1974

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Drained sewage. Changed sheets. Made roast. Stan went to Carbide Eng. Visited Iames. Read about Wallis Simpson (Duchess of Windsor).

Tue – School. Drove out to H. Johnston. Julie got picture taken (school). Straightened house. Made brownies & chili lasagna. Watched TV & read.

Wed- School. Called Marion. Dave took car. Washed hair. Cut out dress & apron. Made chop suey. Started to sew.

Thu – School. Dave took car. Washed clothes. Sewed dress. Watched channel 13 for “Upstairs, Downstairs”. Frank went to football thing – got jacket.

Fri – School. Drove Dave to McKeesport. Went to bank & store. Dave went to State College. Julie, Stan & I went to card party at Valley. Won purse & cleaners card. Carol & Elaine came. Baked rolls for bake sale.

Sat – Up late. Stan not feeling well. Washed clothes. Took bake goods for sale. Went to store. Handle on hammer broke. Cleaned living room. Stan helped. Called Mary.

Sun – Made French toast. Kids gave me bad time. Read paper. Called Carol & Elaine. Bill H. stopped out. Frank helped Bill at shop. Dave got home from State college (hitch-hiked). Watched TV.

1975

Tue – School. Took Harry to Pitt Dental. Went to store. Made soup & honey cake. Picked up Harry & Jim Giansanti. Went to Ramsey’s. Got Honey for Bill H. Stan went to shop. Got letter from Frank (1^st).

Wed – School. Worked on school homework. Worked on shop checks. Sorted things. Stella & Bill stopped. Had lunch. Went to school. Stopped at Grants. Sale tomorrow. Disgusted.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Cleaned out upstairs bathroom cupboards. Went to K-Mart. Made stuff chicken & apple crisp & banana bread.

Fri – School. Cleaned upstairs bathroom. Did kitchen & downstairs bathroom. Went to store. Called Stella. Julie went to Leslie’s. Stan worked on income tax.

Sat – Washed clothes. Worked on seat covers for dining room chairs. Washed & varnished 2. Stan glued 2. Kids watched TV.

Sun – Read paper. Washed & varnished chairs & did seat covers. Made pork roast. Called Stella.

Mon – Washed clothes. Drained water over hill. Swept & mopped. Changed Harry & Ivan bed & clothes to different dressers. Varnished last 2 chairs. Carol came for lunch.

1976

Thu – School. Picked up Frank (fired). Harry home sick. Washed clothes & cleaned house. Stan & I went to get milk & went to Bill & Carolyn’s. Mary called. Started Harry’s sweater.

Fri – School. Went to town. IRS. Should sell stock. Went to bank & store. Car wouldn’t start at first. Made beef stroganoff. Mixed dough for sour cream twists.

Sat – Very blue. Frank didn’t give me dirty clothes (abusive). Washed clothes. Went to store. Made kapusta & hamburgers. Fixed rolls in evening.

Sun – Read paper. Stan went to shop. Made roast & rolls. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Changed sheets. Bill Hatfield stopped. Greg started class play tryouts.

Tue – School. Washed hair. Felt blue. Knitted. Went to store. Snowed. Made stew. Carol called. Called JoAnn O’Reilly Marion called. Replanted tomato seedlings. Trimmed Dave’s hair. Harry worked.

Wed – School. Waited for man from VRC, but he didn’t show. Went to store. (Got supplies for cookies, etc.) Harry drove home from school. Made peanut butter cookies with Hershey kisses.

1977

Fri – School. Very warm (71 degrees) Dave came to work. Cleaned house. Stan went to VA eye Dr. Made Bar B Q Ribs & stuffing. Elaine called. Went to store. Made juice & ice tea, spaghetti sauce. Played cards.

Sat – Washed clothes. Harry had baseball practice. Harry & Greg went to Siegel’s about glasses. Stan worked on Subaru muffler. Played cards.

Sun – Slept late. Made French toast. Stan & Dave went to new shop. Dave cleaned light fixture. Bill called. Watched “Upstairs, Downstairs”. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Telephone pole slid over. Swept & mopped. Called Marion. Worked on lining of Stan’s jacket. Had family fight about TV.

Tue –School. Julie home. Bad ear ache. Went to bank & store. Cut out Julie’s culottes. Hot (72 degrees). Made kapusta & pizza. Watched “La Boheme” & “Mash”. Frank stopped. Harry worked.

Wed – School. Finished Stan’s sport coat. Mended. Called Roberta H. Gimpner. Stan went to eye Dr. Frank came. Talked about going to New York & Europe. Julie brought home picture.

Thu – School. Stan went to West Virginia. Washed clothes. Baked cookies. Went to bank, post office & milk store. Dave stopped. Played cards. Watched George Forman vrs. Young fights on TV.

1978

Sat – Nice day. Washed clothes. Kids cleaned cars. Dave brought his to clean, too. Went to West Newton with Stan. Stopped at store. Frank & Ivan went to Dave’s for supper. Greg & Harry worked.

Sun – Light rain. Kids changed oil. Harry took Bill’s back & went to Carol’s. Took business records. Dave came. Played stratomatic. Called Marion & Stella. Stan called Bill & repaired fireplace.

Mon – School. Most snow melting. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Got garbage cans. Made French fries & omelet. Mended. Went to Mrs. Iames. Washed back.

Tue – School. Harry drove Greg to work. Stan took Volvo. I took Subaru. Went to Sq. Hill for research. Stopped at stores. Got sea scallops. Washed 1 load. Watched “Soap”. Dave stopped.

Wed – School. Called Marion. Made orange cookies. Read. Had words with Frank. Called Mental Health. Julie & I went to St. Clair Hosp. to visit Marion.

Thu – School. Felt blue about Frank. Washed clothes. Called Eleanor & Mary – trouble with Pap. Went to store. Bill stopped.

Fri – School. Julie had concert at Roosevelt. Greg got stuck with Volvo. Stan & I tried to start it – no go. Called Marion & Bill H. at hospital. Guys went back to Volvo – Greg went to bank.
