Wed- School. Washed clothes early. Repairman came about washer. Sewed my dress. Went to Sears to exchange yarn. Watched TV.

Thu – School. Went to store. Cut out new dress. Sewed. Stan went bowling. Eleanor called.

Fri – School. Frank home sick. Went to K-Mart & A&P. Took Julie & picked up Greg. Elaine & David went to eye Dr. for new glasses. Harry & Greg went to Flip’s party. Stan & I saw “The Producers”.

Sat – Stan got new bowling shoes & visited Pap. Carol got hair cut. Went to bank & store. Washed & ironed. Carol & I went to Eastland.

Sun – Nice day. Build fire in garage. Stan put on tar, paint & plastic. Went to Haines. Baked cake & roast. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Harry home sick. Washed clothes. Man came about storm doors from Horne’s. Straightened house. Carol’s first night school. Home late.

Tue – School. Harry home again. Very cold. Took shower. Sewed my dress. Cut out E’s skirt & Carol’s suit. Went to store and then got Carol from school.

1970

Thu – School. Greg home sick. Ironed. Mended clothes. Cut out dress. Made rolls. Stan went bowling. Went to Acme. Called Stella.

Fri – School. Went to bank & store. Put things away & read. Went to Bartolatto’s. Took shower.

Sat – Slept late. Washed clothes & hair. Stan fixed radio & drapery rod. Carol & Elaine met Greg’s music group. Cut Stan’s hair. Our Greg sick.

Sun – Relaxed Read paper.

Mon – School. Greg home sick. Washed clothes. Changed sheets. Ironed. Went to store in evening.

Tue – School. Dave & Greg home. Baked cake. Felt lousy. Cold & snow. Drove Carol to catch bus. Rested.

Wed – School. Greg & Harry home sick with flu. Didn’t get dressed until 2:00. Elaine helped with supper. Rested. Bill H. & boys stopped out.

1971

Fri – School. Car wouldn’t start. Baked cup cakes. Cleaned kitchen. Mr. Shuback brought radio for stereo. Went to Jones’ for U.U. meeting.

Sat – Started car with jumpers. Went to store. Stan went to Oberg-Carbidie bowling. Washed clothes.

Sun – Slept late. Finished afghan. Read paper. Stan rolled aff(?). Visited Mrs. Iames. Kids played cards. Started Dave’s sweater. Stan visited Pap.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Changed sheets. Called Dad. Stan went to Carbidie meeting & dinner. Went to Squilla’s for SS planning meeting.

Tue – School. Bill drove Carol. Overheated. Had to be towed. Bill took Firebird on dinner date. Stan drove me to Foodland & got oil change at Phillips 66. Then went to Bookmobile. Made pineapple cookies.

Wed – School. Sewed Carol’s blouse. Knitted Dave’s sweater. Had stuffed flank steak. Watched TV & knitted. Took short walk. Stan got me diamond earrings. Beautiful.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Changed sheets. Folded & ironed. Stan went bowling. Then got Carol. Knitted.

Sat – Stan worked half day. Washed clothes. Kids cleaned. Went to store. Kids played outside. Bill H. brought Chris out. Played cards. Dave worked night.

Sun – Worked crosswords. Read paper. Made cream puffs. Fixed steak. Dave & Elaine went to LRY. Sewed zipper in Elaine’s cape. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Ironed & put away. Stan didn’t come home dinner. Had meeting. Dave worked.

Tue – School. Went to store after Dave came home. Read paper. Watched TV. Called Eleanor.

Wed – School. Straightened house. Made borsch gelatin (ugh). Made pork roast. Went over Iames.

Thu – School. Went to bank & Bartolatto’s. Dave went to school. Went to K-Mart & Foodland. Cold. Had fire.

Fri – School. Mended. Bill’s car battery dead. Hoss came in after (jumpers). Made stuffed peppers & cabbage rolls. Cleaned living room. Called mothers for valentines party. Played cards.

Mon – No school. Teachers work day. Washed clothes. Gave boys haircuts Went to South Hills Village. Called Mrs. O. & Dad. Went to Thrift & Bartolatto’s.

