Feb 5 - 11, 1969-1973

1969

Wed- School. Cut out jacket lining. Went to Eastland. We went to Hatfield’s. Kids saw train lay out.

Thu – School. Washed & ironed. Sewed Elaine’s skirt. Stan went bowling. Bill H. came out with boys. Went to bottom of hill for Carol (already home).

Fri – School. Cleaned kitchen. Sewed Carol’s jacket. Went to store. Stan home late. Rested. Bill H. came out. Bruce had axel for bike (too big).

Sat – Stan worked in morning. Took kids for glasses. Washed clothes. Stan went to bowling party. Went to store.

Sun – Slept late. Snow storm missed us. Stan went to work. I went in for signatures for Bill’s card. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Went to HS for signatures for Bill’s valentine. Julie sick. Washed clothes & straightened house. Carol at school. Stan went to Carbidie Engineers. Got Carol at Coal Valley.

Tue – Sick with fever. Stan came home & got Elaine from school. Rested. Stan went in and got Carol.

1970

Thu – School. Feeling some better. Washed clothes. Ironed. Went to store. Waited for Gregory. Took him to get glasses. Disappointed. Stan went bowling.

Fri – School. Harry home sick. Made soup. Carol took car – didn’t come home for supper. Went to store.

Sat – Washed clothes. Went to store. Carol fixed supper. Stan went bowling & dinner with Oberg. Went to Sears. Ironed.

Sun – Gray day. Read paper. Dave took kids to Carnegie Library & Als. Carol & Greg made cookies. Watched TV. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Stan home sick. Washed clothes. Ironed. Changed sheets. Went to store. Got pattern & baby yarn.

Tue – School. Harry home. Knitted baby sac. Made brownies. Sewed dress.

Wed – School. Went to store. Took Julie to get picture taken at K-Mart. Made apple dessert. Knitted. Finished dress. Marion S. called.

1971

Fri – School. Drove to McKeesport then Stan to work. Plymouth stalled. Got windshield wipers fixed on Firebird. Went to bank & store. Bill’s car limped home (sick). Took Dave to Squillas for rally.

Sat – Washed clothes. Carol went to wedding. Brought Diane for supper. They all went to reception. Elaine baby sat. Hip hurt. Went to store.

Sun – Didn’t go to church. Knitted. Stan rolled off. Went for ride to get David at Squilla’s. Visited Iames. Kids got baths. Marion S. called.

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Ironed. Changed sheets. Snow (10 inches). Tried to take Bill’s car to garage. Got stuck. Stan was to go to Carbide Eng. (too late). Got Carol from work.

Tue – School. Finished Dave’s back sweater. Started front. Bill got stuck in front yard. Man pulled us out. Dave home. Missed bus.

Wed – School. Bill drove Carol to work. Went to store. Drove Bill over to get car. Watched TV.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped. Sewed dress. Stan went bowling. Dave got Carol from school.

1972

Sat – Stan got estimate for Firebird repair. Washed clothes. Played cards. Went to store. Carol & Jim stopped out. Had fire in fireplace.

Sun – Snow. Kids made igloo. Made French toast. Baked cup cakes. Read paper. Worked crosswords. Made stuffed veal. Played cards. Swept porch. Kids got baths.

Mon – School. Up early. Swept snow. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Changed sheets. Drove Stan bowling & went to store.

Tue – School. Worked on chair covers. Frank Kennedy came about Firebird damage. Went to school to see Mrs. Cole (Frank). Stan stayed overnight at York, Pa.

Wed – School. Baked apple pies & custard & cherry. Straightened house. Stan home. Bill bought friend – Mark Rein. He stayed overnight.

Thu – School. Washed clothes. Changed our sheet. Knitted. Made arrangements for Firebird repair. Called Stella.

Fri – School. Up early. Drove Stan to New Stanton. Jack Berry picked him up. Knitted. Baked Lincoln log & cake. Made kapusta. Gas Co. man came. Played cards.

1973

Mon – School. Washed clothes. Swept & mopped cellar. Changed sheets. Julie went to Collette’s. Frank took car to recreation. Called Stella. John Marks stopped about payments to Gabbie.

Tue – School. Called about PTA. Got 3 business calls. Typed plan. Baked brownies. Dad called.

Wed – School. Straightened up. Had PTA board meeting. Ladies came to talk about PTA. Refrigerator delivered. Made clothes basket holder for stand. Boys went to shop. Made pop corn balls.

Thu – School. Packed kids lunch. Washed clothes. Made galumpkies. Made cookies. Made fire. Went to Foodland. Bill H. stopped out. Watched TV. Worked on Valentines.

Fri – School. Packed lunches. Cleaned living room. Cleaned some kitchen cabinets. Took Chrysler for tune up. Crocheted. Leslie came up.

Sat – Washed clothes. Dave got Elaine. She washed clothes. Got bath. Took car. Went to “Great Wall” with Chinese class. Carol & Jim came out with new Corvette. Drove Elaine back to dorm. Watched “Andromeda Strain”. Made popcorn balls.

Sun – Julie went to Sun. School. Read paper. Baked cupcakes. Washed Julie’s hair. Gave Stan haircut.
