November 12 - November 18, 1969-1973

1969

Wed- School. Carol took car. Straightened living room. Washed down kitchen walls. Carol had date with Jim (Mellon Bank teller). Figured bills. Sorted mail.

Thu – School. Packed kids lunch. Washed clothes. Julie & I went to town. Got new dress, slip. Went to K-Mart & Thorofare. Eleanor came out. Went to Acme for order.

Fri – School. Snow. Altered my dress. Washed hair. Shoveled snow. Stan & I went to Carbide Engineers Party. Got travel clock & salad set.

Sat – Tired. Washed clothes. Carol & I went to store. Carol went to wedding. Stan got snow tires for Buick. Listened to records. Buildt fire. Carol stayed overnight.

Sun – Slept late. Drove to Dormont to get Carol. Stopped at Haines. Stan put up drain pipe in back. Watched TV. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. G missed bus. Drove him. Washed clothes. Went to K-Mart. Ironed clothes. Bill H. came out. Went back to K-Mart.

Tue – School. Wrote checks & wrote Bill. Took Mrs. Iames to Hospital. Made baked chicken. Went to bookmobile & Acme. Stan went bowling.

1970

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Burned rubbish. Ironed. Changed sheets. Swept & mopped cellar. Went to Foodland. Bill took Stan bowling. Drove out to get him.

Fri – School. Went to bank & store. Went for salt & to Plaidland. Sewed Elaine’s white blouse. Watched “Guns of Navarrone”. Michael Marks killed – auto accident (age 19).

Sat – Washed clothes. Stan took things to Fireman’s sale. Tried to bake cake “too dark”. Dave took Harry to get glasses. Took Harry shopping. Got new shoes (H). Carol got new carpeting – dining room.

Sun – Dave went to WM Baptist Church. Read paper. Made meat loaf. Drove Stan to Pap’s. Visited Dad. Went to funeral home – M. Marks. Dave & Elaine went to LRY.

Mon – School. Cold. Washed clothes. Mrs. Norris & Ruth Fleischer called. Bee Bee came over. Took salad to Mike Marks funeral. Fixed roast & baked apples. Cleaned stove & oven. Stan went bowling.

Tue – School. Drove Carol to work. Julie & I went to Eastland. Went to S & H redemption Rug (dining room) delivered. Stan went to Dr-eye. Went to store.

Wed – School. Made rolled cookies. Mopped cellar. Made rigatoni. Kids helped move out furn from dining room. Stan cut carpeting. Dave sent application to Indiana. Crocheted.

1971

Fri – School. Didn’t feel good. Stan worked on tar on back porch. I cleaned living room. Played cards with Ivan.

Sat – Ivan was sick. Kids cleaned. Stan had luncheon interview. Washed clothes. Went to K-Mart & Thorofare.

Sun – Elaine went to church. Nice day. Baked cake. Went to Haines. Stan & kids put up outside lights. Dave went to McGovern rally. Elaine went to LRY. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Stan’s first day work at Hydro-Carbide. Long trip. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Stan went bowling. Went to K-Mart & Thorofare.

Tue – School. Sewed Elaine’s hot pants. Called Pat Cocuzzi. Went to Penney’s. Stan home late. Relaxed in evening. Worked on yellow dress.

Wed – School. Stan home. Called on phone. Ivan got report card. Washed clothes. Folded & ironed. Took walk. Didn’t feel well. Called Helen.

Thu – School. Frank home sick. Made pumpkin cookies & bread. Still feeling lousy. Bill took Ivan to gym. Went to store. Ivan tried to walk home. Stopped at Mrs. Fried.

1972

Sun – Read paper. Marion called. Elaine came home from rally. Went to work. No job. Typed Greg’s paper. Typed invoices. Helen called (Linda getting married). Watched TV “True Grit”.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept and mopped cellar. Rolled up hoses. Changed sheets. Bill didn’t get check. Read paper. Went to bed early.

Tue – School. Went to bank & store. Went to school. Got pictures. Mounted pictures. Took kids to McDonalds & K-Mart. Bill & Fr. went to shop. Cut out coupons.

Wed – School. Straightened house. Greg home sick. Went to store. Went to school to put up pictures (of Fathers). Had PTA meeting. Mr. Weir. Good attendance.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Called on phone. Stan, Bill & Fr. went to shop. Baked cookies. Crocheted. Kids got report cards. Watched “The Waltons”.

Fri – School. Worked football contests. Cleaned living room & kitchen. Washed 1 bedroom window. Bill tried to start truck. Battery dead. Played cards.

Sat – Washed clothes. Kids cleaned. Washed bedroom windows & put up storm windows. Carol came. Took Elaine to Jane’s apt. Took me to store Fixed dough for lady locks. Got new battery – truck.

1973

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Changed sheets. Washed kitchen curtains. Straightened house. Crocheted & watched TV.

Tue – Started to wash kitchen windows. Took Ivan to dental clinic. Went to Kroger, couldn’t get car started (ignition). Made spaghetti sauce & beef burgundy. Called Carol.

Wed – School. Harry home sick. Made pumpkin log. Straightened mail. Took Greg to dental clinic. Picked up Elaine late. Went to store. Drove Elaine back.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Straightened house. Kids got report cards. Drove Greg to work & got him, too. Bill broke glasses.

Fri – School. Cleaned kitchen. Went to bank & store. Cleaned living room & bedroom. Carol came out. Light snow. Played cards.

Sat – Washed clothes. Went to store. Kids cleaned. Bill went to Dr. Siegels. Dan Arico came. We all talked until late at night.

Sun – Read paper. Bill, Stan & I had go rounds about shares of company. Frank had friends over. Made apple pie & meatloaf. Kids got baths.
