Feb 26 - March 4, 1969-1973

1969

Wed- School. Gregory home because of poison ivy. Went to K-Mart for party things. Made favors. Stan went to school. Took Elaine to Southland for shoes.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Cleaned & mopped cellar. Put up old kitchen table in cellar. Stan went bowling. Buildt fire. Mary called.

Fri – School. Greg home sick. Washed hair. Cleaned out ref. Baked cake for party. Cleaned kitchen. Greg cleaned kitchen. Went to store. Had groceries stolen from car.

Sat – Made icing for cake. Went to store. Carol fixed lunch. Car window broken by vandals. Harry’s birthday party. Man came about Feb. accident. Stan took Harry & Greg to scout banquet.

Sun – Took shower. Went to Haines. Had to clean up from party. Carol got company (girls from school). Watched TV. Visited Mrs. Iames. Stan visited Pap & Helen.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Did four loads. Baked birthday cake. Had lobster & shrimp. Harry & Greg went swimming. Stan took Frank to electronics (waste). Put out candy.

Tue – School. Straightened house. Went to Clabers & Foodland. Got Harry more Lego. Ironed & mended. Stan, G, H, & I & myself went to PTA on reptiles. Left early to go to town to get Carol.

1970

Thu – School. Very tired. Stan went to work. Home early. Washed clothes. Cleaned out refr. Rested Went to Acme. Stan went to Dr.

Fri – School. Stan went to hospital for test. Cancelled trip. Went to bank & store. Went to Haines & Clabers. Took Harry for shoes in eve.

Sat – Washed clothes & ironed. Fixed apple & blueberry pies. Carol fixed dinner for D, E & her Greg. Stan, me & family went to Blue & Gold dinner.

Sun – Slept late. Greg drove out & washed & waxed car. Elaine took down x-mas lights. Read paper. Gave haircuts. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Changed sheets. Folded & ironed. Stan went to Dr. Went to store. Then went to South Hills Village. Got new shoes. Got Stan wallet.

Tue – School. Frank & Stan home. Baked cake. Went to Wilson for Cub Scout. Had birthday supper. Harry wore new shoes. Got jeans, cub scout, kite & top. Called Dad. Watched TV.

Wed – School. Straightened house. Cut out & sewed Julie’s Easter dress. Sewed on blanket binding. Went to Bartolottas.

1971

Fri – School. Elaine home. Straightened up kitchen. Went to store. Had stuffed rubber chicken. Dave & Elaine went to library. Had electrical short. Called Helen.

Sat – Baked pies. Washed clothes. Did big ironing. Took Frank to Rt. 51 Bargain Store. Carol made spaghetti. F,G,H,I & J & Stan & I went to Cub Scout dinner.

Sun – Went to SS. Taught. Julie went too. Bad day. Cried. Stan visited his Pap & stopped at my Dad’s for radio.

Mon – School. Had crying spell. Swept & mopped cellar. Ironed. Fixed pork roast. Stan home early. Had talk. Stan went bowling. Went to store.

Tue – School. Frank home sick. Straightened house. Made telephone calls. Had fish & French fries. Stan had to go back to work. Went to PTA. Took Ivan & Julie. Atomic demo.

Wed – School. Frank home. Baked cake. Washed clothes. Made spaghetti. Started to snow. Everyone home late. Harry got jeans, trousers, shirt, kite, socks & $5.00. Got stuck. Stan took me to store.

Thu – McGee’s had new baby. No school. Lots of snow (10 inches). Winds & drifts. Shoveled driveway. Mended & knitted. Elaine baked choc. Chip cookies. Stan went bowling. Dave got Carol.

1972

Sat – Washed clothes. Folded & ironed. Kids cleaned. Carol stopped out. Made Bar-B-Q spareribs. Played cars till late. Terrible. Dave Conklin stayed overnight. Bruce H. stopped.

Sun – Very tired. Made chicken soup, jello salad & cake. Picked up Dave at Sunnyhill. Bruce stopped out. Got Elaine from town. Stan visited Pap. Everyone got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Changed sheets. Called Stella. Stan went bowling. Went to store.

Tue – School. Elaine home sick. Sewed zipper in dress. Straightened house. Made egg custard, rolls & chili. Bruce came out to fix Plymouth (brake shoes).

Wed – School. Elaine home sick. Nice day. Julie & I worked on driveway. Picked up beer cans. Knitted. Played cards.

Thu – School. Elaine home again. Went to bank & store. Dave went to school. Washed clothes. Went to store. Bill H. & Bruce stopped to fix brakes on Plymouth. Went to store.

Fri – No school because of ice. Baked Harry’s cake. Elaine iced it. Flip came up. Played Lego. Schuback came for TV repair. Harry got shirt, jeans, kite, wiffle bat & ball. Played cards.

Sat – Washed clothes. Julie had thrown up on bedclothes. Kids cleaned. Went to store. Made sausage & waffles. Stan built fire. Called Carol. Played cards.

1973

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Cut out Stan’s ties. Stan & Bill took apart Datsun. Typed letters & price lists.

Tue – Stan home. Went to Pitt Dental with Ivan. Sewed Stan tie. Relaxed. Stan went with Bill to pick up part for Datsun. Went to Bookmobile & store. Fellows worked on Datsun. Julie got library card.

Wed – School. Straightened house. Cleaned kitchen walls. Moved stove & refrigerator. Went out to Eastland. Paid on bill – took back shirt.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Changed sheets. Went to store. Typed invoices. Stan worked at shop.

Fri – School. Packed lunches. Went to shop. Gathered rubbish. Columbia gas came. Got milk. Went to bank & went shopping. Cleaned living room. Elaine came. Andrea came. They went out.

Sat – Kids cleaned. Washed clothes. Took Harry & Ivan to Casinelli to get bus for ice skating. Went to K-Mart. Got tennis rackets. Iced cake. Flip came up. Played “Minister’s cat”. Mixed dough. Frank slept at Conklin’s. Cut out Dave’s outfit.

Sun – Made honey & cinnamon rolls. Read paper. Julie had ear ache. Took Elaine to school. Stan worked on income tax. Advertised Datsun. Worked on puzzle & invoices. Kids got baths.
