March 25 - March 31, 1974-1978

1974

Mon – School. Took Ivan to dentist. Had 5 teeth pulled. He stayed home. Made chicken. Watched TV.

Tue – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Took Greg to work. Left car to get fixed for inspection. Stan went about changing title of Plymouth.

Wed- School. Straightened house. Took Harry to dental clinic. Went to A&P and read in car. Picked up my car & took Chrysler for inspection.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Electric off about 2 ½ hr. Went to store. Made sausage casserole. Julie went to brownies. Ivan, Julie, Stan & I went to 6^th grade concert.

Fri – School. Went to bank & store. Fixed lunch. Cleaned up. Grace called. Made Boston cream pie. Julie & I died eggs. Harry went to shop to help paint.

Sat – Cleaned kitchen & bath. Washed clothes. Went to store. Cleaned living room. Went to Iames. Worked on puzzle. Called Carol.

Sun – Finished Mrs. Iames puzzle. Harry & Ivan took bike ride to South Park. Called Marion & Elaine. Made apple pizza and meat loaf. Stan & Dan went bowling. Kids got baths. Watched “Upstairs, Downstairs”.

1975

Tue – School. Bad cold. Went to Meders & to store. Sewed covers for tops of chairs (dining) & covered pillows. Marion called. Watched TV. Boiled Julie’s eggs for school.

Wed – School. Had bad cold. Made dough for nut rolls. Made cookies, cake & nut rolls. Took some to night school. Priscilla came & worked on income tax with Stan.

Thu – Washed clothes. Drained over the hill. Frank came home at lunch time. Put leaf in table. Called Elaine & Stella.

Fri – No school. Set up other bed. Cleaned. Helped Julie clean her room. Took kids to library & museum. They went to Elaine’s. Harry had practice. Went to store. Just I & me for supper. Don brought kids home.

Sat – Kids cleaned. Washed clothes. Dyed eggs. Made potato salad. Bill H. stopped out. Stan & I went to store. Watched “Ten Commandments” Part I on TV.

Sun – Easter. Cold & snowy. Hunted for basket (for us). Kids found theirs. Had ham, potato salad & chicken soup. Elaine & Don stopped out. Transplanted tomato plants. Watched “Ten Commandments”.

Mon – No school. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Cleaned kids bedroom upstairs. Went to K-Mart. Fixed supper. Pruned trees. Dan Arico came.

1976

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Changed sheets. Mrs. Buzek called. Iced cake. Took Frank to Dr. Went to see about job. Stan & I went to hospital to see Pap.

Fri – School. Up early. Showered, etc. Went to work for 1^st day at Tumacs. Made 2 boat covers. Dave cooked supper. Went to store. Very tired. Marion called. Went to bed early.

Sat – Windy, rain – turned cooler. Washed clothes. Went to store. Cleaned kitchen & bath. Called Elaine (Didn’t get job.) Made ice tea & juice.

Sun – Nice day. Went to store. Made cherry cobbler & stuffed chicken. Picked over chicken. Made waffles (lunch). Watched last episode “Upstairs, Downstairs”. Knitted Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Went to work. Long day. Frank tried to wash clothes. Did all the sheets. Took them out of dryer half wet. Had to re-dry & make beds. Very tired.

Tue – School. Went early to work. Stan took Ivan to dental clinic. Frank had physical (VRC). Had creamed chicken. Took shower & washed hair. Dave took Julie to library.

Wed – School. Went to work early. Rain. Stopped at store. Washed load of clothes. Stan went back to shop – took Frank to help. Dave made chili & snacking cake for supper.

1977

Fri – School. Sewed buttons on Julie’s outfit. Mended. Cleaned house. Took Ivan to get chain for motor bike. Greg went to bank & for pizza. Julie went to Valley for cartoons. Washed clothes.

Sat – They turned off electricity (not quite 1 hr.). Transplanted seedlings. Went to store. Greg got sport glasses from Siegel’s. Read & crocheted.

Sun – Nice day. Stan went with Dave to shop. Mary came out with Mrs. Gromsek & Lucy. Baked cake & made roast. Kids got baths. Watched TV.

Mon – School. Light rain. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Cleaned upstairs. Went to bank & store. Crocheted & wrote checks. No girl scouts.

Tue – School. Nice day. Called Carol. Baked pies – cherry, apple & lemon sponge. Answered phone about Dave’s ad. Went for milk. Picked up Frank. Had stew. Got Julie from Lori. Dave stopped.

Wed – School. Hot. Planted peas & onions. Crocheted. Took apart the back of Elaine’s top. Went to Murphy Mart. Ordered wall paper. Made lasagna. Washed clothes.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Changed my sheets & Julie’s. Crocheted. Stan worked at shop with Dave. Had steak. Frank came for supper. Ivan saw “Romeo & Juliet”. Watched TV.

1978

Sat – Busy. Rain. Washed clothes. Cooked eggs & potatoes. Made Russian torte & cake. Teacher came for Julie’s lesson. Kids dyed eggs. Made potato salad. Did clues for baskets. Iced cake. Turned cold. Frank got GED diploma.

Sun – Easter. Ivan hid Julie’s basket. Ivan last basket. Read paper. Had potato salad, ham, etc. Dave came. Took Julie to show “Casey’s Shadow”. Watched TV.

Mon – Gray day. Stan took Frank to Braddock School (snow make-up). Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Changed sheets. Called Mary. Had ham & made ham salad. Went to milk store & store.

Tue – School. Called Marion. Stan took Frank. Wrote Elaine. Cut out & sewed slacks. Called Bill H. at hospital. Elaine called. Fixed chicken. Harry took Volvo wiper motor to Bill.

Wed – School. Nice day. Called Eleanor. Washed front window. Made cherry turnovers & pies. Made stew. Bill stopped – had Volvo wiper motor. Julie & I went to concert. Maxence Larrieu – flutist. Very good.

Thu – School. Dave couldn’t get car started. Stan used jumpers. Greg brought Dave here. I drove Greg to work. Washed clothes. Took Dave to get his car. Stopped at store. Watched TV.

Fri – School. Frank drained sewer. Cleaned house. Called Marion. Went to bank & store. Stan called Bill Hatfield – to come home tomorrow. Played cards – Greg took fit.
