1969

Wed- School. Planted more seeds & put around peat. Sewed. Called Eleanor (told about Laura). Matt called Stan (laid off).

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Ironed. Ball practice rained out. Turned colder. Stan’s first day without Matt & John Molyle.

Fri – School. Felt lousy. Cleaned kitchen & medicine cabinet. Baked birthday cake. Elaine got money from Stan & shirt & petti pants. Went to store for candy.

Sat –Washed clothes. Went to Eastland & Sears. Carol & Elaine went to ball game (Dodgers 4 – Pirates 1) Stan & I went to bowling banquet. Thunderstorm.

Sun – Took Dave for driving lesson. Went to Haines. Made beef roast. Cut boys hair. Watched TV. Kids got baths. Stan went to see Pap. Carol got me feather flowers.

Mon – school. Washed clothes. Ironed & put away. Went to store. Made apple pies. Stan picked up Carol at Coal Valley. Watched “Father Goose” on TV.

Tue – School. Carol took car to Dad’s & then town. Cleaned house all over. Made rolls & meat loaf. Had late supper. Mr. Al Wu came for dinner. Frank had practice.

1970

Thu – School. Carol stayed home. Washed clothes. Ironed. Burned rubbish. Spread weed & feed. Carol went to school for test. Cut out dress.

Fri – School. Kids got picnic tickets. Harry home sick. Went to store. Sewed my dress. Baked Elaine’s birthday cake. Had Elaine’s birthday supper. Carol sick. Mrs. O. banquet. Stan went bowling.

Sat – We all felt lousy. Elaine sick. Washed clothes. Washed hair. Carol put it up. Carol went shopping. Stan got flowers. Stan & I went to bowling banquet. Home early. Had table flowers & radio.

Sun – Julie up early. Planted dahlias. Stan put up outside bell. Carol, Greg & kids played ball. Carol fixed supper. Cut & washed boys heads (hair). Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Greg home (poison ivy). Burned rubbish. Went to store. Planted portulaca. Hoed front & planted. Stan had Carbide Eng. meeting. Very tired. Stormed – rain.

Tue – School. Ironed & mended. Cleaned kitchen. Planted holyhocks. Went to shopping center. Stan went to Clairton. Watched TV.

Wed – School. Greg home sick. Drove Elaine & David to school. Baked brownies. Went to Eastland. Ordered porch furniture. Rained. Stan , Julie, Ivan & I went to Dad’s. Took Mary present (purse). Watched slides.

1971

Fri – School. Packed kids lunch. Julie & I went to South Hills Village. Got shoes. Fr & Elaine got shoes. Went to K-Mart. Got Elaine’s birthday tops.

Sat – Washed clothes. Washed hair. Went to store. Made chili. Stan & I took Julie & Ivan to Ron Colonna’s wedding. Home to eat then to reception. Stan & I had good time. Frank helped.

Sun – Baked cake. Made potato salad. Kids cut grass. Lovely day. Andrea came. Elaine opened gifts, hot pants, top & records. Andrea stayed for supper. Children got me rocker.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Ironed. Eleanor called. Mary had broken wrist. Stan had Carbide Eng. Dave had pictures. Frank had first game. Ivan got hit with ball. Went to Hom. Hospital.

Tue – School. Ivan home morning. Mended. Planted geraniums. Bill drove me to Hom. Hospital to sign papers. Hoed & planted front 7 side. Elaine had forensics banquet. Want to PTA. Honor Mrs. Currey.

Wed – School. Rain. Straightened house. Repotted plants. Went to store. Baked cake. Watched TV.

Thu – Rain. Washed clothes. Washed my bedspread & quilt. Plants came. Stan & I planted blueberries, 2 peach & 2 sugar maple.

1972

Sun – Fixed breakfast for LRY gang. Frank worked at gun club. Stan worked on dirt & seeded. Kids took down X-mas lights. Put up screens. Washed windows & drapes. Carol & Jim came. Elaine had friend overnight.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Stan had Carbide Eng. meeting. Had Rick Rieser. Elaine went to store. Played cards.

Tue – School. Rain. Dave drove Rick Reiser to town & went to school. Made birthday cake, rolls & stuffed peppers. Went to PTA. Installed as President. Pleasant Hills Mini Singers. Called Jane O.

Wed – School. Went to store. Made calls for PTA. Got room mothers. Played cards.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Man came about Stan’s jury duty. Man came about my witness. Went to bank. Opened checking again at WPNB. Called PTA. Dave worked on car.

Fri – No school. Went to lawyers about witness case. Beautiful day. Cleaned kitchen. Took Julie, Harry, Ivan to Kennywood. Frank went on bus. Elaine work. Dave, Greg stayed home. Home at 9:30.

Sat – Kids cut grass. Washed clothes. Went to store. Carol & Jim came. Brought me envelope & picture. Cleaned living room. Stan put in alum. Stripping by wall. Planted marigolds. Kids slept at Elders. Rain.

1973

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Cleaned upstairs boy’s bedroom. Bill & kids went in to get furniture. Set up beds. Stan worked shop.

Tue – School. Planted nut tree. Washed clothes. Sorted in boy’s room. Made banana cream pie. Cleaned out hall cupboard. Typed Greg’s paper. Electric storm. Wire down.

Wed – School. Cleaned kitchen. Straightened upstairs. Kids cut grass front. Ran sweeper. Bob H. came out. Bruce & wife came, too. Elaine’s birthday cake. Andrea stopped.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Fixed supper. Took Ivan to dentist. Wrote letters. Transplanted grass patches. Bruce & wife came for bed.

Fri – School. Baked pumpkin cookies & bar cookies. Cleaned living room. Mended clothes. Carol came. Went to bed early. Dave came home. Mary & Stella stopped in. Typed invitations (5^th grade). Got Harry bed.

Sat – Did big washing. Frank had game. Went to store. Elaine went out for dinner. Carol & Jim stopped out. Kids cut grass. Bill cleaned up his corner of cellar. Dave took car.

Sun – Mother’s day. Got robe, purse & cameo earrings. Made cake. Had early supper. Dave met people at Ho. Johnston for ride back. Kids cut grass. Built fire at stump. Typed invoices.
