November 19-25, 1969-1973

1969

Wed- School. Cleaned out kitchen cupboard under sink. Cleaned stove. Went to Bartolattas.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Went to Plaidland & Top Value. Stan went to dentist. Fixed chicken. Took Greg to dentist. Stan went bowling. Cut out Stan’s pajamas.

Fri – School. Sewed Stan’s pjs. Made apple Betty & beef roast. Elaine & Dave went to class play. Frank went to dance.

Sat – Washed clothes. Went to store. Wendy came then came back for supper. Cleaned kitchen. Met Mrs. Morris. Had spaghetti & whipped cream cake.

Sun – Stan had to work. Read paper. Fixed pineapple. Took kids to Al’s. Typed Elaine’s theme. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Took Julie to baby clinic. Ironed clothes. Baked cup cakes for cub scouts. Dave took Harry & Ivan up. Typed for Elaine.

Tue – School. Mended. Sewed Elaine’s nightgown. Took boys swimming at Clairton. Shopped around Clairton.

1970

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Took Julie to baby clinic. Stopped at store. Took Stan bowling. Went to Eastland.

Fri – School. Cleaned out china closet. Washed dishes. Cleaned kitchen. Baked cake & rolls. Stan & I went to class play “Time Out for Ginger”.

Sat – Washed clothes. Iced cake. Made chicken soup. Went to store. Carol went to Patty Monahan’s wedding. Bill went to Wendy’s. Elaine had class play then went to party at Conklin’s.

Sun – Stan worked. Dave went to Lutheran Church. Then to Civic Arena – Career Opportunity. Made cream puffs. Fixed roast with mushrooms & onions.

Mon – School. Frank home sick. Washed clothes. Folded & ironed. Went to store. Changed sheets. Took Harry, Ivan & Julie to Pack meeting. Stan went bowling.

Tue – Elaine home – swollen lip. First snow. Made pies – pumpkin & apple. Cut out material. Went to Bartolattas & K-Mart.

Wed – School. Sewed dress & apron. Chopped stuffing. Watched TV. Stan sick. Called Stella.

1971

Fri – School. Cleaned living room & kitchen. Rain & turning colder. Elaine got ready for LRY rally. Bill took her to bus station. Watched TV. Bed early.

Sat – Slept late. Washed clothes. Kids cleaned. Don Schieman visited. Went to store. Frank was at Conklin’s. Watched TV. Carol & Jim stopped by with pictures.

Sun – Dave & Bill worked. Read paper. Stan took kids to Giant-Steelers football game. Visited Pap & picked up Elaine. Made pudding cake. Picked up boys after game – cold. Bill H. came out. Told about trip west.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Bundled papers. Snow. Everybody home late. Went to store.

Tue – School. Greg home sick. Cut down yellow gown. Made puff sleeves. Dave took Plymouth for tune-up. Stan home very late. Made rolls. Dave got tickets for football game.

Wed – School. Made yeast rolls. Washed clothes. Straightened house. Snowed. Went to store. Stan not home til 7:30. Shoveled.

Thu – No school. Stuffed turkey. Fixed table. Carol & Jim came. Brought pie & pictures of wedding. Kids drew names. Snow melted.

1972

Sun – Worked on lady locks. Frank drove me to Haines. Stan worked at shop. Fixed roast. Cleaned up. Went to Linda Gubala’s shower. Poured rain. (Got towels). Stopped at Stella’s.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Ironed. Swept & mopped cellar. Made tapioca. Worked crosswords. Typed up invoices.

Tue – School. Mended. Made apple pies & pumpkin pies. Refrigerated pumpkin pies. Bill & Frank went to shop.

Wed – School. Straightened house & went to store. Got David at school. Dave washed clothes. Chopped up veg. for stuffing.

Thu – Thanksgiving. Stuffed turkey. Fixed vegetables. Straightened house. Carol & Jim came. Carol brought flowers (yellow carnations). Had good dinner. Drew names.

Fri – No school. Greg worked football contest. Sunshine day. Took Frank for drivers test – failed. Elaine had Jay here for supper. Dave & Elaine made foursome. Went shopping. Stan went to library.

Sat – Washed clothes (lots). Ironed. Kids cleaned. Elaine’s friend (Jay) came for supper. Lemon meat loaves & orange cake. Elaine took Fr for driver’s test –passed. Went to K-Mart. Carol took I & J shopping.

1973

Mon – Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Changed sheets. Car wouldn’t start. Stan put on battery charger. Stan went to Carbide Eng. Called Mary.

Tue – School. Couldn’t get car started. Harry home sick. Started car. Took Ivan to dental clinic. Stopped with Elaine’s boxes. Went to store. David came home (bus). Frank picked him up.

Wed – School. Dave took Julie to dental clinic. Stopped to get Elaine. Car overheated. Made pumpkin pies. Washed clothes, cleaned. Fixed things for stuffing.

Thu – Up early. Fixed stuffing & put turkey in oven at 9:00. Fixed table. Went to Grants. Carol came. Jim stayed home to study. Bill cooked at Carol Kampert’s. Had big dinner. Did dishes.

Fri – Took Julie to see Santa & get free sleigh ride. Went to store. Had left-overs. Went to K-Mart. Tired.

Sat – Washed clothes. Stan went to Dr. Got groceries. Made spaghetti. Straightened house. Carol & Jim went with Dad & Dave bowling. Elaine, Greg & I played pinochle.

Sun – Marion called. Baked cake. Elaine washed clothes. Made roast. Dan Arico came. Stayed for supper. Played cards (bridge).
