October 9 - 15, 1964-1968

1964

Fri – No school. Teacher’s institute. Took D, E, F, G, H & I with me to visit Martha Snyder. Nice trip. Home for supper. Went to Haines for order.

Sat – Cleaned house. Stan had to work. Went to bank & shopping. Bought pjs. We all got cleaned up. Went to Dad’s for birthday dinner. Watched TV. Home early.

Sun – Didn’t go to SS or church. Had cold. Stan worked on trees. Cut tree for driveway. Started wall for hill. Carol came home. Kids got baths. Played cards.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Hung outside. Folded clothes. Baked cake for Valerie’s mother. Eve. Ironed clothes. Mended. Stan went to Engineer’s meeting. I called Laura Dee.

Tue – School. Didn’t go to derm. Doctor. Fixed apples & baked apple pies. Went to PP clinic. Went to bank & picked up storm windows at Plotkins. Went to bookmobile.

Wed – School. Dad came out. We worked on hill. Planted strawberries. Crocheted. Read. Went to Haines.

Thu – School. Hot lunch day. Washed clothes. Ivan got black in fertilizer. Baked rolls & made soup. Bathed Ivan & Harry. Folded clothes. Watered strawberries. Made beds. Did snow coupon.

1965

Sat – Dad came out. Ran errands. Went to bank, Black Angus, Busy Beaver, Davis Bothers. Carol & Bill went to football game. Bill went to dance at school.

Sun – Went to SS. C, H & I went with me. Stopped at store. Read papers & knitted Elaine’s mitten. Stan worked on tile. Stan got Bill from work.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Rained. Had to re-hang indoors. Baked cake. Had steak dinner. Went to PTA at high school. Open house. Stan worked on tile.

Tue – School. Ironed clothes. Went down school. Fixed membership leaves. Gave Stan & all boys haircuts. Watched TV. Stan got Bill from work.

Wed – School. Hot lunch day. L. Dee called. Cut & washed hair. Cleaned kitchen & bath. Made cream puffs. Cut Bill’s hair. Took Bill to work (at 7:00) & went to store.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Ironed & folded. Went to TOPS in Pleasant Hills. Called Mary Ellen Cylenica. Worked on snow coupons.

Fri – School. Ivan sick. Cleaned house. Started head cold. Bill started bowling. Took Carol, Roberta Klaus & Bill to ballgame at Bethel (TJ 13 – Bethel 12).

1966

Sun – Didn’t go to SS. Fixed big brunch. Stan did repair jobs around house. Went to store. Knitted. Watched TV & kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Nice drying day. Stan went bowling. Fixed spaghetti. Took Carol to usher at PTA. Went back later. Visited teachers. Stan got bowling shirt.

Tue – School. Ironed clothes. Mended. Baked angel food with whipped icing. Went to store. Stan took old Ford to Southside. I came in new Ford. We went to see Grandma.

Wed – School. Slept late. Fixed apples and baked apple pies. Grace Pavelko called. Stuffed chickens & baked. Stan took E-F-G-H-I skating at Bethel.

Thu – School. Laura Dee called. Washed clothes. Grace called. Folded & put away. Stan & I went to Southside to get old Ford. Stopped at Haines.

Fri – School. Ironed & straightened house. Dad came out. Showed birthday cards & presents. Carol brought Roberta Klaus home for supper. Carol & Roberta went to football game. TJ 20 – Monongahela 0.

Sat – Very nice day. Washed clothes & drapes. Washed my bedroom windows & put up storm windows. Played cards. Took bath.

1967

Mon – Washed clothes. Raining. Took clothes to Laundromat. Stan went bowling. Baked apples. Elaine made coffee cake. Made pecan cookies. Read magazines. Watched TV.

Tue – Cleaned out refrigerator. Went to bank & Kroger. Fixed lunch. Ironed clothes. Mended. Went to store. Bought light for cellar. Bill H. here. Helped Stan put up light.

Wed – School. Hot lunch day. Sewed upholstery of Buick. Made coffee whip & brownies. Had sauerkraut and wieners. Went to store. Ruth Fleischer called. Carol got FBLA kit.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Changed sheets. Hung outside & some in.

Fri – Ironed clothes. Grace P. called. Picked tomatoes and strawberries. Made cream whip. Carol went to ballgame (TJ 52 – Monon. 7) Carol slept at Roxey’s. Elaine babysat Elders. Home late. Cut grass.

Sat – Knitted. Stan slept. Went to the store. Cleaned house. Kids helped. Carol babysat Watko’s. Elaine made fudge. I made nut bread.

Sun – Took Ivan & Julie to SS. Stan, Dave, Harry, Ivan & I went to Carnegie Library & Museum. Stopped at Mom’s. Watched TV. Kids got baths. Stan & I took showers.

1968

Wed – No school. Teacher’s institute. Stan home, too. Tired. Went to Gimbel’s. Bought ahead for X-mas. Stan took cake to church for Sibyl’s funeral. Dad called. Aunt Lavina & Uncle Ray visiting. Went to K-Mart for bike tires. Bill H. here for supper.

Thu – No school. Washed clothes. Corvair wouldn’t start. Had to push. Went to K-Mart to get battery. Home again. Started supper. Went back to K-Mart. Got shocks, tire rods & stabilizers. Stan went bowling. Picked up car.

Fri – No school. Made bread crumbs. Cleaned kitchen. Dave cleaned dining room. Carol & I went to store. Carol got material. Saw Henschels. Worked snow coupons.

Sat – Stan had to work. Ironed clothes. Cleaned bedroom. Went to store. Went to Iame’s. Kids cut grass. Worked on aluminum stripping in front yard. TJ 21 – EF 7.

Sun – Julie up early. Fixed eggs & toast. Stan tried to punch out holes for beams in garage. Baked cake Made stuffing & baked chicken. Rook kids to Al’s. Carol sewed dress.

Mon – Very foggy. Papers came late. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Swept dining room & kitchen. Ironed & mended. Stan went bowling. Carol went shopping.

Tue – School. Made beds & cleaned refrigerator. Went to store. Worked outside & rested. Stan home late. Visited Dorothy Iames. Knitted. Joe Glew & Mike Z. store Frank & Harry’s bikes.
