November 6 - 12, 1964 - 1968

1964

Fri – School. Cleaned house. No water. Leak on Rt. 885. Baked & iced cookies. Grandpa came out to show movies. Boy Scout gang watched. Projector broke. Stan went to Henry’s.

Sat – Stan worked. Went shopping. Knitted & sewed Carol’s red petti pants. Got Bill’s & Dave’s shoes on lay-away.

Sun – Stayed home from church. Went to store. Stan & Bill chopped tree down. Fixed early supper. Went to Dad’s to see movies. Bill & Ivan stayed home. Stopped in to see Mom & Pap.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Hung outside but foggy & damp. Gregory home for lunch, late. Folded clothes. Went to store.

Tue – School. Ironed clothes. Took Ivan & Harry to shopping center. Bought new shoes & stuff for Ivan’s birthday. Eve. Got order & picked up boy’s shoes. Salesman here about furnace cleaning Got angry.

Wed – School. Dad came out. Went to Frank’s & Elaine’s room. Lunch. Left Ivan home with Dad. Went to PTA board meeting & visited Greg & David’s room. Decorated Ivan’s cake. Had presents. Took kids to scout meeting.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Windy. Folded clothes. Went to bank, to bread store, shoemaker, & Haines. In eve, started to iron. Stan & I took radio back to Horne’s, looked around. Bought new one.

1965

Sat – Dad came out. Painted the ceiling of upstairs bathroom. Took Bill & Carol to dentist. Watched TV. Kids got baths. Stan got Bill from work.

Sun – Went to SS. Frank, Harry, Ivan, Carol & I. Stopped at store. Read paper. Washed hair. Carol cut & washed Elaine’s hair. Called Mom. Stan worked on bathroom floor.

Mon – School. Didn’t wash clothes. Cleaned house. Stan came home early. Tired. Fixed steak & fr. fries. Watched TV.

Tue – School. Washed clothes. Stan & Greg stayed home. Ironed & folded clothes. Took Bill to work. Went to bookmobile & bread store. Went to PTA at Valley. Modern Mathematics.

Wed – School. Cut out & sewed Elaine’s bathrobe. Went to store for order.

Thu – School. Baked birthday cake. Took Harry & Ivan to South Hills Village. Bought toys & balloons. Went to Tops. Lost 2 lbs. Gave Stan haircut.

Fri – School. Washed clothes. Folded & ironed. Carol & I went to PTA card party. Won pixie bow tier. Stan went to Henry’s to play cards.

1966

Sun – Went to SS. Played piano for adults. Harry & Ivan went to. Ironed & put away clothes. Stan went to see Mom. Fixed steak for supper.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Hung inside. Stan home sick. Went to store. Fixed chicken soup & fruit cup. Watched TV & knitted.

Tue – School. Took Ivan & Julie & went to PP clinic. Got insertion. Home. Fixed pie & roast. Had good supper. Rainy day. Ironed. Went to vote. Called Mom.

Wed – School. Hot lunch. Just Greg stayed. Washed hair. Cleaned out all kitchen cabinets. Went to store for order.

Thu – School. Greg stayed home. Washed clothes. Had to take them down in rain. Bob H. stopped for supper. Stan went bowling with Bob, Bill, Dave & Frank. Went to PTA card party. Won Spaghetti dinner & dish.

Fri – No school. Carol went to work with Stan. Did big ironing. Made birthday cake. Went shopping. Stan didn’t feel well. Carol went to ballgame. Stayed overnight with Suzy M. TJ 13 – Monessen 20.

Sat – Had bad time with Bill. Washed clothes. Kids helped clean house. Baked turnovers. Ironed. Stan told Bill to join service. Watched TV. Stan got Carol at Suzy’s. Got lost.

1967

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Cold. Hung sheets & diapers outside. Clothes line broke. Water King man came. Stan went bowling. Went to Middle School for open house. (First snow 4:16AM)

Tue – School. Washed hair. Ironed clothes. Straightened house. Made two layers pudding. Went to K-Mart. Got slippers for Helen. Knitted. Carol babysat.

Wed – School. Hot lunch day. Swept cellar. Mopped & washed storm door. Knitted. Finished 2^nd mitten & started scarf Didn’t go to TJ – PTA.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Finished knitting head band for school. Made cookies for Bill. Packed them. Went to Valley PTA. Bought fudge, etc. Visited teachers.

Fri – School. Ironed. Got kids dressed. Went to First Federal in Clairton & A&P. Fixed lunch. Folded clothes. Took watch to Mrs. Iames. Baked pies. Made macaroni & cheese & pork chops. Stan went to bank. Watched TV.

Sat – Up early. Baked Ivan’s birthday cake. Cleaned kitchen. Went to town. Got clothes & shoes. Visited at Hatfield’s. Home for supper. Birthday for Ivan. Got shirts, pjs, tools, clock, match box car.

Sun – Took Harry, Ivan & Julie to SS. Went to store. Read paper. Stan watched football on TV. Went to Mom’s & then Dad’s Cut Stan & Dave’s hair. Carol trimmed others. Kids got baths.

1968

Wed – School. Rain. Washed clothes. Washed drapes & windows in girls bedroom. Ironed. Carol went to dinner & demonstration. Took kids to store.

Thu – School. Rainy day. Made cookies to send to Bill. Packed them. Made cream puffs. Carol went out for dinner. Stan went bowling.

Fri – School. Washed clothes & did boys room drapes & storm windows. Went to store. Carol missed bus. Went to Dads to get her. Stopped at Caroline’s.

Sat – Carol worked. Washed clothes. Cleaned kitchen windows & put up storm windows. Ironed. Stan home early. Had Ralph Antonelli see about electricity.

Sun – Stan made connection for welder & welded rods. Started decking. David made hole for last bean & laid top brick. Cleaned kitchen & bedroom. Cut out Carol’s robe. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Harry home sick. Ivan took candy bars to school. Washed clothes. Sewer came up & how! Went to Sears. Fixed birthday cake. Ivan got trousers, kerplink, snof-pics. Stan went to Carbidie Eng. Carol went to store & school open house. Had flat.

Tue – School. Snow. Went to Western Auto. Busy. Home again. Ironed & mended. Went back to Western Auto & went shopping. Fellow got broken arm.
