March 18 - March 24, 1974-1978

1974

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Sewer up. Swept & mopped. Started Julie’s dress. Made banana loaf. Went to K-Mart & store.

Tue – School. Finished Julie’s dress. Took Harry & Ivan to dentist. Picked up Elaine’s clothes. Washed them. Mended clothes. Stan & I went to show “Sleeper”. Stella & Bill stopped (missed them).

Wed- School. Made Julie a slip. Mended clothes. Sewed Ivan’s sport coat. Called Stella. Stan visited Pap. Cleaned up house.

Thu – School. Up early. Put clothes on to wash. Grace P. came. Stayed for breakfast & lunch. Julie brought Debbie home. Had steak. Julie had Brownies. Julie sold key chains.

Fri – School. Went to store. Cleaned kitchen. Grace called. Worked on eggs. Painted them. Stan worked at shop. Neighbor kids here to see home movies.

Sat – Washed clothes. Straightened living room. Stan & I drove to Carol’s to see Plymouth wagon. Made sweet sour pork (tough). Dave went to concert. Went to K-Mart. Dave took Elaine’s clothes back.

Sun – Went to Iames (worked puzzle). Fixed roast. Greg had all boys in cellar. Dave & I drove out to get Plymouth Wagon. Stan worked at shop. Read paper. Typed play for Ivan.

1975

Tue – School. Called Eleanor. Pruned tree in front. Stan went to Latrobe. Took Ivan to Pitt Dental. Tried to prune trees in back. Did homework.

Wed – School. Did 1 load wash. Stan signed up & worked on dining room chairs. Stuffed turkey. Read Newsweek. Tried to get Greg (rain). Car wouldn’t go right. Went to school. Got gas.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Pruned trees. Mended. Marion called. Dan Arico came. Elaine & Don came. Elaine washed clothes. Talked.

Fri – School. Called Frances Crain. Made cherry & blueberry pies. Cleaned kitchen & bath. Picked Greg up from tennis. Julie went to PTO card party. Cleaned living room & dining room.

Sat – Kids cleaned. Washed clothes. Harry had ball practice. Hurt wrist. Stan took Julie & Ivan skating at Rostraver. Went to store. Watched TV. Typed return letter to Frank.

Sun – Beautiful day. Read paper. Worked outside. Picked up sticks, swept top parking & top drive-way. Took stones out of grass. Fixed chicken. Tired. Kids got baths. Gave Stan & H haircuts.

Mon –School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Had trouble with car (automatic choke). Went to bank & K-Mart. Got kids shoes. Called Mary. Sent return letter form to Frank.

1976

Thu – School. Made Russian torte & thumbprint cookies for Marion’s party. Washed clothes. Made potato salad. Stan rented truck but too late with scrap.

Fri – School. Frank helped Stan. Sold scrap. Made peirogi & made kapusta. Cleaned kitchen & bath. Stan & I went to Marion & Don’s party. Dave came after work. Had nice lunch.

Sat – Harry had baseball practice. Stan took them. Washed clothes & cleaned. Bill stopped by. Harry worked with Benacks. Went to store. Called Mary.

Sun – Cool. Sorted mail. Read paper. Had French toast. Stan took kids for driving lessons. Had steak & strawberries. Marion called. Kids got baths. Julie washed hair.

Mon – School. Called Mrs. Erickson. Washed clothes. Swept. Frank mopped. Went to J. Hills Conv. Home. Got Harry. He drove to Foodland & home.

Tue – School. Carol called. Wrote Mrs. Busic. Gathered up sticks. Went to Olan Mills Studio (about job) & store. Harry drove to K-Mart. Watched TV. Greg went to play practice.

Wed – School. Carl DiPietro came from VRC. Drove Frank to see about work. Cleaned out fireplace. Frank, Greg & Dave dug garden. Harry had practice. Called Elaine & Stan called Caroline.

1977

Fri – School. Cleaned house. Stan felt sick. Played cards. Greg lost his temper. Frank’s parole officer called. Harry got tea bags & ham at store.

Sat – Harry took chemistry test. Washed clothes. Went to store. Read story In magazine. Had hot dogs. Mixed dough. Harry had job.

Sun – Read paper. Made blueberry danish. Bill & Carolyn stopped out. Mary came with her friend Mary. Served rolls & tea. Dave went to shop to help Stan. Dave stayed for supper.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Went to store. Had pork chops. Julie had scouts. Harry had baseball practice. Julie & I went to store for material.

Tue –School. Julie brought Collette home for lunch. Stan took specimen to Dr. King. Cut out & sewed Julie’s top. Grace Pavelko called. Started Elaine’s top – gauge wrong – ripped out.

Wed – School. Sewed Julie’s vest. Dave & Frank came for lunch. Frank dug garden & stayed for supper. Signed up at Unemployment & stopped at store. Julie got clothes from Leslie.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Sewed & pressed Julie’s outfit. Had trouble with button holes. Crocheted Elaine’s top. Julie baked cookies. Frank dug garden & stayed for supper.

1978

Sat – Julie sick. Cancelled 1^st oboe lesson. Harry had baseball practice. Harry got new suit (Benacks). Washed clothes. Bill & Greg & Stan worked on Volvo. Brought it home. Went to milk store.

Sun – Cold. Read paper. Harry took Volvo to Bill’s. Got timed. Kids worked on brakes & washed it. Typed Julie’s poems. Baked cake. Stan called Caroline. He worked on experiment.

Mon – School. Julie home sick. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Dug garden & planted peas. Fixed front yard & planted seed. Went to store. Got dog food – Mrs. Iames. Tired.

Tue – School. Julie still home. Greg found wallet & driver’s license. Pruned grapes. Windy & then rain. Baked toll house. Called Bill H. & Marion at hospital. Got Dave at Speir’s & took to work. Went to store & left Subaru at Ponderosa. Called Grace Pavelko.

Wed – School. Lots of snow gone. Dave slept here. Dave helped trim front tree. Did outside work. Took Dave to get car. Made stuffed chicken. Went to Oakland for flute concert. Wrong week. Julie & I walked around.

Thu – School.

Fri – No school. Worked outside. Drove Greg to work & went to store. Ivan buildt fire outside. Julie & I pruned tree. Frank dug up sewer. Started to rain. Ground nuts for torte.
