Feb 12 - 18, 1969 - 1973

1969

Wed- School. Ironed clothes. Mended. Sewed a bit. Went to store. Very icy. Kids worked on valentines.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Elaine home sick. Ironed & put away. Stan went bowling. Went to Coal Valley for Carol. Witnessed accident.

Fri – School. Went to store & bank. Fixed fancy dessert & stuffed chickens. Knitted. Had late supper. Watched TV. Wrote Bill.

Sat – Went to store. Carol went on to Horne’s. Washed clothes. Stan worked but home early. Went to Eastland. Got new kitchen table & chairs.

Sun – Went to UU church. Borrowed books to read. Relaxed. Fixed port roast. Visited Dorothy Iames. Dad called. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Man came to interview about accident. Made lobster & cho. cakes. Dave got underwear, trousers, record, mag. & money for permit.

Tue – School. Julie & I went to store & bank. Sewed. Called Stella. Mary called. Went to town to get Carol.

1970

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Ironed & folded. Stan went bowling. Home late for supper. Washed hair. Made fire. Wendy & girl friends stopped. She had contacts.

Fri – Wrote Bill letter. Cleaned refrigerator. Carol took car. Went to school for Valentine party. Went to bank & Clabers.

Sat – Slept late. Mr. Steele called about Elsie Lawson. Washed clothes. Went to store. Snowy. Dave took girl bowling. Greg came. Kids went sled riding & made pizza.

Sun – Glaze of ice. Read paper. Stan & I went to funeral home. Frank fixed fr. fries. Started sleeves of baby sweater. Watched TV. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Changed sheets. Watched TV. Sewed baby sweater.

Tue – School. Cleaned house. Went to store. Made lasagna. Took Greg to eye Dr. again. Picked up cake & candy. Made lobster & stuffed shrimp. Watched TV. Started hat.

Wed – School. Had flat tire. Chopped ice off front porch Julie played at Leslie’s. Greg missed bus. Frank changed tire. Stan got new tires at Sears. I went to K-Mart.

1971

Fri – School. Finished dress. Went to store. Cleaned kitchen. Went to school to help with Valentine party. Stan & I went to show “Joe”.

Sat – Washed clothes. Went to store. Snowing. Carol & Greg walked to Roxie’s. Family worked the puzzle. Ironed & put away. Kids cleaned.

Sun – Snow everywhere. Church cancelled. Worked puzzle. Made chocolate log & French meatballs. Andrea came. Slept overnight.

Mon – No school (Wash. birthday vacation) Made kids remove snow from house. Dave took kids to Wesley’s. Finished puzzle (again). Kids got baths.

Tue – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Changed sheets. Had beef roast. Had boys clean & rearrange bedroom. Went to K-Mart for Dave’s birthday stuff.

Wed – Baked cake. School bus late. Sewed Dave’s pjs. Had breaded veal cutlet. Dave got briefcase, book, pen, unfinished pjs, sweater. Stan had to go back to work (water in naptha).

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Scrubbed the kitchen walls. Big job. Went to Dad’s. Visited. Went to town to get Carol.

1972

Sat – Washed clothes. Bill went to store & got makings of hoagies. Cleaned living room. Carol stopped out. Iced cake & made rigatoni. Played bridge.

Sun – Snow. Shoveled walk. Baked cake. Made roast in cooking bag. Elaine went to Andrea’s. Didn’t go to LRY (bad roads). Shoveled again. Carol & Jim came out.

Mon – School. Up early. Looked for lost garbage can lid. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Changed sheets. Went to school for Valentines party. Stan & Bill went to Carbide Eng.

Tue – School. Went to bank. Dave went to school. Went to store. Played cards. Bill worked. Elaine was at Andrea’s. Went to Bookmobile & Foodland. Buildt fire.

Wed – School. Straightened house. Knitted. Lazy day. Took Plymouth to get fixed. (Drove Dave to school.) Picked Dave up & got car. Went shopping for Dave’s birthday.

Thu – Washed clothes. Ironed. Made & decorated cake. Dave got underwear, light shade & shirt. Stan fixed light. Went to store for milk. Played cards.

Fri – School. Wrote article about Halloween. Cut out dress. Best man came to check washer. Julie & I took walk. Snowed. Played cards. Dave worked night.

1973

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Frank home sick. Changed sheets. Made sausage & waffles. Stan went to Carbidie Eng. Watched TV.

Tue – School. Stan took my car. Straightened house. Went to school to work on box. Practiced skit. Had PTA meeting. Joyce Schmidt spoke. All went well.

Wed – School. Went to Clairton. Took points for Cornell. Paid bills. Rain. Got kids for lunch. Went to school. Valentine’s party. Cleaned school refrigerator. Went to Bartolatta’s. Robbed.

Thu – School. Greg home sick. Called on phone about charge cards. Called Marion & Stella. Elaine came home. Washed clothes & ate supper. Dave took her home.

Fri – School. Cleaned living room & kitchen. Couldn’t get car out of driveway. Cancelled Dr. Siegel’s appointment. Went to bank. Opened new account. Went to store. Went for new driver’s license.

Sat – Kids cleaned. Went to Sears. Stan & Bill went to shop. Carol came. Brought me wallet & money. Went to Penney’s for Dave’s presents. Baked cake. Dave got underwear, shirt & patterns. Dave Conklin came. Played cards. Slept over.

Sun – Read paper. Julie didn’t go to Sun. school. Didn’t feel well. Stan went to Shop. Went to Haines. Frank slept at Dave Conklin’s. Julie & I made cake. Wrote checks for business & invoices.
