March 12 - 18, 1969-1973

1969

Wed- School. Cleaned up. Had PTA meeting here, nominating committee. Went to store. Stan went to school. Took kids to shopping center. They bought some track.

Thu – School. Felt dizzy. Washed & ironed clothes. Read. Stan went bowling. Played game of Risk. Knitted & watched TV.

Fri – School. Baked cake. Went to store. Rested. Had mild flu.

Sat – Took David to Dr. for drivers license. Stopped at store. Helped kids clean. Carol & I went to South Hills Village. Got material.

Sun – Slept late. Read paper. Went to Eastland to May-Stern. Barb & Bob H. stopped out. Kids got baths. Visited Dorothy Iames.

Mon – School. Up early. Washed clothes. Straightened house. Went to Eastland. Bought dining room furniture. Got paint. Went to store. Got Carol. Stan got hair cut.

Tue – School. Nice day. Greg home sick. Cleaned out fireplace. Dad came. Dug up bulbs & watered. Stan took Elaine to hospital (infected corn). Stan went to store & got Carol. Took shower.

1970

Thu – School. Ivan & Greg home. Washed clothes & ironed. Stan home late. Carol swallowed her contact lens. Stan went bowling. Wrote Bill. Watched TV.

Fri – School. Ivan home. Shoveled walks. Chipped ice off porch. Went to Krogers. Straightened house. Bill & Bob H. came. Talked until 2:30AM.

Sat – Tired. Drove Elaine to school. Science test. Washed clothes. Went to Bartolatttas. Greg brought organ. Carol, Greg, Dave & Frank went bowling. Kids rearranged room. Watched TV.

Sun – Felt lousy. Headache. Read paper. Baked cake. Greg came & practiced organ. Watched David Copperfield. Kids got baths. Bill H. called.

Mon – School. Carol took car. Washed clothes. Ironed. Changed sheets. Swept water from water softener. Played organ.

Tue – School. Cut out pink material for coat. Cleaned out dresser drawer. Sewed together lining. Fixed lemon sauce & fish – yugh. Cut out Elaine’s pant skirt & vest. Got Carol. Bill H. came out.

Wed – School. Sewed lining in pink coat. Baked cake. Carol had car. Worked late. Went to K-Mart. Bought Carol dress & sport outfit.

1971

Fri – School. Made lemon meringue pie. Mended. Fixed roast. Carol home late. Dave Conklin stayed. Stan home very late. He wants to quit Carbidie. Dave took Elaine to class play “Arsenic & Old Lace”.

Sat – Washed clothes – a lot. Kids cleaned. Went to store. Carol, kids & I went shopping for TV. Bought a Magnavox at Wander.

Sun – Beautiful day. Baked cake. Made cinnamon toast. Kids played outside. Mad galumpkie. Stan & I visited Pap. Mary was there. Kids got baths. Dave & E went kite flying.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Ironed. Made chicken cacciatore. Stan went bowling. Went to store. Found baby snails & guppies. Carol separated them.

Tue – School. Straightened house. Washed mirrors & waxed. Made custard. Cleaned refrigerator. New TV was delivered. Fuss over adjustment. Visited Mrs. Iames.

Wed – School. Ivan home sick (?). Went to Eastland to get Carol’s coat. Stopped at baker shop. Eleanor came. Showed her dress. Stan home form work late. Took shower.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Made lime dessert. Ironed. Julie stayed at Mrs. Iames. Went to HS for Hones for Elaine. Stan went bowling. Dave got Carol early – headache.

1972

Sun – Read paper. Kids picked up blocks. Elaine & I made donuts. Gave kids haircuts. Kids got baths. Thunderstorms.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Bill & boys came with wood for school. Stan went to Carbide Eng. Played cards.

Tue – School. Bill & boys worked on wood again. Mark took me bank. Fixed boys lunch. Cleaned refrigerator. Fixed pork chops & cheesecake. Went to store.

Wed – School. Bill took us to McKeesport for food stamps. Walked all over looking for him. Relaxed. Saw Firebird & picked up stuff. Went to store.

Thu – School. Washed clothes & hair. Made swirled jello dessert. Started Stan’s sweater. Made fire. Went to store.

Fri –School. Blue day. Made cho. Chip cookies. Cleaned living room. Put out new scarves. Played cards.

Sat – Nice day. Slag delivered. Boys cleaned and all worked outside on slag. Big job. Went to store. Dave took test (at school). Played cards. Bob Toren came. Elaine went to class play. He stayed.

1973

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Eleanor called. Dad died. Finished wash. Went in to Dad’s. Went over papers. Home late. Bill had friend here. Dave helped cook. Took kids shopping for shoes.

Tue – School. Regina called. She will take over meeting. Worked on clothes hems. Made spaghetti. Went to funeral home. Lots of flowers & friends.

Wed – Washed hair. Straightened house. Went to funeral home. Went to Eleanor’s for supper. Back to funeral home. Busy. Lawyers came. Poured down rain.

Thu – Kids home. Tried to get Chrysler started. All got ready. Went to Dad’s funeral. Went to Mary’s for refreshments. Home early. Tired.

Fri – School. Washed clothes. Marion called. Lots of ironing. Changed sheets. Elaine came home. Brought dessert. She washed clothes. Got me milk. Bill went to Engineers dance.

Sat – Stan worked on Chrysler. Washed clothes. Went to bank & store. Bill & Frank worked at shop. Bill H. stopped out. Carol & Jim came. Buildt fire. Bad roads.

Sun – Very blue. Made cakes (strawberry whipped cream & choc iced). Had steak – good. Kids got baths. Stan shoveled snow in driveway.
