November 13 - 19, 1964-1968

1964

Fri – School. Called Stella, Laura Dee & Grace Pavelko. Ironed clothes, burned rubbish. Took David & Frank to Clairton & TJ football game. Clairton won (33-14).

Sat – Slept. Took Carol, Frank, Greg to dentist. Went shopping. Bill cut wood for B.S. Elaine went to Shubacks. Valerie came over. Kids cut out Xmas cards. Baked cookies. Kids got baths.

Sun – Didn’t go to SS or church. Made French Toast. Stan & I went to store. Cleaned kitchen & bathroom. Bill went to Charlie’s for cook-out. Relaxed. Played cards. Elaine made fudge.

Mon – School. Rainy day. Frank stayed home sick. Washed clothes. Hung indoors. Straightened house. Cleaned bath & kitchen. Went to Kelly & Cohen. Put money down on TV.

Tue – School. Folded clothes & ironed & mended. Baked cookies & cup cakes. Read paper & crocheted.

Wed – School. Hot lunch. Grand pa came out. Fixed front walk. Cleaned cellar. Stan & I went to Southland. Compared TV prices. Stan fixed sweeper. Elaine’s sore on leg infected.

Thu – School. Rain. Washed clothes. Made cherry dessert and custard & baked chicken. Called LS. Police came to take away Ford for Associates. Felt terrible. Ironed clothes.

1965

Sat – Dad came out. Worked on shelves. Took Bill, Harry & I to dentist. Had early supper. Carol & I went to South Hills Village. Bought toys and material for skirt.

Sun – Went to SS. Harry, Ivan, Carol & I. Stopped at store. Played cards with kids. Gave boys haircuts. Stan worked on bathroom. Cut out Carol’s skirt. Stan went to see Mom.

Mon – School. Washed hair. Cleaned bathroom & kitchen. Called about Stan’s suit. Stan went to Carbidie Engineers meeting. Home late.

Tue – School. Rainy day. Washed clothes. Hung indoors. Went to Dorothy Bilan’s with PTA money. Too late at bank. Went to Clabers & Southland. Ironed clothes. Got Bill from work.

Wed – School. Sewed Carol’s skirt, dickey & hairband. Watched TV.

Thu – School. Took Ford down to garage. Cleaned kitchen & bath. Went to Tops. Gained ½ lb. Stopped at store. Had election of officers for Tops.

Fri – School. Cleaned bedrooms. Went to school to give PTA cards. Fixed pot roast. Washed clothes in eve. Played cards with kids. Watched TV. Called Mom.

1966

Sun – Didn’t go to SS. Knitted & read paper. Stan took Dave to football game (Steelers 30 – Cardinals 9). Washed upstairs windows & put up storm windows. Watched TV. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Went up to school to get Bill. Not going to sign up for service. Made cheesecake. Folded & ironed. Changed sheets. Stan went bowling.

Tue – School. Washed living room & kitchen windows. Put up storm windows. Went to Casanelli’s & got storm door window. Knitted & watched TV.

Wed – School. Washed clothes & drapes. Went to store. Fixed supper. Ironed. Ironed & hung drapes.

Thu – School. Cleaned cellar & cellar windows. Cut & washed hair. Grade school kids home early. Pillow covers delivered. Crocheted edge on pillow case. Watched TV.

Fri – School. Lazy day. Baked cake. Julie fussy. Knitted. Watched TV. Called Stella.

Sat – Kids helped me clean house. Went to store. Fixed supper. Washed clothes in eve. & hung inside. Stan exchanged blue tile & got tile for downstairs bathroom.

1967

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Hung sheets & diapers outside. Big washing. Mailed Bill’s package & went to store. Stan went to Carbidie meeting. Ironed. Light snow.

Tue – School. Harry home sick. Ironed & folded clothes. Went to store. Left Julie & Harry home. Mended clothes. Carol went to Baldwin High (FBLA). Went to bookmobile.

Wed – School. Harry home again. Cut out nighties. Sewed Stan’s sport coat. Straightened the house. Stan went to management meeting. Roxy here for dinner. Played flute.

Thu – Wrote to Bill. School. Washed clothes. Sewer trouble again. Mended. Changed sheets. Went to Tops (+4 ½) Picked Carol up from gym.

Fri – School. Gregory home sick. Folded & Ironed clothes. Read magazines. School had square dance. Didn’t go. Watched TV. Started Frank’s sweater.

Sat – Took shower & went to Kroger. Went to Eastland. Children cleaned. Fixed supper & went to K-Mart. Stan worked. Watched TV & knitted.

Sun – Stan had to work. Went to church. Sat with L.D. Went to store. Fixed cream puffs & coleslaw. Stan went back to work after supper.

1968

Wed – Washed clothes. Went back to Western Auto. Got retreads for Plymouth. Knitted booties for PTA. Bill H. came out.

Thu – Made cookies for PTA. Packed booties. Dad came out & visited. Stan went bowling. Went to PTA. Bazaar & open house.

Fri – Frank & Harry home sick. Dave & Elaine had half day. Went around for school census. Rain. Watched TV. Went to bank & store.

Sat – Rain. Washed clothes. Stan worked half day. Went to Bartolattas. Stan & Dave laid drain pipe & down spout. Carol & I went to Caste Village. Carol & Elaine went to Eastland. Stan & I went to Papa & Caroline’s.

Sun – Gray day. Dave laid brick along top. Stan & Harold Knoll did welding & put on sheeting. Fixed custard. Cut out shirts & vest.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Went to store. Stan went bowling. Finished up survey. Went to Sears & bread store.

Tue – School. Sewed Elaine’s shirt, vest & shorts & Carol’s skirt. Knitted.
