July 24 - July 30, 1964-1968

1964

Fri – Baked cake. Elaine had music lesson. Went to get Bill. Went to store. Kids cut grass. Knitted. Gave boys & Stan haircuts then baths.

Sat – Stan’s day off. Cleaned house. Stan worked on manhole for grease trap. Cemented it in. Relaxed & watched TV.

Sun – Elaine & I went to SS & church. Went to store. Stan filled up sewer hole. Relaxed. Ate & went to see Mom. Mary was there. Drove Mary to town.

Mon – Washed clothes. Baked roast & cupcakes. Went to bread store & reception for Rev. Pease. Stan marked hole in septic tank lid. Bill H. came out.

Tue – Dad came. Made hole in septic tank lid. Iron & went to PP clinic. Got referred for dermatology clinic. David’s game rained out. Hard rainstorm. Went to bookmobile.

Wed – Slept late. Went thru the kids clothes upstairs to see what they had for school. Went to moonlight sale & deposited coupons. Stella & Bill were here. Had pleasant talk.

Thu – Made galumpkies. Washed clothes. Took Bill to Dr. Schnurer. He was dismissed. Folded clothes. Took Elaine to Dr. Stollar for camp examination. Took Stan to Exposition but too late. Closed.

1965

Sat – Dad came out. Varnished the furniture. Went for order. Paid mortgage & gas. Dave, Greg & Harry went for hike. Lost Harry. Took Bill to work. Rain storm. Repairman came out to fix wires.

Sun – Didn’t go to SS or church. Humid. Mended. Fixed roast & trimmings. Went to Moms. Stopped over at Stella’s. Bought ice cream. Made cones.

Mon – Summer school. Washed clothes. Ironed & folded. Made brownies. Stan & I Went to library. Mended & sewed Carol’s white shorts.

Tue – Summer school. Knitted. Made pies. Stan went to Meadows with fellows. Picked corn & cucumbers. Stan home late. Police call by mistake.

Wed – Summer school. Made pickles. Stan took keys. Sewed & relaxed. Elaine & I went to South Hills Village opening. Went to Eastland. Moonlight sale. Got Bill about 2:00 AM.

Thu – Summer school. Went to K-Mart & Thorofare. Washed clothes. Ironed & folded. Stan went to Meadows. I went to TOPS. Only Helen Fredell. Decided to discontinue until Sept 9. Carol baked cake.

Fri – Summer school last day. Finished my dress. Cleaned house. Did sleeves for Bill’s sweater.

1966

Sun – Didn’t go to SS or church. Stan got new muffler for old Ford. Got cleaned up. All went in to Mom’s for fine dinner. Kate & family for visit. To start home tonight. Bill worked.

Mon – Washed clothes. Folded. Ironed. Big pile. Hot & humid. Made chop suey. Stan worked on muffler. Stan went bowling & Ivan & I went to store.

Tue – Went to Dr. Said it would be another week. Got Stan watch and went to Eastland. Played cards. Stan worked on body of old Ford. Called Eloise Kearns.

Wed – Cut out material for dress. Took kids swimming. Baked cupcakes. Went to see Mrs. Stickle about beds. Took Carol & Elaine to Night Owl sale. Deposited coupons.

Thu – Laura D. called. Washed clothes. Folded & Ironed. Sybil & Phyllis Houser called. Started show but no contractions. Went to Haines for Pole lamp.

Fri – Called Laura D. Finished dress. Kids helped me clean house. Cleaned kitchen & upstairs bathroom. Went to Southland for late drawing. Didn’t win.

Sat – Started labor about 5AM. Stan went to work but came home early. Went to hospital at 5PM. Baby girl born about 7. Weighs 7 lb 1 oz. So thankful. Stan came to visit.

1967

Mon – Washed clothes. Made 7 qts. pickles. Had lunch. Clean up. Folded clothes. Rained. Went to Haines’ for order.

Tue – Ironed clothes. Went to bank & store. Sewed Julie’s dress. Stan went for glasses & to see Pap. I went to bookmobile & bread store.

Wed – Carol went to Southland. Got material. Went shopping. Special sales. Bought Frank jacket. Took boys for Night Owl sales. Got hot dogs.

Thu – Washed clothes. Carol & Jane went to town. Took Ivan & Frank to Southland. Got hot dogs. Went to Bartoletta’s. Went to Tops (-3)

Fri – Rained in kitchen. Mopped early in morn. Peeled apples. Made apple & berry pies. Fixed beef roast. Stan & I went to hospital to see Pap. Stopped to see Mom & Caroline. Took pie & cucumbers.

Sat – Stan’s day off. Fixed Ford & took it for inspection. Sliced cucumbers. Cleaned kitchen. Carol & Jane went to town. Picked & fixed green beans. Went to K-Mart for film.

Sun – Went to SS. Took Julie. Played piano. Took movies of Julie opening presents & walking. Made pickles. Went to Hatfield’s. Bill H. from Calif. Stopped at Dad’s then Mom’s.

1968

Wed – Washed clothes. Washed blankets, mattress covers, etc. form our beds. Went to store. Took kids swimming. Stan took kids to game (Bluejays 4 – Orioles 1). Went to Midnight sale. Got bath.

Thu – Kids all helped me clean house. Washed clothes. Made special cookies for Bill. Stan took kids to ballgame (Dave, Frank & their friends). Bill & Carol came in about 9:00. Picked kids up after game.

Fri – Tired. Went to store. Grandpa came out. Bill’s luggage came. Played records. Relaxed at home, knitted & had watermelon. Bill went out with Malone.

Sat – Humid. Washed clothes. Went to Busy Beaver. Stan chipped block & re-laid block in front. Went to store. Played cards. Learned double deck pinochle.

Sun – Beautiful day. Stan worked on framework for front steps and walk. Carol took Bill around. Played cards.

Mon – Washed & IRONED. Swept up sand. Cut out material. Went to Sears & Acme. Stan worked on layout of walks. Played cards with Bill. Carol told about Bill & Francie.

Tue – Tired. Went to Sears to exchange trousers. Baked cake. Took Frank & Ivan to dentist. Got kids from swimming. Stan worked on front. Knitted & watched TV.