Tue – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Ironed & put away. Typed letter to stop draft from ISL Ins. On bank account. Went to bank & store. Sewed Harry’s trousers.

Wed – School. Made apple pies. Worked on end of the month billings. Cleaned Julie’s room & upstairs hall. Stan took Datsun to get inspected. Fixed supper early. Bill & Frank went to shop. Dave worked night.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Made apron. Mended. Made lasagna. Elaine brought friend home. She washed clothes. Dave drove her back to school. Watched TV. Mixed cookie dough.

Fri – Straightened. Went to Foodland. Made raisin filled cookies. Big job. Lady called about PTA refrigerator. Stan, Julie & I went to see Dad. He went to his Dad’s. Dave Conklin slept over.

Wed – School. Julie sick. Went for ride. Packed kids lunch. Went to visit Grace. Carol stayed in town. Met. Life Insurance Man (Joe Hunt) came.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Ironed. Sewed Elaine’s shirt. Stan went bowling. Took Frank & Harry to Sears.

Fri – No school. Teachers work day. Bad day. Did change about with Frank. Did dishes. Went to Hornes. Visited Mrs. Iames. Carol went all night bowling.

Sat – Went to store & bank. Washed clothes. Kids cleaned. Re-did the kitchen. Ironed. Stan went bowling. Bill H. & Bob H. & Pat stopped out.

Sun – Up early. Swept & mopped the cellar. Fixed lunch. Took pot into Dad’s & visited. Carol fixed cake. Made chili. Went to Mrs. Iames. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Straightened house. Carol registered for night school. Home late.

Tue - School. Ironed clothes. Read. Cut out dress. Sewed. Stan, Frank & I went to Sears. Stan took Frank to K-Mart. Got tape recorder. Bill H. came out.

1970

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Ironed. Stan went bowling. Carol had first day of school – new semester. Swept & mopped cellar.

Fri – No school. Teachers work day. Kids cleaned. Made cake. Cleaned kitchen. Started to get bad cold. Velma & Wayne Bell came. Nice visit.

Sat – Kids watched TV. Stan worked till noon. Washed clothes. Dryer didn’t work. Stan fixed. Bonnie, Chuck & Chris came. Stayed for supper. Stan went to stag party.

Sun – Bad cold. Read paper. Gray day. Gave boys haircuts. Carol drove Frank to F. Hinkels. Carol & Greg washed cars. Sewed Elaine’s blouse.

Mon – School. Stan home sick. Washed clothes. Ironed. Finished Elaine’s blouse. Took Harry, Ivan & Julie to Pack meeting. Didn’t stay. Bill called. David got kids.

Tue – School. Stan & Dave home sick. Went to store. Made galumpkies. Cleaned stove. Shoveled walks. Took Frank to Sears. Got shoes. Bill called again (about car).

Wed – School. Dave home. Washed clothes. Changed our beds. Straightened house. Stan visited Matt George. Mixed rolls.

1971

Fri – No school. Teachers work day. Kids cleaned. Went to bank & store. Stan & Bill home late. Carol had Greg, Roxy & Mark. Made pizza. Andrea came. I took bath & went to bed early.

Sat – Washed clothes. Went to store. Stan fixed downstairs toilet. Got annoyed. Took kids to see “Aristocats”. Went to store. Carol picked them up again.

Sun – Went to UU. Had body dance exercises. Enjoyable. Read paper. Fixed strawberries & sirloin patties. Went to Benacks. Worked crosswords. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Changed sheets. Swept & mopped cellar. Carol had school. Stan went bowling. Went to store. Then went to pack meeting. Pinewood derby. Ivan won 3 loss 2.

Tue – Lazy. Bill went to town. Power was off from 9:30 to 5:00. House cold. Terrific wind. Crocheted. Buildt fire.

Wed – School. Frank home sick. Felt lousy. Bad cold. Crocheted.

Thu – School. Greg home sick. Washed clothes. Ironed. Stan went bowling. Made meat loaf & custard.

1972

Sat – Washed clothes. Stan took car for front end align. Bill washed and waxed Firebird. Cleaned kitchen. Bill, Frank, Stan & I played cards. Watched movie. Dave worked. Ann stayed overnight.

