July 9 - July 15, 1969-1973

1969

Wed - Swept cellar. Frank mopped. Straightened up living room. Cleaned kitchen. Dad & Mary came out. Showed movies.

Thu – Washed clothes. Went to Penney’s. Bought material for Elaine. Went to Thorofare. Kids went to ballgame. Rain. Stan got stuck in mud.

Fri – Washed clothes again. Folded & put away. Went to store. Took Dave for driver’s test (failed). Wendy visited.

Sat – Cut grass. We all took turns. Stan worked. Carol & Elaine went shopping. Daddy took kids to Teener game. Weeded back.

Sun – Beautiful day. Worked on grape arbor. Stan put new posts & wiring. Dave cut down tree. Mad a fire. Elaine went to drive-in with Wendy.

Mon – Washed clothes. Sewer came up. Went to store. Scolded D. about driving. Harry got bike. Made fire. Elaine went to ball game. Orioles 19 – Jay Hawks 6.

Tue – Hot. Baked butterscotch brownies. Cleaned out entryway cupboard. Washed jackets. Stan took kids to ballgame. Blue Jays 2 – Orioles 0. All took baths or showers.

1970

Thu – Washed clothes. Swept cellar. Harry mopped. Went to store. Ironed. Elaine & Dave went to LRY picnic. Rain.

Fri – Dave went to store. Kids cleaned house. Went to K-Mart. Cut out & sewed dress. Greg came out. Carol made pizza. Kids watched TV baseball game.

Sat – Washed clothes. Folded & ironed. Finished green dress. Cleaned kitchen. Made soup. Mrs. O. came up with Ariena.

Sun – Had left over soup. Packed bags. Carol drove Stan & I to airport. Took jet to N.Y. Stan registered. Ate at Gauchos’s (Summit Hotel). Walked around. Went to art store. Bought painting.

Mon – Stan had morning lecture. Walked around Park Ave. Bought post cards & mailed them. Went to Tower Suite for dinner. Elegant. Went to wharf for yacht. Too late.

Tue – Went to Hospitality room. Six of us ladies toured U. N. building. Called Honey. Went to Chandlers for dinner & to theater “Last of the Red Hot Lovers”.

Wed – Last day in New York. Had lunch at Pan Am – Copper Club. Dave took kids to Lake Yough. Carol & Greg came to meet our plane. Unpacked.

1971

Fri – Rain. Kids cleaned. Don Scheiman stopped by. Drove me to Haines. Made spaghetti. Andrea came for supper. Stan & I went to Marion & Don’s.

Sat – Nice day. Stan went to ball game with Carbidie employees. Dave took boys to game. Washed clothes. Went to store. Visited Ramsey’s.

Sun – Rain. Slept late. Stan took kids bowling. Fixed meat loaf. Jim came over. Stayed for supper. Dave & Elaine went to LRY. Crocheted.

Mon – Washed clothes. Went to dentist with Julie (not there). Kids packed lunches & went to Sunnyhill to work. Went to town to get Carol.

Tue – Kids cleaned cellar. Made French toast brunch. Mended. Cut front grass. Went to bookmobile & store. Boys all watched all star game.

Wed – Cleaned out medicine cabinet. Men started to dig our yard. Took out stones & steps. Sewer trouble. Stan worked wire in pipe. Washed load of clothes. Frank & Ivan had games.

Thu – Men came with electric eel. Couldn’t get through. Gas line men dug & filled. Frank & Dave dug out grease trap. Went to store. Stan & kids worked on trap. Everyone got baths.

1972

Sun – Nice day. Cleaned out pool. Kids cut grass. Stan went to shop. Fixed chicken & fruit cocktail pudding. Stan got new tires for Datsun mounted. Bruce H. came out. Dave & Elaine went to LRY.

Mon – Washed clothes. Watched Leslie. Took kids to gym. Went to store & diary. Got stuck. Dave took me home. Bill got new jumpers. Took car for spin. Fellow came to x-change Chrysler.

Tue – Hot & humid. Made cream horns. Elaine helped. Went to store. Washed clothes. Kids swept & mopped cellar. Frank had game. Greg practice. Stan got spike in new tire. Carol called. Kids went swimming.

Wed – Kids made big breakfast & mess. Cleaned kitchen & made bread crumbs. Went to store. Brakes stuck. Couldn’t call home. Stan & Bill worked on brakes. Watched convention. McGovern nominated.

Thu – Washed clothes. Mended. Went to diary. Took kids to drive-in. Saw “Now You See Him, Now You Don’t” Stan went to 1^st Federal & John Marks.

Fri – Cleaned living room. Elaine went to Dr. (sore throat & Pitt ex.) Went to bank & store. Kids had games. Got Toro grass bag. Carol & Jim came out. Dave & Elaine went to LRY rally. Wrote checks.

Sat – Hot & humid. Washed clothes. Went to store. Frank had game. Mad soup. Knitted. Elaine & Dave went to LRY rally & work.

1973

Mon – Greg started summer school. Rev. McMiker stopped about Bible School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped.

Tue – Summer school. Julie & Ivan went to Bible School. Hot & humid. Wrote letter to Harold. Stan home with iritis. Rained.

Wed – Police at door. Where is Elaine? Dave, Frank & Greg to school. Went to store. Car out of gas. Fixed apples. Made apple pies. Ivan cut front grass. Weeded.

Thu – Washed clothes. Made apple pies. Froze 2. Made cookies. Stan & Bill went to Frank’s game. Frank went to Conklin’s (Indiana). Dave cut back grass. Fixed strawberry pie. Carol stopped out.

Fri – Cleaned kitchen. Went to school for Bible School program. Went to bank & store. Sprinkled lawn. Weeded garden. Watered.

Sat – Washed hair. Washed clothes. Started to make cabbage rolls. Mrs. Iames called. Took Bob to hospital. Heart attack. Went to store.

Sun – Nice day. Read paper. Baked cake. Fixed Hoagies for brunch. Made fried chicken. Dave, Julie & I went to Caroline’s & Stella’s.
