July 16 - 22, 1969 - 1973

1969

Wed – Hot again. Drove Stan to work. Took Plymouth for inspection. Watched Apollo 11 (Moon Shot). Washed clothes. Cut front grass. Stan & Ivan went to see Pap.

Thu – Went to Acme. Fixed early supper. Took Ivan to Dr. Took Stan to ballgame. Orioles 4 – Hawks 2. Went to store. Got Carol early.

Fri – Took Dave out for test. Passed. Stopped at South Hills Village. Went to bank & store. Hot & humid. Wrote checks. Carol left for Indiana State Teachers.

Sat – Washed clothes. Frank had red leather glove in wash (ugh!)

Sun – Rain. Read paper. Watched TV till late. Watched first man on moon (Armstrong – Aldrin – Collins). Called Stella. Mary called.

Mon – Washed clothes. Swept cellar. Kids mopped. Went to store in eve. Man came about garage.

Tue – Finished Stan’s sweater. Frank had all star practice. Had corn from egg man. Took kids to drive-in “Peter Pan” & “Paper Lion”.

1970

Thu – Washed clothes. Bill came home. Changed sheets. Went to store. Fixed steaks & pan browned potatoes. Bill didn’t come till evening. He took suitcase to Eleanor. Up late talking.

Fri – Slept late. Baked cake. Kids cleaned. Went to bank & store. Paid bills. Made chicken. Had Bill & Wendy. Elaine stayed at Andrea’s.

Sat – Elaine went to Andrea’s. Washed clothes. Carol washed car. Changed sheets. Cleaned kitchen. Bill Wendy, Stan & I went to Odd Chair Theater. Saw “Everything in the Garden”.

Sun – Hot & humid. Elaine went to St. Paulina’s picnic with Andrea. Bill & Wendy took kids swimming at Clairton. Carol went to Indiana. Waded in home pool. Uncle Bill H. came out.

Mon – Washed clothes. Picked beets from garden. Made frozen pastry cups. Fixed fresh fruit. Had Bill & Wendy for supper. Meat loaf. Weeded.

Tue – Picked & fixed beans. Made pies. Aunt Mary & Pap came for supper. Bill & Wendy stopped out. Men went bowling. Bought potato chips & pop.

Wed – Tired. Went to Southland. Got jacket for Frank. Elaine went to Andrea’s. Bill & Wendy stopped. Bill left for Diego. Went to Haines.

1971

Fri – Kids cleaned house. Washed clothes. Tested grease trap. Folded & ironed. Made chocolate crème pie. Stan, kids & I went to drive-in. “Willie Wonka Cho. Factory” & “New Leaf”.

Sat – Cleaned kitchen. Made big breakfast. Went to store. Carol & Elaine went to Cox’s. Went to K-Mart. Elaine got top. Stan & I went bowling. Elaine wrapped Barbara’s gift.

Sun – Nice day. Made spaghetti sauce. Went to South Park for Barbara’s wedding reception. Kids went swimming. Dave went to ballgame. Elaine to St. Paulina’s picnic.

Mon – Washed clothes. Worked puzzle. Went to store. Bill H. came out. Went to Sears. Went to town to get Carol. Elaine stayed over at Andrea’s. Rainstorms.

Tue – Worked letter puzzle. Made Texas sheet cake. Ironed. Elaine & Andrea picked berries. Fixed them. Typed puzzle. Watched movie on TV “Cimarron Strip”. Dave Conklin slept over.

Wed – Carol broke news she was getting married. Called Eleanor. Greg Kiel. Came out. Boys cleaned cellar. Took mower to get fixed. Called about Sunnyhill. Frank worked 1^st day.

Thu – Called Eleanor about Carol. Straightened house. Dave took Elaine to get glasses. Called Helen.

1972

Sun – Put load of clothes in washer. Went with Stan to Gobbies. Relaxed. Stan went in to see Bill H. (car trouble). Kids got baths. Worked crosswords.

Mon – Hot & humid. Washed clothes. Went to First Federal of Homestead, Zayre & Eastland. Kids played tennis. Stan went to see John Marks. Bill H. stopped out.

Tue – Made spaghetti sauce early. Cut out Julie’s dress. Took kids up to Hydro Carbide. Went to Keystone Lake. Nice. Stopped at Payday’s. Blocked in. Home late.

Wed – Hot & humid. Drained pool. Scrubbed it. Kids cut grass. Picked & fixed beans. Elaine worked. Bill took car for check up. Heavy pollution.

Thu – Hot & humid. Marion called. Washed clothes. Kids cleaned pool. Put in new water. Cut out Julie’s pant suit. Went to store. Got new fan & material. Frank went swimming at Clairton.

Fri – Kids cleaned. Elaine went to dairy for me. I went to K-Mart & Thorofare. Hot. Went swimming in back pool. Elaine & Carol talked on phone. Relaxed on back porch.

Sat – Hot. Cleaned living room. Washed clothes. Carol & Jim came. Took Chrysler. Jim fixed it. Cut out Carol’s material. Started to sew dress. Carol & Jim came back again. Ivan cut front grass.

1973

Mon – Washed clothes. Swept cellar. Dave mopped. Elaine took kids to Lake Yough. Fixed soup & Kentucky Fried. Got milk & Greg tennis shoes. Phil Weingart stopped. Elaine home in time.

Tue – Took Greg to school. Went to store. Sewed Carol’s dress. Had steak & mushrooms. Bill H. stopped out. Frank came home. Finished Carol’s dress. Dave went to political meeting.

Wed – Took Greg to school. Frank took Dave to Oakland (political). Took kids to South Park. Went to store. Cut out bathing suit. Visited Mrs. Ramsey & Jean Enswiller.

Thu – Took Greg to school. Washed clothes. Sewed swimsuit. Ironed & put away. Went to Frank’s game. (tie). Bill & Frank worked on Datsun.

Fri – Took Greg – last day. Kids cleaned. Cleaned kitchen. Finished suit. Went to store. Played cards.

Sat – Kids went for ping pong drop. Julie got yo-yo. Light rain. Dave helped. Bill at shop. Washed clothes.

Sun – Kids started arguing over Monopoly. Made coffee cake. Bob H. stopped out with friend. Talked about go-carts. Dave went to Pgh. Frank had game. Ivan cut front grass.