Sun – Elaine went to church – LRY bake sale. Made Boston cream pie. Nice day. Ann Belore was here. Bob H. stopped out. Played cards – Harry & Greg.

Mon – No school. Teachers work day. Kids took hike. Nice day. Straightened house. Swept back porch. Went to store. Stella & Bill stopped out. Fixed coffee & talked.

Tue – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Joe Glew stopped. Buildt fire. Fixed pizza. Went to store for iron & vitamins. Windy & cold.

Wed – School. Knitted. Straightened house. Simmered turkey. Cut off meat. Elaine babysat. Played bridge. Stayed up late.

Tue – School. Called Marion. Talked on phone. PTA. Made choco-date loaf & rigatoni. Went to Penny’s & Bartolattos. Frank helped Bill with deliveries. Bill sick. Elaine came home in eve. To wash clothes.

Wed – School. Worked on accounts. Cleaned kitchen. Fixed bread crumbs. Cut out top. Dave went to dorm. Elaine called. Made banana nut loaf. Called Dad. Made fire. Made Ivan’s snake.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Folded & ironed. Cleaned out mail. Fixed deposit for CL. Tool. Started Julie’s afghan.

Fri – School. Cleaned living room. Went for mild & A&P. Went to see about PTA refrigerator. Bought it. Got Julie at Collette’s. Went to K-Mart. Called Carol.

Sat – Stan had to work. Washed clothes. Went to store. Dave worked. Harry bowled. Called Elaine & Carol. Watched TV. Crocheted.

Sun – Made chicken, tuna salad, mixed meat loaf. Marion called. Went to Carol’s Sewed her dress & made her cabbage rolls. Worked on accounts. Home. Relaxed.

Fri – School. Took shower & washed hair. Put new cover on comforter. Visited Mrs. Iames. Took Dave & went to bank & Krogers. Frank not to go to John Vilsack’s.

Sat – Washed clothes. Rainy day. Stan took kids bowling. Elaine saw “Romeo & Juliet”. Went shopping. Elaine went to basketball game. Carol was at Janie’s.

Sun – Relaxed & read paper. Wrote checks & wrote Bill. Elaine & I made fortune cookies. Had Janie for supper. Visited Mrs. Iames. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Went to Sears for bed sides. Made brownies & stew. Made kids clean muddy shoes.

Tue – Ironed clothes. Straightened house. Dad came out. Went to store. Carol baked cookies. Started Elaine’s shirt.

Sun – Read paper. Stan worked on mailbox. Wendy came. Stayed for supper. Carol & Greg went out for supper.

Tue – School. Baked cake. Wrote Bill. Drove Stan to work. Took Greg to eye Dr. Went to store. Snow. Got Stan from work – slid. Stan got Elaine & Andrea. Greg couldn’t get car started. Stayed.

Wed – School. Elaine home. Carol’s Greg went with Stan. Plymouth broke down. Greg walked home. Baked apple pie & rolls. Cut Elaine’s blouse. Bob Iames helped Greg get car started. Stan got Buick. Went to store.

Fri – School. Julie, Mrs. Iames & I went to town to exchange yarn. Stopped at store. Started Carol’s tunic top. Went to K-Mart. Got light & background for fish tank.

Sat – Up late. Fixed ham & eggs. Washed clothes. Stan went to store. Got Harry tennis shoes. Elaine went to Andrea’s for overnight. Stan went to Helen’s. Made rolls & pecan roll.

Sun – Lazy day. Knitted. Swept snow on walk. Stan went to Benaducci’s to watch Super Bowl & play cards. Home early. Bill, Stan & I played cards.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Changed sheets. Knitted. Stan went bowling. Built fire.

Tue – School. Cleaned living room & dining room. Made pies (Frozen apples – ugh – throw away). Bill bought insurance. Oven spilled over so cleaned it. Knitted.

Wed – School. Made cookies & pudding. Straightened house. Bill, Stella, Jeanne Anne & Steven were here for supper. Carol & Greg ate later. Had nice visit.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Stan went bowling. Watched TV. Worked & finished Carol’s sweater. Tight.

