October 16 - 22, 1964-1968

1964

Fri – School. Cleaned bath, kitchen & bedrooms. Baked cakes. Made chop suey. Took Ivan & Harry & Stan & I went to see Mom. Dave & Elaine went to football game.

Sat – Stan’s day off. Made cement for drain catch basin. Bill cut trees. Cleaned living room. Went to shopping center. Big crowd. Played cards with kids. Kids got baths.

Sun – Didn’t go to SS or church. Stan work on driveway, drain pipe. Mrs. Bucik called & Laura Dee called. Had roast chicken. Had tooth ache.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Rain. Went to Laundromat to dry clothes. Exchanged Bill’s trousers. Went to Haines. Went to dentist (sinus trouble). Eve. doctored. Stan worked on new game.

Tue – School. Made piorogies & kapusta. Ironed & mended. Colder. Stan built fire, went to bookmobile and played his new game. Carol had cheerleading practice.

Wed –School. Hot lunch. Dad came out. Worked on upstairs storm windows. Whitewashed log in driveway. I cut out dress & sewed. Stan showed us his game. Stella, Bill & kids came out.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Hung indoors. Made soup, fried potatoes lunch. Did dishes. Took Ivan & Harry with me to K-mart. Grand Opening. Terrible crowd. Got Carol at cheerleading practice. Relaxed & ironed.

1965

Sat – Dad came out. Cleaned up bathroom. I washed windows & put up storm windows upstairs. Carol went to dance. Stan got Carol & Bill from work.

Sun – Went to SS. Nice day. Washed clothes. Kids cut grass. Stan worked on tile. Finished Elaine’s mitten. Mended. Watched TV.

Mon – School. Dave stayed home. Ironed clothes. Went to the store. Lost Ivan again. Stan went to Carbidie meeting. Bill worked. Took walk. Cut out pjs for Stan.

Tue – School. David home again. Cleaned bathtub & sink. Sewed me a half slip. Started Stan’s pjs. Called on phone for PTA. Went to bookmobile.

Wed – School. Hot lunch day. Washed clothes. Folded & ironed. Talked to Laura Dee about X-mas party. Watched TV.

Thu – School. Went to school for PTA. Elaine hurt. Took her to hospital for x-rays. Went to store & Clabers opening. Tops meeting at Pleasant Hills. I lost 4 ½. Called Dad & Mary Narvin.

Fri – School. Rainy day. Frank didn’t go on field trip. Cleaned house. Stan worked late. Baked cookies.

1966

Sun – Ivan, Harry & I went to SS. Stopped at store. Stan took old Ford for run. Read. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Hung outside & in. Changed sheets. Baked pastries. Stan went bowling. Bobby Hatfield called. Home from Europe. Watched TV.

Tue – School. Folded & put away. Mended. Started new dress. Baked cake. Went to store. Put Carol’s coat on lay away. Bobby H. came out with Fred Brum and his wife. Called Pat Cocuzzi.

Wed – School. Hot lunch day. Gave Julie bath. Sewed my dress. Gearshift on new Ford broke. Bill worked. Took Carol to see coat on lay-away. Looked at toys.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Hung outside. Folded. Changed sheets. Cleaned out sweeper bags. Went to Tops. Had guest speaker from Dairy Asso.

Fri – School. Straightened up. Vanscoy man pumped out septic tank. Washed Ivan’s window and hung drapes. Went to store.

Sat – Stan worked. Carol took pre-SAT test. Went to football game. TJ 14- Churchill 6. Cleaned house. Kids helped. Bob H. & Dad came out. Bill brought Bob Malone & Marie. Visited.

1967

Mon – School. Elaine home sick. Water all over cellar floor. Fuse blown. Took clothes to Laundromat. Didn’t get all dry. Hung outside. Stan went bowling. Ironed clothes.

Tue – School. Elaine still home. Ironed clothes. Went to school to get E’s books. Went to store. Made stuffing, cole slaw & tapioca. Sewed the hem on Carol’s coat.

Wed – School. Elaine still home. Drove Carol & kids to school. Went to Grants & Bartolottas. Made cherry cake with whipped icing. Made meat balls. Stan went to McKeesport dinner & meeting. Knitted.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Hung inside. Changed sheets. Went to Tops (-2). Had new girls.

Fri – School. Ironed & folded clothes. Cleaned kitchen. Baked chicken. Suzy M. came to stay overnight. All watched Star Trek.

Sat – Washed clothes. Washed bedroom windows & storm windows. Washed drapes. Stan fixed car (body work). Carol & Elaine went to ballgame (TJ 34 – Laurel Highlands 6)

Sun – Took Ivan to SS. Went to store. Read paper. Watched movie on TV. Stan watched football. Made ravioli. Got out Halloween costumes. Kids got showers & baths.

1968

Wed – School. Washed clothes. Picked apples. Made pies. Made galumpkies. Watched TV.

Thu – School. Took shower & washed hair. Washed clothes & straightened house. Finished Carol’s shorts. Dad came out. Ironed. Stan went bowling & Carol went shopping. Bill H. came out with logs.

Fri – School. Carol took Corvair to go to Indiana State Teachers to visit Jane. Cut out & sewed my dress. Went to bank & store.

Sat – Stan had to work. Washed clothes & ironed. Cleaned kitchen. Went to store. Stan got heavy duty drill.

Sun – Read paper. Baked cake. Stan drilled more holes. Put in aluminum stripping in front. Watched TV & knitted.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Went to Kramers. Got plants for front. Started to plant. Stan went bowling. Went to K-Mart.

Tue – School. Finished sewing Elaine’s sweater. Made Jell-O & cheese cake dessert. Finished putting hosta in front. Went to Kroger & Bartolotta’s. Got letter from Bill.
