October 23 - 29, 1964-1968

1964

Fri – School. Folded clothes. Iced cake. Mended. Cleaned cellar & mopped. Eve. Went shopping. Toothache.

Sat – Face swollen. Went to Dr. Charlton. Carol & kids cleaned. I cleaned bathroom, kitchen & dining room. Played cards. Kids got baths. Called L. Dee.

Sun –Didn’t go to SS or church. Stan worked on driveway. Fixed roast & read. Mom called. Relaxed in eve.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Hung outside. Ivan sick. Sewed cover on Carol’s quilt. Folded clothes. Went to K-Mart. Took Gregory & Harry.

Tue – School. Ivan still sick. Baked cake & fixed salad. Ironed clothes, cleaned house. Got Carol & Diane at practice. Diane Mairson stayed for supper. Children got sick. Drove Diane home. Stopped at Penney’s.

Wed – School. Kids sick. Carol, Bill, David & Frank stayed home. Dad came out. Washed windows. Put up storm windows. Read book about Pgh. Went to Haines & Krogers. Saw girls I went to school with.

Thu – School. Frank stayed home. Washed clothes. Fixed apple pies. Ironed. Made beds. Picked up Carol at cheerleading finals. Fixed Halloween costumes.

1965

Sat – Dad didn’t come out. Took kids to dentist. Football game cancelled. Baked pies. Mom called. Kraus brought over Roberta & Susan Hatfield. Took girls to dance. Kids got baths.

Sun – Went to SS. Carol, Ivan, Harry & I. Defrosted refrigerator. Started booties for Helen’s baby. Stan didn’t feel well. Relaxed & watched TV.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Baked cake. Took Harry, Frank & Ivan to dental clinic to get teeth cleaned. Folded & changed sheets. Went to store for order. Called Stella.

Tue – School. Frank had field trip (Ft. Necessity) Ironed clothes. Went to bank & Kroger. Had sore throat. Grace Pavelko called. Took Bill to work. Went to bread store & bookmobile.

Wed – School. Felt terrible. Sore throat. Cleaned out sweepers & sewing machine. Ladies came for Fuller Brush. Knitted booties.

Thu – School. Laura Dee came with dress for Ivan. Cleaned kitchen & bath. Eleanor came out. Took bill to work. Carol GMG. Went to TOPS. Was Queen (5 ½ loss)

Fri – School. Washed clothes. Went to Clabers & stopped at school for Halloween parade. Mix up about trick or treat. Kids went out tonight. Stan cut pumpkin. Carol went to Berta’s & ballgame.

1966

Sun – Didn’t go to SS. Worked outside. Bill cut berries. Fixed roast. Watched TV. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Two washings. Folded & put away. Stan went bowling. Home at 9:40. Rushed to store. Stopped at bank night deposit.

Tue – School. Took Ivan & Julie to baby clinic. Julie got shot. Ivan got vaccination. Untangled string. Went to store. Got pictures & picked up Carol’s coat.

Wed – School. Washed clothes. Ironed for Monday & today. Baked cup cakes. Relaxed. Watched TV.

Thu – School. Gregory home sick. Washed hair. Got Halloween costumes out. Sewed. Washed dining room windows and put up storm windows. Carol went to play try out. Went shopping. Harry got sick.

Fri – School. Harry home sick half day. Washed clothes. Took Ivan & Julie to school to see kids parade. Very nice day. Took F, H, I to church party. Went to store. Gave Laura Dee treats.

Sat – Stan worked. Washed clothes. Ironed. Took Carol & Elaine & kids to football game. TJ 6 – Belle Vernon 0. Went to Moms. Stan, Julie, Ivan & me. Stopped at Haines.

1967

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Hung outside. Washed dining room windows & storm windows. Folded & put away. Carol went selling for FBLA. Stan went bowling. Went to store. Sorted Julie’s clothes.

Tue – School. Ironed clothes. Cleaned up house. Lady came about World Book. Went to bookmobile, store & bank. Bobby came out. Cut Mrs. Iames and my hair.

Wed – School. Went shopping at Penney’s & Kroger. Kids had hot lunch. Dad came out. Gave us tickets to War Game. Stan & I went. Terrible waste.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Baked cherry dessert. Started to bake cake Hurt back making beds. Ivan called Stan from work. He came home & went to store & fixed supper. Misery. Relaxed.

Fri – School. Felt terrible. Carol home to help. Greg home sick. Just lay around. Mrs. Iames came over. Carol went to football game (TJ 27 – Belle Vernon 0). Stan took Frank, Harry, Ivan & Julie to church Halloween party.

Sat – Stan helped me manage. Stan went to Siegels. I went to store. Kids helped clean. Frank went to Spencers. Stayed overnight.

Sun – Changed to EST. Back still hurts. Took walk. Fixed apples. Baked pies. Went to store. LD called. Called Mom. Watched TV. Everyone got baths or showers. Carol babysat.

1968

Wed – School. Washed clothes. Ironed. Mended. Went to school for PTA board meeting. Stan & Carol went bowling.

Thu – School. Washed hair. Cut out Halloween costume(David-Ivan) & apron. Sewed apron. Stan went bowling. Took kids to K-Mart.

Fri – School. Went to middle school to exchange arithmetic book. Sewed Halloween costume and cleaned kitchen. Called Eleanor & Laura Dee. Went to Helen’s. Went to Caroline’s & Pap’s. Picked up projector.

Sat – Very cold. Kids cleaned. Went to bank & store. Baked rolls & cake. Washed clothes. Made cole slaw & fish chowder. Showed movies. Carol went to Ondiches.

Sun – Stan worked outside drilling holes & putting up beams. Worked on quince jelly. Gave kids haircuts. Washed heads. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Burned rubbish. Went to store. Stan went bowling. Fixed apples. Put them in Mrs. Iames freezer. Stan watched football on TV.

Tue – School. Frank home sick. Ironed clothes. Plants came. Planted evergreens. Snow flurries. Went to Eastland.
