in last 6 min. TJ 19 – EF 6

Wed – School. Harry still sick. Stan home, too. Straightened house. Sewed top for slacks. Went to dental clinic with Julie. Got Elaine. Had supper. She washed clothes & went to store. Drove her back.

Thu – School. Stan’s 1^st day back. Harry still home. Washed clothes. Took Elaine’s car to get starter fixed. Went to store. Went to Meri Mac Party at Marion Zarichansky’s. Home late.

Fri – School. Stan home sick. Took Greg to dental clinic & went on to town. Went to bank & store. Tried to get ball game. Bill went. TJ 29 – South Alleg. 6.