Sat – Slept late. Washed clothes. Kids cleaned. Knitted poncho. Bill taught us to play bridge. Played cards. Dave worked. Very cold. Ivan went to birthday party (Danny Flint)

Sun – Read paper. Very cold. Had to go to Blue Flame to get David (car wouldn’t start). Buildt fire. Everyone watched Super Bowl (Dallas 24 – Miami 3). Kids got baths. D& E went to LRY (Frank, too).

Mon – School. Worked crosswords. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Fixed pork roast & chocolate bread pudding. Played cards. Knitted. Watched Bob Hope Special.

Tue – School. Lazy. Made cheese cake. Knitted. Dave home early. Went to bank & store. Bill had to work. Elaine & Andrea went out to Carol’s.

Wed – School. Cleaned & varnished half of Dave’s bedroom. Made lemon meringue pie. Knitted. Watched TV.

Tue – School. No heat. Furnace broke. Packed kids lunch. Went with Regina looking for refrigerator. Disappointed. Bill fixed furnace. Made fire. Damper closed. Smoked. Went to store.

Wed – School. Stan home sick. Washed hair. Called on phone (PTA). Made vegetable supper (disaster). Relaxed at home. Bill & Frank worked at shop.

Thu – School. Stan still home. Washed clothes. Folded & ironed. Changed sheets. Went to Foodland & Thrift. Watched Waltons.

Fri – School. Frank home. Sore throat. Knitted. Finished bootie. Started bonnet. Cleaned kitchen. Kids showed home movies. Frank made popcorn.

Sat – Cleaned up & washed clothes. Stan cut cans. Went to store. Stan went to stag party. Called Mary Narvin.

Sun – Continued the fire. Knitted. Bill H. & boys came out. Went to Frank’s shack. Talked on walkie-talkie. Made meat loaf & baked cake.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Ironed. Cleaned fire place & straightened. Stan took Frank & Elaine to hospital. I took Harry to Dr. Cohen & store. Frank has patch on eye.

Tue – School. Kids almost missed bus. Wrote letters to Grace P. & Walter Altman. Cut out skirt & shirt. Took Frank to Dr. Cohen. Went to store.

Thu – School. Cold. Got wood. Stan stopped at store. Stan went bowling. Took hat apart & made it bigger. Cleaned cellar.

Fri – School. Gregory stayed home. Got wood. Sewed dress. Crocheted scarf. Watched TV.

Sat – Wagon battery frozen. Dave & I went to Eastland. Washed clothes. Elaine went with Carol. Got shoes. Watched movie “How to Murder your Wife”.

Sun – Slept late. Baked cake. Chopped left over chicken. Went to Haines. Made chicken soup & pancakes for lunch. Read. Went to Mrs. Iames. Worked crosswords. Greg stayed overnight.

Mon – School. Greg took Carol to work. Washed clothes. Ironed. Baked chicken. Stan went to Carbide Eng. after supper. Water softener man came. Crocheted Carol’s hat.

Tue – School. Went to Murphy’s, Sears & Bartolattos. Made chocolate chip cookies. Finished Carol’s hat. Tired. Watched TV.

Wed – School. Straightened living room. Sewed buttons on couch. Made banana cream pie. Stan put up new bed frame. Water man came again. Crocheted scarf.

Sun – Slept late. Made cream puffs & beef roast. Nice day. Walked around yard. Frank home late for supper (went to movies). Dave & Elaine went to LRY. Carol went to Indiana. Carol typed Dave’s paper.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Took Julie to dental clinic. Stan had Carbide Eng. meeting. Went to store.

Tue – School. Mended. Went to store. Read. Fixed strawberries. Went to town, yarn store. Waited for Carol. Bill & Elaine cooked supper.

Wed – School. Baked oatmeal-apple squares. Crocheted Afghan. Bill put down hall carpet. Cleaned out bookcase & record cabinet.

Sun – Fixed ice tea & juice. Baked cake Went to Haines. Stan rolled off. Carol & Jim stopped. Frank & Dave Conklin ate some & then went to church dinner. Dave & Elaine went to LRY. Played cards.
